The last days I am trying to figure, what is the best method/material of using the iatty ..
Fat wick, silica wick,Ssmesh...Wick inside the resistance, wick over the resistance... Burn wick before use etc etc....
I think I am lost in the threads ...
I thought that would be useful for the rest of us, to make a thread (sticky maybe) with successful wick setups ...Some foto/video guide would be great ...:vapor::vapor::vapor:

What do you think ??

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can't get the nextel wick in this country yet. I'm experimenting on the SS mesh. So far it's been great! I'm not giving up on the stock wick though. I'd like to get it going at 1.5 to 1.8 ohms at 3.7v. Anyone have any success with this?

You can get great results at any ohm setting with the iatty.

Maybe if you define your question it would help when posting a reply.

I use 34g and 36g resistance wire.
30g silver no-resisrance.
Widened the gaps on the ceramic cup.
Modified the wick slots on the top plastic.
Ive tried the standard wick and the xc-116.
Crimpers w/SS tube crimps.

The wick I'm using today is standard with 2.7ohm 36g with 2/rcr123 batteries. The cone is just barely attached to the plastic. This is working fine at the moment.

Making a wick and coil isnt hard at all, if you have an iatty you'll get your share of practice.

Thanks. I mean stock wick and wires at 1.5 to 1.8 ohms and 3.7 volts with an 18650. With no modifications to the plastic or ceramic and using the methods in Imeo's videos. Even with the cone barely attached to the plastic and wick in coil or on top method, I still get a burned taste.

I haven't gotten the setup above to wick well unless I increase the resistance to two ohms or more. I was wondering if anyone has gotten the above setup to work. Thanks.

How long have you been using this wick?
When i use the standard wick it needs to be replaced regularly. It tends to get a build up at the coil. Dry burning it off doesnt work very well with the standard wick, it breaks down, and its done.

I hope this helps.

Please forgive my ignorance but that would the benefit be to doubling the resistance wire?

hei fright my friend ;)
With double stripping res. wire we are making a stronger coil..for this method (with wick over the res.) we should have a strong coil especially if we want to smoke at higher volts..also we have a little more contact between the wire and the coil. I tried to plug only one res.wire and it been cutted after some hours of use :)

hello nanabols Jeff Lo here PVF

ive tried this configuration for the iatty it works great at 3.7 on 1.1-1.2ohms, mileage may vary

and sorry for my very ugly drawing hahahaha

iattysetup.jpg

not sure if someone has tried or done this before

unbind the top smaller lenght wick and spread, acts as a extra ejuice holder
also unbind the longer lenght wick and trim off a little bit of strands if it doenst feed right
full close cone so when you draw it help pull a little bit of ejuice up " may vary havent tested opening up the cone a little coz it was working well "

post feedback if its working for you if you tried it

thanks
Jeff Lo
