My Mountain
Dreary here today too. I went to a local park yesterday for a run. It was nice. The hiking trails were too muddy so I just ran around the park. I went to do the Heritage trail this morning, but backed out with drizzle and 38 degrees. I put some steaks in marinade for tonight, made 3 mini lasagnas and a batch of sausage balls.. Froze those for later. Also made Ree Drummonds peanut butter pie for the hubs. It's easy, and amazing..

I was actually eyeing that pie recipe earlier, that really is a coincidence..

I decided I didn't need the calories so I gave up on the idea, but not so much that I closed the tab for the recipe... lol.

Wow. Glad he didn't go into anaphylactic shock!

It was a close call. We should have had a first aid kit with us. We were miles into the woods. Typical dumb kids. We found a spring and packed the stings with mud, then waited for the toxins to pass. Thankfully that worked.

We had used our jackets to beat the wasps off of him. Back home that night the other guy put on his jacket and yelled “Ow!!!” Doggone wasp had hidden in his collar for hours and got him. They are evil little critters!

Nothing like a nap! I haven’t had Earl Grey tea in a long, long time. My favorite brand was Gevalia. Something about their balance of tea to bergamot that was just perfect for me. Someone who knew I loved it gave me a gift of loose leaf Earl Grey. It didn’t do it for me. My palate was probably ruined by entry level Gevalia!

Ground wasps are the worst! Back when I was around 20 I went hiking with my ex and a couple other people. Ex stepped into the fork of a small tree and smack into a ground wasp nest! He nearly went into shock. I had on thigh high leg warmers (it was the 80’s!) and they saved me. Wasps were all over the leg warmers! I ran then. He wasn’t so lucky - they clung to his leg hair and stung him over and over.

I've never heard of Gevalia. Something tells me it will be more expensive, just by the name. I will look for it, when I am out and about. I haven't tried loose leaf Earl Grey.

I've had two episodes with ground wasps, and neither was a good situation. The first time I was just a kid, and I got stung all over. It is hard to avoid the ground wasps, since you don't always know you are disturbing them until it is too late. I have another nest in my flower garden. I found that out when I was trying to weed it. Needless to say that area doesn't get weeded anymore, it just isn't worth it. I am allergic to them to top it off. I haven't got any new Epi-pens because the price is so high.

Gevalia started off as a mail order coffie company, then they started carrying teas and now it can be found in select food stores... I used to get gevalias coffie via mail order but at that point the "savings" didnt kick in until one purchased 65$+ of product per month ( about 4 lbs of coffie) .... once they quit carrying the Blue Mountain type I cancelled the account... plus at that time, there were dozens of coffie shops opening up that carried hi end coffies and the prices were a bit lower than what Gevalia wanted for the same quality.

Epi-pen prices are a manifestation of the greed that is consuming the country. Profit, yes; recover research costs, yes; gouge the consumer forever, no.

Morning army! Have been sick off and on the last few weeks, since Ohio can't decide what season we are actually in and people refuse to stay home when sick. Started with what I think was the flu, I cant get the vaccine so rely on others getting it but of course they dont. Let alone the petri dish the kids bring home daily. Anyway yeah just wasnt very talkative lol but glad to see everyone, have been trying to keep up

There's your exercise!

I’m sure I look especially hilarious because I fling my arms around and pop up onto my toes. Trying to work all the muscles. Then I get lost in the music and forget about muscle groups. Singing along works my breathing. It’s not as easy as it used to be!

If Big Brother is watching, someone got a good long laugh! ;)

Exactly! They started off with okay prices. When it kept creeping up, I cancelled. At the end I was only ordering their tea. We had better coffee available locally even in rural PA.

I just learned that pharma companies have greatly reduced R&D departments. They use universities and other research facilities. The taxpayer helps to subsidize the cost of research. Officials describe that as a type of “investment” but we taxpayers never receive any return from the massive profits. Instead we are price gouged and cannot afford life saving medications. It is all utterly shameful and evil.

I used to get Gevalia a long time ago. Got some from the grocery store a few years back and it didn't seem as good as it used to. Now I get from Black Rifle. Personal favorite is the Blackbeard's Delight. Also really good with a little rum splashed in.

Hey cool! I just looked them up. They have a location here in Vegas. It’s near the Strip - which I avoid. I’d stick to online ordering. I used to love Columbian coffee. Lately I’m addicted to Bali from Coffee Bean, which is Indonesian. They don’t always have it in stock, so this is good to know! Thanks.

You're welcome. I think they use Brazilian beans, but still very good. I miss the Ethiopian Yrgacheffe I used to get from my local place, but they raised their prices so high, and sometimes I'd go in and they wouldn't even have it. If you join the coffee club at Black Rifle, every bag is discounted, the Blackbeards is $2.50 off a bag, you can set up how much and how often it gets delivered, and shipping is free that way too. I get 2 bags every 30 days since it's just for me (and my son when he comes to visit ). I also like that they're veteran owned, not soyboys.
