ohhh another question, does it cycle the ice pusher and at end of cycle does in not add water then? If it cycles the ice pusher and doesnt add water, then I would look into the solenoid and relay.
( unless it has a filter and its really gooped up) and... I do remember some ice makers had issues with the filler hose ( inside the freezer) would get blocked up with ice...

Westinghouse, at least seven years, perhaps eight.
Follow the water feed line back from the point the water comes out (maybe a you tube vid will show how it is routed). Somewhere along the way you should be able to disconnect it. Run the water dispenser to see if water comes out. If it does, your pump is OK and you likely have a frozen line. Can you hear the solenoid clicking when you push the dispenser arm in?

2 main things to check...
the contact bar ( ice level) switch and/or the water valve solenoid relay... also might want to check continuity/ohms of the solenoid too...

My thought was the solenoid. There is a water dispenser that works fine so I know the pressure is OK.

That was me. GE refrigerators. Cannot tell you how many times I've had my dispenser torn apart. Finally found a multi solution.

I have to check the solenoid click.

Oh, sorry. You said the ice maker. I was thinking it was water. Check your manual or You Tube vids for your brand. There is a reset sequence for many ice makers. You might have one on yours. Push this button, pull that lever, do simultaneously, stand on your head while you plug it in, yank this door open, blah, blah, blah...some kind of an ice maker reset.

As it sits, no part of the mechanism moves. Water ill not flow when I manually move the ice bucket "full" detector.
I am youtubing now.

I don't believe that there are any gears turning inside the machine, when it was working I could hear the motor run and the gears turn - now nothing.
Yeah, check out these vids for the GE. Good chance you may have something similar on your westinghouse.

Well, our ice maker went out. Darn thing won't fill with water. I have read that the ice maker is the most frequent fail on a refrigerator. I guess I do some looking into how these things are fixed.

Ours quit a long time ago, repairman quoted us an astronomical amount to fix it.. Come to find out from a friend at Lowes you can unplug it and stick a new one in there. I think it's a whirlpool tho.

Now you're all not going to believe this, so you best sit down given my sincerely pathetic record with all things technical. This happened to my Maytag which icebox is I believe a Whirlpool, and I diagnosed ...... AND FIXED IT!!!!.....gasp....Myself! Didn't know if it was the box or the plug, so I had to reorder the plug as the one thata came with it (for a whole $30) was a 7 inch length, and I needed a 13"; but other than that...Took the old'uns out, put the new'uns in, Didn't electrocute myself, the neighbors or scare anyone's dogs in the process.
