How long after you started vaping did you quit smoking cigarettes?

How it went for me..

( I had little/no success with the Ecigs that look like cigarettes, my personal success was virtually immediate after I switched to the Ego (i use vision clearomizers). Keep in mind that there is a little maintenance, and if you're like me, you won't look at the videos right away; I would suggest you do so! It really is fairly simple to clean them, and if you're informed and know how they basically work you can keep your equip running for the longest time possible.)

At first I found myself still wanting to smoke, especially when I smelled cigarettes. I had an old pack "just in case," and though I puffed on a few in the beginning, as the first two weeks went by I found myself increasingly aversed to cigarettes. I was beginning to hate the smell, and couldn't even take a few puffs. About three weeks later, I realized I much, much preferred what I like to call my "personal mini hooka," and I have no desire to smoke cigs ever again, in fact the smell and consequences (breathing and otherwise) gross me out, and I smoked for 15 years. Now I can taste, smell, and breathe better and better as time goes by, not to mention that cancer already runs rampantly in my family and that the smoke is harmful for pets as well when they are subjected to second hand. *If you feel like you are withdrawing, and really still want cigs don't be afraid to up your nic levels a little bit.*

So to give you a short answer, absolutely. Mentally the first two weeks are the hardest to get used to the change, but if I can do it, I can only imagine how much hope there is for other people too.

I, like many others on here, quit almost immediately after getting my gear. I started vaping right when my batteries were charged, smoked 1 analog that night, and one the next night. Have been vaping happily now for almost three weeks. I too LOVE this vice. I could never say that about smoking. And I dont even really consider it a vice, rather just a hobby that I am heavily invested in.

As you can see I have been here for quite some time and still have not completely quit!

Started with a 510 kit because of wanting to have something that resemble a normal cigarette. Worked fairly well for a week, but quickly tired of the low battery capacity and small juice capacity. Tried cartomizers but still didn't have the battery. Gave up for a while.

Started lurking around here again and discovered the eGo. Thought that looked like the answer! Bought some gear and tried again. Worked great for a while, but my juice started tasting nasty. Changed atomizers, batteries, and tried a couple tanks. Nothing helped! Partially went back to the dark side.

Finally realized it must have been my taste buds changing. Mixed together some other flavors and found a mix I could stand.

Keep trying, and unlike me ASK QUESTIONS!!!!! I could have saved myself so much time if I had just opened up to the members of this forum.

I started with disposables, just a spur of the moment thing, on December 20, 2012. I was smoking about 10 analogs a day then, and cut down to about 4 per day right away. I held there for about 10 days while I also got my e-cig learning and supplies strong, then I cut down to 0 over a couple of days. Over the next 10 days I did have 3 more cigarettes, but they were becoming pretty disgusting. None since then, about 91 days now.

One of my last analogs was just so perfect though. You know, one of those very, very rare smokes where it is just totally delightful; no bad tastes, no harshness, no stinging fumes, a good buzz, every puff a breath of delicious smoky air, lots of quiet reflection, everything seems in a state of grace. I guess I use that memory as a way to say a fond goodbye to the parts of smoking that I did love. That 1-in-a-1000 divine experience just isn't worth it though, and I am not quite that same person who enjoyed it.

I got a gas station e-cig and quit within a few days. I kinda wish I had gotten a good supply of juice and several batteries before I began. Looking back, it would have been a lot easier. I was actually holding my breath waiting for the battery to recharge. But it was part of the learning curve. After a couple of weeks I lit an analog and it tasted like a sip of raw sewage. I could never go back.

Hello Everyone! I'm new here:)
I bought a VIP kit from my town centre. Thought it was a good thing at the time. I will praise them that they have stopped me smoking, although I will say after the first intial experience I went back to normal cigarettes:( So I gave it another try and again got ripped off by the VIP guy, not knowing any better. I even asked him if the cartridges were refillable?? He said they were a sealed unit and couldn't be refilled! What a JOKE! i Already knew the answer before I asked him. Sort of testing his integrity.
Anyway I then spent another £30.00 on another E-Cig from a shop in the same town which you can get all the flavoured juice and I love it! I'm smoke free for 5 weeks now! Strawberry is my favorite at the moment. VIP and all these other type of look a like cigarettes can put you off E-Cigs.
Another thing I found was when I first stopped with the smoke cigarettes, I still got really bad cold turkey. The pain in my neck was so bad I couldn't hardly turn my head. So it make's me wonder is there anything else in the conventional cigarette that keeps you addicted?
Happy Vaping!!

I started vaping with the intention to reduce (rather than quit) the amount of cigarettes I was smoking. I went from a pack a day to about 3 cigs a day after 3 weeks. Vaping worked so well I decided to stop smoking altogether after about 4 weeks just to see if I could do it. It worked. About a year and a half now smoke-free.

I quit immediately. I went from analogs straight to electronic and haven't looked back. I was given an electronic cigarette (Gas station variety) by a neighbor. I tried it right away and thought it was definitely possible to quit by using the ecig. I smoked my last cigarette and went right to the electronic one. I have since bought a few different ecigs, and am currently looking to upgrade again.
