LA has your snow melted yet?

I will be glad when this storm moves out of here. The ground is totally saturated again, and pooling up. This morning we had so much rain come down at once that it was shocking. (even for my area) It didn't last too long, but when it was doing this it was some of the hardest rain I have ever witnessed. Outside of my house the water looks like a small river on top of the grass. (on one side) Then I have another big pool right in the front of the house.

The dogs and I have cabin fever, I think. It should clear up later today, somewhat. Tomorrow may be sunny.

Snow is only hanging about in shady spots on roofs and alongside building walls. All roofs here are curved terra cotta shingles. By Thursday we are supposed to reach 70 degrees! I will be glad for the break from the cold!

Coffee time....

Closing in on flood stage here. Not bad yet but sections of our road are close. One spot the creek is 2 feet from the road.

The river isn't too bad, thank goodness, but the roads in several places have water running over them pretty solid, especially our road, so we might wash out before morning.

We went grocery shopping today, missing yesterday's crowds. Town was quiet and that was awesome.

Dreary here today too. I went to a local park yesterday for a run. It was nice. The hiking trails were too muddy so I just ran around the park. I went to do the Heritage trail this morning, but backed out with drizzle and 38 degrees. I put some steaks in marinade for tonight, made 3 mini lasagnas and a batch of sausage balls.. Froze those for later. Also made Ree Drummonds peanut butter pie for the hubs. It's easy, and amazing..

Good thing you are each other’s sunshine! Food sounds yummy. Pass the pie! :D

I’ve got chicken marinating for Indian masala. Can’t wait. I spent the morning pounding out the chicken because we got a great deal on it. My freezer now has lots of panko crusted chicken for quick meals. Now I chill out for a bit, then prep dinner. We’ve both been cooking all day!

But I didn’t try to go for a run. Recall: If I’m running, you should too because something BAD is chasing me.

    Dreary day here folks.

Dull dreary rainy day. Yard is clay soup. Urlacher is depressed, no play time the last couple of days.
Saturday us "Eat Out at Home" night. Stromboli from our favorite Italian carry-out.
NO! Don't do it Hula!

the pie.. Oreo crust with chopped up Reese's peanut butter cups on top.. So bad, so GOOD..

@Hulamoon thanks for refraining about your 'dreadful' weather!

@LAwaters I have many friends that use that saying, DH included.. I did do a short yoga video. Space is pretty limited in the 5th wheel for much else.

We are through with the rain for now. It starts back with chances Monday, and for several days again. This afternoon it was very warm and somewhat windy. Tomorrow it drops over 10 degrees. I felt lousy all day, so I took a long nap, that seemed to help. I just finished a mug of Earl Grey tea, and that helped too.

LA, I don't run either. Same thing goes for me as what you said. If you see me running, don't ask why just run in the direction I'm going. The last time I actually ran, I had ground wasps hot on my trail. I got stung many times before I got clear of the evil creatures.

That saying is an oldie but goodie. I saw it years ago, maybe on a t-shirt. It is perfectly captures my feeling so about running! It’s a particular love and I admire it. I just didn’t get that gene. Dang, that pie sounds good!

Nothing like a nap! I haven’t had Earl Grey tea in a long, long time. My favorite brand was Gevalia. Something about their balance of tea to bergamot that was just perfect for me. Someone who knew I loved it gave me a gift of loose leaf Earl Grey. It didn’t do it for me. My palate was probably ruined by entry level Gevalia!

Ground wasps are the worst! Back when I was around 20 I went hiking with my ex and a couple other people. Ex stepped into the fork of a small tree and smack into a ground wasp nest! He nearly went into shock. I had on thigh high leg warmers (it was the 80’s!) and they saved me. Wasps were all over the leg warmers! I ran then. He wasn’t so lucky - they clung to his leg hair and stung him over and over.

Wow. Glad he didn't go into anaphylactic shock!
