I iz tired.... got to work to pick up the "Company van"... and there was a rental agreement paper on top of my normal paperwork...
I was like White Turkey Feathers??? 70$ to "rent" it for the nite and I had to cover the gas used... ( which was 35$ worth... and I thought my van got bad gas mileage)

next time my van has an issue, Im gonna let them know that its out of commission and they will have to find someone else to do it for that nite... ( Im the only one trained on how to do the run)...
and once they ( actually me) do train someone, ( and that someone will be a company guy) they will do it once and never again... for some reason, "company guys" will find this run under paid and over worked and during the wrong hours...

sometimes its more profitable to turn down a run than to "rent" and cover the gas used... BUT, the job got completed, the customer will be happy, and I can now enjoy my Guinness

time for a hot shower and about 3 hrs of sleep...

I left the lids off for days, except for 2 times a day, when I put them back on and shook the bottle. Still reeked of alcohol. So, took the lids off again. Rinse and repeat. Until about 2 months later when I filed them in the trash can. A friend of mine had the same experience.

Has anything changed, or are we the only people who have experienced this?

I never heard of that before. They use alcohol in their NET extractions but there is only a trace of it in their final mix and that evaporates out quickly. What flavors did you get?

Several years ago, I used HHV exclusively. I did not have that experience. I now make my own for economic reasons and use Dragon's Fire for a little flavor in my squonk. Back then, I got some flavors that I didn't care for but nothing like you experienced.

The NETs have alcohol in them but they are really just a trace and they evaporate in short order. Don't know about the other flavors. Lori can find out for you. I suspect what you might be tasting is the base PG/VG. People react differently to vendor's base flavor. I know I do. There are vendors I simply cannot vape because every one of their menu offerings have that same offputting flavor. I always attributed it to their base. I always found HHV's base flavor to be neutral. In fact, I never had a vendor hit the bullseye with their stated flavors like HHV. Doesn't mean I like them all but if they say it tastes like key lime then I know it will taste like key lime. But again, everyone is different and they pick up on flavors differently. I would suggest you try an 18ml bottle of one flavor and see if you have the same/different experience. What you described from years ago does not seem normal to me.

Hi @Horselady154! I’m glad you stopped in to ask. @Bronze is correct that we all have different sensitivities and experience flavors differently.

I checked with Heather about your question on the flavorings. She said anything with menthol might be an issue for you. Also the NETs, though leaving the caps off usually resolves it.

Our tastebuds do change the longer we are away from cigs too. When I first tried Dragon’s Fire, I was sure I tasted anise flavor in it, which I don’t like. DF has no anise, but 3 times I tried DF and still tasted it. Now I vape DF all day everyday and wonder how I ever thought it had anise flavor.

Other than menthol and NETs, none of the flavors used has any aroma or taste of alcohol. Over the years the recipes did change here and there to improve them by making them more authentic tasting.

There’s a good likelihood that you would enjoy HHV this time. As Ed said, an 18 mL bottle would be a good test.

well... another snafu insues... had a 9 am "appointment" at the windshield place, get there for 8:30 ish sign in and begin to wait... and wait... and wait... 10:30 rolls around and they havent even taken a look at the van. I ask the sales rep about the scheduling for my van... she tells me it will be about another 3 hrs before they can get to it... and it takes 2 hrs to do the work.... ( it would have done by 3-4pm...)

so I rescheduled for 8am Monday.... and Im gonna let the wifey take the van in ... ( since she was the one who set up everything in the first place)

Customer service sure ain’t what it used to be. That’s insane!

I’m also stunned at how poorly the company you drive for treats you. A business like that should know that their most valuable asset is their drivers! Charging $70 to rent their van has me shaking my head. I could see them not wanting their “less reliable” drivers to take advantage of them. But your extra licensing and your track record should make them show more appreciation.

So many “should be’s” in the world. I “should” probably stop being outraged.

It’s been 5 months since my last hair salon visit. The time before that had been over a year.

We did have a chat (hairstylist and I) what we could do if I lost all my hair. All sorts of cute styles I’d otherwise never be brave enough to try.

That's good planning! Having a stylist you trust helps a lot.

Having voluntarily gone buzz for three years (after a long, long period of wearing my hair long), I can tell you it was fun to do something radical if you can embrace it and own it. It's true, you might like it -- and that's one less thing to stress about.
