I missed the Top Plastic.. now they are out of stock. I was going to order all new plastics and get the new o-rings to see if it fixes my leaking problem. I will have to wait now

With all the folks who melted theirs with the first couple of tanks I knew that piece would go fast. If you want to change out your gaskets let me know the sizes; I should have them

I finally figured out where the leak was coming from. I wrapped the lower delrin piece with teflon tape to see if this is in fact where the leak was coming from. If it is I figured the tape would absorb the juice the entire length of the tape. I filled it up and tightened everything up without any wick or wire and did the leak test as imeo explained. 30 mins later and about 10 drops of leakage I disassembled it and inspected the tape. The tape was colored by the juice only on the bottom half, so this leads me to think that the bottom plastic is sealing fine and the top plastic is the one causing the leak. I figure if it were the bottom plastic causing the leak the entire heighth of the tape would be colored by juice. Lucky for me I have a replacement of both plastics on the way from COV. I will test it with a new top piece to confirm my suspicions. On another note, I placed a 17/1 o-ring in the top cap as I was getting a little annoyed how the threads always seem to coated in juice every time I refill. this has made my threads nice and dry without any ill effects yet.

Something I noticed after several putting it together and taking everything apart. My iatty leaks whenever my twisted part of my R.wire and NR.wire is being coil around the plastic piece. Making it unable to screw tight enough and leaving a gap for the juice to slip in. So I make sure the wire that go around the plastic is just the NR.wire excess.

Although I havn't had a leak issue this is one of the biggest reason I want to start using crimp beads for making coils.

Can those folks who have been using the crimp beads make a video or take pics of the process?

We really should have a sticky of just vids, pics, and descriptions of how to use crimp beads and where to source them and the tools needed. It would also be nice to have in this sticky the different methods of making coils like the method for using wick on top of the coil for example.

The sticky should be closed so there is no banter, just the facts of how to do each task.

i believe that you can put wires on a table, put them inside the crimp bead and hit with a hammer. I also think that there is no problem if wires stick a little out of the crimp.

a sticky thread for Iatty tricks is not a bad idea repent

lol

I use a regular pair of needle nose pliers with knurled jaws. Feed the wires into the tube and then flatten it:

With the length of the tube
Then, across it so you get a "checkerboard" design.

Snip off any excess and wrap the wick

If you have two different diameter wires it's important you put some force on the pliers to make sure the tube is tight against the smaller diameter wire. I said at the beginning this is a challenging way to go, but it does work and you get better at handling the tubes with practice.
