My apologies if asking about cost is rude! I'm trying to figure out if buying a $60 model would be a waste, and better to save for a slightly more expensive one. If it were $25 like your new toothbrush, it'd be an easier decision. :)

Not rude at all, it's been a while since she got the last and neither of us recall the price. She is just sold on the thing. If it goes up in smoke, she'll get another.

It's not rude to ask cost....

How much your going to spend is going to depend on how much use you believe it will see..

Food Saver the brand has different models, its usually best for most people to purchase the middle priced model - the model that is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive.

I would go with a known brand like Food Saver....easier to find bags on the cheap.

If you get a chance and wouldn’t mind letting me know the model number that’d be much appreciated. I looked all the way up to the $200 model. Amazon reviews are hard to trust. A lot of them seem like fake reviews.

But eventually I’ll just have to take a chance. :)

Many of the Amazon reviews are written by blockheads. But if you read thru enough of them you find credible ones you connect with that address your specific concerns.

You’re right about that. I’m going to look for any blog posts and YT videos about it too. Almost as good as word of mouth. All of you here are my favorite resource though. I know I can trust everyone here. :)

I research things like that to death before I buy. I drive myself crazy.. :lol:Just remember you can probably return it for a different one almost anywhere if you don't like it.

Hmmm... I should get one.
First a new power toothbrush, then the food saver.

welllll its Mardi Gras time... ( I really dislike MG) got sent on a run to a very popular MG place... took 3 hrs to navigate thru/around the traffic, road blocks and drunks who think the middle of the street is a good place to casually walk ( at a snails pace) took me 3 hrs to do a delivery that normally takes 40 minutes, I even had to drive an additional 17 miles just to get around the parade route... and the GPS was fussin all the time that I need to make all sorts of U turns to get "back on track"... finally got tired of hearing the GPS telling me Imadumazz and turned it off and did the Googlemap thing rerouting my entire trip...

told the dispatcher that if they want me to continue doing this I am going to get 200% of the base price... needless to say they had an issue with this. What amazed me was that of all of the 105 drivers employed by the company didnt answer the phones or turned down the run... so I was called as a last resort ( Im the long distance driver, not the short locals) I asked the dispatcher what gives and he told me he can count on me ( I saw thru that BS line as soon as he said it)... needles to say, the work got accomplished and I told him that I wont be available for short runs until Wendsday morning... :) he wasnt happy

V3820 is the model she is using; it has bells and whistles that she rarely uses. She likes to vac mason jars and sometimes like to use the re-usable bags that can be opened like a zip lock bag - we have a bunch of those around and various sizes of make you bags.
PS I looked on Amazon and didn't see any that looked like her's, ours must be old.
