To me the problem of suggesting advanced setups with VV/VW, changable batteries, cartotanks, rba's, and such is new people most likely have no clue what they are getting into and will get overwhelmed. Not to mention the finger shock of instantly going from a thin analog to a giant chrome dildo looking thingy. If you dump everything on them at once they may get frustrated and go back to analogs...and nobody wants that.

In fact, many people have to be coaxed into the deep end. First you give them an El-cheapo cig-a-like and if they seem to like it, you then tell them there is something better but requires a bit more tinkering and maintenance and introduce them to a eGo/eGo-Twist type battery and a refillable device. Once they realize the vape is worth the hassle of refilling THEN they will be ready for something more advanced.

Satisfied customer doesnt always translate to an educated one either..just sayin.

Yep, total noob here. Don't know what I was thinking. If only I'd finished third grade....I'd know how to insult others AND have a cool nude avatar.

What makes you think I'm not educated.

As someone who loves my Provari's I don't think that they're for everyone. I also don't think they should be recommended to all noobs. I know that some purchased there's in the beginning but I don't think it's always best. I went through a couple of pv's before I purchased mines but that doesn't mean I think everyone should get one. I think whatever works for you is great! If it keeps you off analogs then go for it!

:toast:Everybody love everybody!!! :D I think it all varies on what the person is looking for in their PV i love my provari but some people want something more like an "eroll" and there is nothing wrong with that luckily there is plenty of exploring to be done in this vape world we live in. I could care less what anyone uses as long as we all end up in the same place far away from the cigs.:p

Your grammar and debate skills. Not to mention your lack of reading comprehension.

Just for the record:

I was not saying that Pro-thingys aren't WONDERFUL and FABULOUS and THE BEST THING EVER. My original premise is that every time a new member who CLEARLY states that they have only experienced 7-11 disposables requests help on what to purchase as a first rig, Provari fanboys jump in and say "Just get a Provari, dude...best thing ever, you don't know what vaping is unless you get one..." on and on ad infinitum. I believe that dispensing that type of advice to a NOVICE is a disservice.

That is my opinion. I don't need to be beaten over the head by fanatics about how ORGASMIC is the Provari experience. New members would be better served by advising purchasing a reliable and versatile 510 threaded Ego type battery.

I think it's great there are so many people here willing to help out the newcomers. I haven't even had to start my own thread yet because there is always so many threads to already read that are helpful to n00bs.

My vaping story: I'm so glad to have my VV spinner and have a Vamo on the way. The Vamo has been more desirable to me personally after spending a couple of weeks reading stuff here. Also watching Pbusardo, GrimmGreen, even Vape Girl vids. They helped me see that perhaps a VV + VW APV instead of a more expensive, VV only, Prothingamajiggy (that I wasn't sure if it rhymed with Ferrari or not) would most likely be the one for me. Haven't even had a chance to try it yet, but I am hopeful that it will work for me. Then I will have a spinner for a backup. If the Provari peeps come out with a new device with cool features or options down the road, that may become the thingy for me.

I want to say Bravo, thank you, and hugs to chellemmm, The Ocelot, Katya, Vapoor, EddieAdams, and Chimney (there are others, sorry for those I left out) I love the passion and caring they put into helping others here, they offer the new people options and choices AND they do it without getting much appreciation in return from what I've seen. I can only hope to be that helpful, knowledgeable, caring down the road for potential newcomers. Let us not forget that lives are at stake, smoking was killing me, don't know about you, now I have a chance to really "live" again.

Now when is someone going to tell ME to get a Provari?! I'm kind of jealous...lol

Oh boy!!! The weekly provari hate thread! It's a conspiracy I tell you! Provari's are no better than cigalikes! Yeah, whatever...

You know what I read the thread I believe the OP is referring to. It has nothing to do with hating provari. For me anyway the head explosion came from the rude flaming people going back and forth. What an impression to give a newbie that is!

If the newbie wasn't confused enough to begin with the really viscous arguments would have finished the job.

BTW I reread that thread earlier there were alot of posts that got deleted by the mods. It was THAT bad.

Well speaking as a newbie/noob I can say that IF I had came here first trying to learn about vaping and was told to get a Prov I would have been scared off by the cost of the device.

The vv and the vw I could (and have) researched to figure out what those terms meant so that wouldn't have scared me off but I have the advantage of being a geek and am quite used to researching terms like that. A non geek noob would have had his eyes glaze over at those terms and what they mean.

Most, when they ask for help, are just wanting something simple and something that doesn't take a chunk out of their paycheck to get. :)

Now that I've gotten over the new-ness of vaping I must admit I am looking at those higher priced devices. Will I get a Prov? Not sure yet but I'm not ruling it out. :)

Hahahaha. I didn't know there was this big thing about the Provari. I've only been vaping for a month, but hubby has been for 3 years. For me, it's all about the toys. I love to tinker and love gadgets. I did a lot of research on my own and have mostly figured out all the volts and ohms and flux capacitors. Am I in over my head? Perhaps, but I have a little disposal income for my toys. LOL!

So, neener. Seriously, I just want to check it out. If I hate it, I can sell it and get more egos (I only have 4 - told you, I have a problem)

Having said THAT, hubby loves gadgets too, but he's more of the "plug and play" type of guy when it comes to stuff where I like to tinker more. If he had come here and people told him to get a Provari (no one told me to LOL - I found it on my own) he would have been scared off by it, I think.

I don't think there are 'provari fanboys' and 'provari haters' , just people who own them and people who don't. Because everyone who owns one knows how great it is and anyone that doesn't own one doesn't get it yet.

Sold mine a week after getting it. Your solid theory has just been flakked out of the sky sir...

Like everything else; cars, motorcycles, computers, whatever, it's all subjective. chadsmo's opinion is he likes the Prov, Euphonious Nonsense appears to have not enjoyed his experience with it. Everyone has an opinion and someone will disagree with it. That is a fact. :D

The question is should it be recommended to a brand new user? My opinion is no. However it may be right for this user later on.

Here is an example: I own a Harley and love it dearly. It is not my first bike. My first bike was not a Harley and neither were the next two. Each bike taught me several things about riding and when it came time to buy my latest ride I chose to move up to the big boys club. It is my opinion that a HD is the best motorcycle out there. Believe me when I say that there are other bikers out there that strongly disagree. :D I wouldn't recommend my HD Ultra Classic to a noobie rider but I might recommend a Sportster. :)
