My Mountain
Good evening to all.. spent 5 hours of my day with no electricity... makes for a more boring day, certainly.

The wind is having its moments it seems and a tree toppled a power line, knocking about 250 out of power.

Rain now will change over to some snow by morning ... winter can't make it it's mind.. lol.

It has three intensity settings Pap. Didn’t seem to matter on the tickle meter. I’m thinking April n Bridge could be right and it will subside eventually. I mean, I can’t be the only one. Maybe I need to callous up a bit. Kinda like vapor’s tongue. I mean, I’m going from. 33,000 strokes per year to 33,000 per second. That’s like a tortoise compared to the Enterprise.

Before I started using it I couldn’t even bear to hear the thing running. I’d get a tickle sensation vicariously. At first, it was rough going. But Bridget and April are right, you do get used to it and it doesn’t take long. I found a method of brush angle placement and movement around my teeth that minimizes triggering any feeling like it’s tickling.

Also helps to set your focus on getting to every surface in the quadrant and along your gum line. That keeps you from noticing the vibration.

I brushed my teeth again before I hit the rack (standard protocol). I admit I entered the bathroom with trepidation. But it turned out not as bad. Still unacceptable, but a noticeable improvement. I suspect I’m on a trajectory. I am recalling all the vids I watched when reviewers would say it will take new users a little time to get used to.

I too use the Sonic Platinum -- have for years now, and I love it. I can't recall whose replacement brushes I have right now -- the OEM brand is ridiculously exprensive!

Toothpaste is Arm&Hammer PeroxiCare DeepClean; hair gets Dove Dermacare Scalp 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner w/ occasional T-Gel tar shampoo thrown in. :)

I'm not picky about mouthwash, although I think it's all overpriced. My favorite is Listerine Citrus, because -- ORANGE! :w00t:

Thankfully, I have always flossed a lot. It’s nearly an obsession. I can’t use the string stuff though. I know it’s the best but I just cant jam my fist in my mouth to do it (no comments from the peanut gallery please). I use those picks. I get those jumbo bags and I’m flossing with those even when I don’t need it. Doc calls them cap poppers. I’m careful. Also use those G-U-M soft picks. Kinda look like those dressed up toothpicks you put in a cocktail. I like those things. They feel good.

Question: you said the purple stuff has fluoride. How does that work? Just it just attach itself to the enamel and form a coating? We have well water here so I know there’s no fluoride in there.
I'm ok with floss picks and soft picks are good too.
Fluoride is necessary in strong enamel. It helps to remineralize the damage we do with sugar, acid, and plaque. I explain it to kids as 'tooth vitamins'. Too much can be bad, but what we get in toothpaste and mouthwash is great. It's a controversial subject, if you want to read some crazy anti-fluoride stuff just google. But I'm sticking with it!
My Sonicare runs for two minutes in 30 second segments. I do one quadrant of my mouth per segment, and then usually do another 30 second segment for good measure.

General, if yours has 2 speed/intensity settings, make sure you've got it set on the lower setting.
Perfect!!

I don’t know why but it really made me smile that you love ORANGE! Maybe because I have felt this way about PURPLE. I’m giving you a hug for that! (((( Eleanor )))) :)

The price of OEM is ridiculous. Like the old guy in that hearing aid commercial says, "Whatever they can get"! I saw a number of generic brands on Amazon that all got high marks. And for nowhere near the price of OEM.

It's a controversial subject, if you want to read some crazy anti-fluoride stuff just google. But I'm sticking with it!
Probably wigging out over their town's water supply system that adds it in. People like to freak out about that stuff. Like the shots you have to get before your kid can start kindergarten.

    Good morning, Army! :)

I recall (in either the '50's or early '60's) that fluoride was a communist plot, I don't recall the horrors to be inflicted upon us by fluoride but it had to bad. Perhaps the claim was a front from the American Dental Association (in this I am being facetious not serious therefore ).

I think you'll get used to the feel of it in your mouth. I would suggest using the Sonicare brush (instead of the aftermarket one) until you get used to it.

I get my teeth cleaned every 4 months, so I change brush heads after every cleaning.
Ah! Another dental overachiever! I do that extra cleaning too.
