I agree, if politics rules every decision I make then I would subscribe to no streaming service.

John Mellencamp captured it with this lyric:

“I know there’s a balance... I see it when I swing past.”

Or much of anything else. Avoid what you can, minimize what you can't.

And always always remember that everything we watch is embedding itself in us. The POV of the creators of any media will — after repeated exposure — work an effect on us.

If that was not true, it would be impossible to educate us in any way about anything.

Knowing that, we need to protect our minds by being careful about what we watch.

In Denver, YouTube TV has most of the local network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS), but they are in a similar arrangement as the cable companies as far as paying for the local guys (or not). They haven't picked up all of the local channels, so YMMV.

Yea, I should have dome a little more research first, but TCL Roku 4K televisions were on sale at the local Walmart. Saved money, but YouTube and Roku are in dispute, and the newer Roku TV's are not accepting YouTubeTV.
Hulu, on the other hand, costs the same, is built right into the TV, and has more of the channels/ networks that Mamaw likes. Happy Wife, Happy Life.
I am giving up the NFL Network (goodbye, Kay Adams) but I will still get the Panthers and all of the nationally televised games. Which means I will get to see my Ravens play maybe a half-dozen times during the regular season.
Other than the sports networks, the only other advantage YouTune has over Hulu is unlimited storage for recorded shows. And for the same price, Mamaw gets more of what she wants.
I will still be saving well over $100/ Month (even more during football season) so it'll have to work.

I've been trying Roku, Tubi and the basic Hulu. Plenty of old movies, but she wants local channels too.
Try to search your locals on Roku channel store. One of our locals has a Roku channel and you can livestream their signal from it.

If you decide it isn't working, and if you have a working Amazon Fire stick and a non-Roku TV with an open HDMI port, I think you could load the YouTube TV onto the Fire Stick (on the non-Roku TV) so the program would run off the Amazon device instead of the Roku TV. Plug the Fire stick into an open HDMI port on your new TV and then access it by telling the TV to open the HDMI port, open YTTV on the Fire Stick, watch your shows. It would be a lot of clicky buttons, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

On the other hand, maybe by football season, Roku and YTTV will kiss and make up. I think Prime also broadcasts some NFL games, so you might have access to a few more games over there too. I'm not into football, so I don't know all of the tips and tricks for getting the games across the league.

And when she's done with your shed she needs to get her .... over here and build me a detached garage.

I would just like a cold beer [not too picky on a brand], a ham sandwich on rye, [I am a simple man with simple needs] light on the mustard - hold the mayo.

Why does this post remind me of a Billy Idol song, "Dancing with Myself" ?
His post-race celebration combined with memories of his Dancing with the Stars routine, reminded me of the little  guys. I was almost as happy about his 4th Indy as he was.

Evening.... Well it did clear up this afternoon so I can get the yard mowed tomorrow. Didn't do much today which was fine... Was going to go to Costco and buy a TV. But I decided to wait a little longer... Right now the Sony 65A80J OLED is what I'm looking at. The hold back is the price. $2500 with the extended warranty included. It's not all that high just more than I was planning to spend. I'll get it or something else soon because I'm more than ready to upgrade...
