I haven't seen it (in person) but that browny colour sounds and looks like it might be a dark varnish. Standard stainless steel or chrome underneath? It's possible to use a varnish on metal and have it last years. My tenor sax looks nearly as good now as it did when I bought it and that's more years than I like to think about. The place I bought my Vamo V2 doesn't carry anything but the S/S version.

I don't see why the Vambois (?!) should get upset, it's a well known fact they got this badly wrong. I notice they have "gunmetal chrome" for the V3 but don't know if it's any better.

I've seen a couple of different mods (sorry no links) that look like they are based on the V3 with the Oled display. The only other major difference for the V3 is that they've finally dropped AVG mode. We might see a bit more variation i styles in the next few months.

These sorts of Vambois hang out in the new members forum, not the Vamo sub-forum. They haven't them long enough to show any wear.

As far as the finish, it's wearing down to a matte silver/grey base. I don't know what it's made of. sigelei it going to make a Vamo soon, I'm curious to see of they will make any changes to it.

Catch up time for Sir Chimps!!!

I don't understand how USPS can "Process through the sort facility" AFTER something has departed:

ISC SAN FRANCISCO (USPS)

This is most likely due to the four (I think it's four) customs facilities at the San Fran port. Each time it processes through part of the customs stations, it will update to processed through/departed in my experience. My orders from fasttech have all taken about 3 days to get out of the customs hole and move onto an update at a different city's USPS facility.

It's amazing. I've only had the Vamo for about 3 months and the finish has worn off on the side where I grip it with my fingers. It's gun metal, which I learned was the worst finish after I ordered it. It's always felt sticky, but I didn't realize the coating was wearing away. When I read there were problems with the finish I assumed it meant scratching.

Just one more thing I can't mention in the new members forum without being flamed by Vambois.

My chrome (was supposed to be the stainless version as that's the SKU I ordered when fasttech debuted the VAMO, but I digress) VAMO V2 is also showing the wear marks on the opposite side of the button from my hands. I am beginning to think that a skin of some type is in order in the coming weeks as this wear will only likely continue to grow.

In semi-related news, the MKB-TS is actually a pretty nice little mech mod from the few weeks I've had to use it/learn with it. Being a GGTS clone means that there is a little bit of learning as to how many 510 extenders/adapters are needed to still take advantage of the air-flow control ring, but now that I've settled in with a shorty 510 extender and a 510-EGO adapter daisy-chained together, I am able to get things to "flush mount" on the top of the "collector tank." I am really enjoying the vape from the mech side of the street, although the VAMO is still the "work"horse while the MKB stays at home with the AGAs. :D

Myrany, I'll 3rd the request that you continue to grace us with your presence as life allows (I remember you said you were going to be a little MIA gaming with your sis). It's just not the same around here without the Cajun Duchess spicing things up a notch. BAM!! (see what I did there )

I'm guessing it's brushed S/S then. If it really was chrome it would bright.

Could me modded into your very own Octopus PV.. for vape meets.. or.. who knows what
octodeezer_test_size.png

Not sure if an Ocelot and an octopus would make such great companions. But that thing is kind of cool, don't think I would ever own one, unless it was just for the novelty of it.

Vamo is known to have issues with the finish, fanboy or not there is a good chance that as a Vamo owner they will have to deal with it sooner or later. The SS should be good, although I guess that is a crap shoot also.

I do admit that as far as bang for the buck, Vamo is hard to beat for those wanting to try more advanced APV's. Add the simple menu and the ability to use 18350 or 18650 batteries and it becomes even more attractive.
