Well done! Pretty amazing how quickly you’re up and about. I’m still surprised you were able to go home that night. I hope all goes well at your appointment. I’ll keep praying for good news from the pathology reports. I hope the boredom has eased up!

Better home than the hospital, she'll be safer.
@MostlySunny Best to you, here's hoping this goes well.

It is good to be a good neighbor, I hope your efforts are appreciated, that is going to be a big job with hard wood. Wish I was near by, we could have at that sucker.

How’s your clearing project going? Seems like you’re holding up well.

I have no idea of the quality of red oak. As a fan of oak furniture, it’s a shame to think of it being only good for burning. Though I know it’s an excellent firewood.

Yeah, he’s pretty lucky I’m his neighbor. He’s mid 70s with a heart monitor so he’s slowed way down. If it were up to him he’d move to an assisted place but his wife doesn’t want to move and we know who the boss is. Already started cutting it. Took a giant limb off a smaller hickory that it was bending over.

Time to call Eustace!
I’m Eustace. :)

Hello! Day 3 post op and I’m finally feeling like the anesthesia fog is clearing. I went for 2 short walks yesterday, today I’m hoping for 3. I still don’t have a ton of energy or anything, but moving about outside feels good.

I’ll have a post op appointment tomorrow, hoping I get the ok to shower. He’ll take of the dressings and decide what to do.

I’m very relieved to be feeling so good.never needed more than Tylenol and Motrin for pain.

It’s going to be a long week waiting for those pathology reports.

I'm so glad your doing so well! Yea!

And the week will fly by, just keep your mind occupied. :)

You remember the Peavy you cited me to? I got a used one with a log stand, very nice, very.

Howdy, Eustace.

Red oak is beautiful and durable.

Oh no I’m terribly bored. I made a few phone calls today and made plans to have people stop by this week. It feels good to talk. It’s tiring, but I think it works my lungs better.
2 walks down, a few small meals, lots of water.. went to Supercuts for a $5 hair wash. I couldn’t stand myself anymore. Had a friend take me. Feeling a little more human.

Well CMD, looks like I gotta break out the chainsaw again. My neighbor had a big ole red oak come down behind his house in the woods. It was a full grown, dead one. Took out a couple white oak limbs on its way down. He'll be obsessing about it and since he's my charity case I may as well just sign myself up now. I have more firewood than I'll ever know what to do with.

if you stack it just right.... its a great source of termite food ;)

Hey, that was a great idea to go to Supercuts! I never would have thought of that. That’s a good friend who took you too. I’m glad you have friends nearby to visit you.

I have a lovely red oak I planted when I was pregnant with my son. My dad came over and helped me. I used to have a huge hackberry there, but I had it cut down. The red oak is large now and provides all the shade you need in the summer heat. My son used to climb in that tree. He used an old garden hose for a rope. Do kids even climb trees anymore? I guess I will find out soon enough when my grandsons get older. They are already working on communication with each other. Next they will be problem solving as a team. That is when it will get scary for a while.

we had a sycamore tree in the back yard when I was a kid... it was probably 70+ feet tall and if you climbed all the way to the top one could see the drive in movie screen....

dad was wondering why I climbed trees at night for a week... Barbarella was playing that week... ;)
he finally caught on and put an end to nite time climbing during "certain" weeks ( the ones in which the R rated movies were playing)
