LOL! At first I thought the "Taryn spin" was about ice skating! I couldn't figure out why vapers were so "in" to ice skating!

Man, those days of going outside and inadvertently launching a cartomizer into the next block is not missed! But, it was a part of the process and I am glad I went through all of that.

You know I thought I was advanced when I accidentally discovered the reverse Taryn Spin to clear a cartomizer out and...wait for it... catch the juice back into a...wait for it...condom! Those terms.:lol::lol: So goofy, but hey, I wasn't smoking.

Keep away from kids without protective eyewear! It's totally unnecessary, but it does work. It works best if you hold a ProVari in your other hand. ;)

i thought i spent a lot of time on ecf...i dunno what a taryn spin is....i *think* i made up "dragon vaping" tho (but i prob didn't)
i was explaining to a newbie that you can cigar vape or dragon vape or both or in between

i skipped cigalikes and tanks...straight to clear pink thingy and black stick...today i got a fancier black stick (that looks like a light saber) with digital volt display/battery meter (same price as a twist or spinner! woohoo!)...so like myrany...i am a researcher...and based on myrany's time line i am 8 days from a vamo...and/or an unwanted wayward ProThingy that i adopt out of the kindness of my heart :)

Actually I would be happily vaping along on my ego-C batteries if I hadn't decided that I want to learn to rebuild my CE5 and protank attys. :p The vamo has the protection circuitry to avoid burning out the device if I make mistakes.

I picked vamo over the porthingy for 3 reasons. 1. Dead simple to use. 2. It has Variable wattage as well as variable voltage and honestly I like the idea of VW better. 3. Its only $60 not $200.

There is a wealth of information on this forum. Reviews can be found on practically all Mods and people should just do their due diligence and research instead of asking for which unit to get. This goes pretty much in all forums that deals with any sort of equipment. Go to a tech forum and you will see Android vs iOS, and Samsung vs Apple. Threads asking which is better invites nothing but fanboys.

To me, a product is only as good as its fanboys. They are the vocal few that makes their product look bad. Everyone has an opinion and with every opinion, someone is going to take offense. It is the vicious truth that is the internet.

Just my 2 cents.

Although I do agree with you in general principal. Many people totally new to vaping show up in the newbie part of the forum. They think they ARE doing the research and really wouldn't know where else to look.

I don't think it is all bad to council moderation in both our fanboi isms and potshot taking long enough to actually help them figure out what to look up.

Everyone who is a part of this forum is required to be 18+ (i believe) and thus an adult and any adult should be capable of doing their own research. I am sure a lot of new vapers stumble onto this forum while doing their research.

And I do agree that many people come here asking questions like "What is the best E-cig out there" thinking they are doing their own research. The answer to that can be a disposible E-cig found at a local gas station. That could be better to them than a Provari because that fits their needs perfectly.

The thing on research is when I was looking I finally figured out I was reading a lot of fake review sites and also getting the information from producers can paint an improper picture. The reality of information looked up is not always the most accurate.

I came into the forum with very specific requirements but didn't know what everything was except from fake review sites and manufacturer sites. Those things steered me in the wrong direction. My specific requirements match what I ended up with in the end. I went with what was recommended and was very disappointed in the results. My cigalikes actually did a better job for my situation than what I ended up with. I wish some happy users would have seen my posts telling me I was asking for something that existed. I felt I was being led to something that did not match what I was going to be doing.

After making several poor buying decisions I discovered the posts from some users and I saw what they had and it fit what I was looking for. There were several devices that would have fit what I said I wanted but those were not mentioned much. Before I finally made my choice I almost got a Silver Bullet with a kick, I almost got that after leaving the beginners area. I then ran into the fanboys and saw they had what they wanted.

Sometimes the newbies ask about these devices specifically. What is the harm in responding to them if they ask about a specific device or describe a device that is a tight fit for what they say they want?

On thread that had a mild dust-up in it the new member asked specifically about one of these. I assume he wanted a response from an owner of one. I don't want to trust a manufacturer or a false review site to tell me what I want. I want to hear what users think before I buy.

I agree with what you said. If it was not for hearing from people that owned the things i was looking for I might not have found what worked for me. When your new to this stuff the websites selling the items can be very daunting to understand or to figure out what exactly you need or will fit your wants. The people on this forum have helped me learn soooooooo much about the different setup and I learn something new all the time on here.
