Went to Lowe's to buy the Porter Cable drill (pcck607lb) I was looking at. Turns out Lowe's will price match. This includes online retailers as long as it's sold and shipped by them. No third party sellers. So I tried it with the Amazon price. Would have worked but because it was for prime members it was no go. (website didn't say that but wasn't going to push it) So I did some searching on my phone to see if I could find it cheaper. Well I did. Sold and shipped by Wal-Mart for $98.30. Same as Amazon. Price was matched so $105.67 out the door.:) Doesn't have a case but I'm sure I can find something at Goodwill for a few dollars to keep it in.

If she's so smart, why did she marry me ?

Because you are a sweet man, and your bark is worse than your bite? Sorry I couldn't help myself.
I hope Mamaw is back home where she belongs, with you. I bet she is working on a honey-do list for you now.
Y'all are like two peas in a pod, and very lucky to have each other at that.

There are many answers to that question. Where to start?? :)

I like how you shop. Research, research, research!

I spent probably a good hour+ researching those goofy replacement brush heads for my new toothbrush. The payoff is rather significant. Instead of spending $12 on them, I can get them for 80 cents. Probably saves $50/year. Moreso, I don't get that feeling of being gouged. Hate thinking I'm being taken advantage of. Those bastiches make more dough off the heads than the unit itself...like printer cartridges.

One thing about it is I'm sure Lowe's still made money on the sale..

Update... The broken thermostat bolt has been removed and both bolts are now new. :thumb: I had to remove the air intake.(one wing nut) and a stud bolt from a bracket to get more of a strait line on it. Center punched it as best I could. Then with the left hand bits from Harbor Freight I started with I/8th. The bolts must have been aluminum because it wasn't that hard to drill. Went in about I/4 inch then switched to 9/64 to go a little more. The 5/32 barely got a bite and the bolt broke loose and spun out. Replaced both with new galvanized bolts and washers I picked up at Lowe's last week. Only took about 45 minutes. It's 55 degrees so didn't even need a coat and the snow is disappearing fast..

Truthfully...............no. Depending on your answer, maybe I will for the first time in my life.

WooHoo! Feels good to know the job has been completed correctly, huh? PITA though. Oh, well.

Looks like Mamaw will spend one more night in the hospital. She should come home tomorrow.
Yay! I suspect she was very dehydrated.

Mine always explode. Was funny the other day, we had some in the microwave and they were doing that whine/whistle noise and hubby was freaking out...guess he'd never heard them do that before.

Oh that IS good news Papaw. She must take it easy though, let her lungs recover, and that can take a while.

Papaw, so glad your wife will be home soon (and very proud of you for mastering that laundry basket, and carrying the purse).

David.. so glad that bolt is out and everything is back where it should be!

Just got home from a SuperBowl party. What a snooze of a game. Hopefully it’s picking up now.

Soooo...patriots again. Haven’t rooted for them, but since the guy next to me at the bar was a pats fan - maybe the only one around here- I’m at least happy for him

Anyways. Gotta decide if ppo or hsa is a good option for me. Figured i would’ve figured it out after the weekend. I didn’t. Thinking hsa ain’t too bad. Gotta make my circles tomorrow... if only i knew

I went with the HSA option, and after the first year, it has been great. If you are older, and mostly healthy, you can use your HSA money to pay for things that insurance rarely covers for adults. I use mine to pay for eyeglasses (bifocals & prescription sunglasses) and dental (perio maintenance and expensive "old person" issues). If/when I need hearing aids, I can use the money for those too.

It has tax benefits like a retirement savings account, and if you don't spend the money, it keeps adding up. The first few months were harder because I didn't have much money in the account to pay for my services, but now that I have a decent balance in there, it has been nice to have.

If you have a lot of pharmacy charges, or need more frequent medical care, the PPO might be the better choice for the lower co-pays and fixed charges on the medical side. I've had a few cases of sticker shock when I got a medical bill that was much higher that I expected because the insurance lets them bill for more money on the HSA plan.
