I used 10cm of non-resistance wire and 5cm of resistance wire at .016mm.

or

4" of non-resistance wire and 2" of resistance wire.

Twisted the ends together using 1cm of wire from each end.

Thanks repent. Can't wait to lay my hands on the iatty. Hope u guys who got it enjoy vaping with it!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Getting a lot of juice leaking out of the center connector. I have all the seals in place. I filled to just above the cone. Thought maybe the cone was opened too much. Was only opened 1mm as Imeo suggests. Even closed it all the way, still a lot of juice leaking.

Vapor and taste are awesome though. But the leaking has to go.

Any suggestions?

1. try screwing down the cone more - which you know
2. Double check that your wick is in the slots..maybe it's holding the cone open somewhere?
3. Vape HARDER! :)

Wish I could comment on the Iatty. Got it tonight when I got to work. Here I sit looking at it. Can't put it together as we are too busy here. Boo hoo. All I can do is look. Have to go to my next job after this and tomorrow the same. Looks like it may be Sunday before I do it. Reason being, I have to watch the videos again while I'm doing it, because I don't know shinola about it.

Hey Geoff;

After I screwed the cone down more, actually all the way, as it was only open "a frog's hair", the leaking subsided quite a bit but still have leakage. I let the iAtty sit on my Provari last night and this morning the catch cup on the Vari was full of juice.

I've cleaned that up, refilled iAtty, and am now happily vaping away on some TV Tastyfinger juice that is 70/30 PG/VG. The amount of vapor and thus flavor is way....way....more than with any carto, clearo, or other such type device I have tried including my SS Bulli, which I think may go on the classifieds very soon. I mean this is sick, really.

I am just guessing that the wick is still in the slots. I know when I put it together everything was tight and in line. Actually if I vape harder and more often I think I'm keeping up with the leaking right now. Still more tweaking to do but I totally expected that and so I'm not badmouthing anything so don't get me wrong. :laugh:

repent, screw well all the plastic parts. There is no way for leakage when you do those things.

Are the 2 o-rings inside ceramic?

Good morning Imeo;

On my very first setup, I think I had the two plastics loose just a little bit so the slots would line up to run the wire through. My very first attempt in making a wire it came out at 1.7 oHm. Very Cool. Making it was VERY EASY. I think the videos actually make it into a bigger deal than it really is only because Imeo has to go slow to explain everything. When you make your first wire I can promise you you're going to think, "is that all there is to making a wire?" You could make two wires in the time it takes Imeo to show us how to make one. You'll see what I mean.

I used that first setup only about two hours then tore it all down and made a second wire. I thought the leaking could have been from my first attempt at putting everything together and figured I had something out of whack. The second wire came in at 2.0 oHm and perfect for me. This time I made sure the plastics were tight to each other. I had installed the ceramic with the two o-rings that were already placed on the ceramic, the ones that were the same size. The loose o-ring (smaller than the other two) in the package I figured was for the mouthpiece. I've since placed the smaller o-ring first on the ceramic followed by one of the others as you explained on page #1. Much easier to get the ceramic into the plastic that way! Had a really hard time getting it to fit the first time, and I've got good hand strength.

All in all I'm really liking this iAtty. I'm sure in my case I just need a little tweaking. I'd like to hear from others if they have any leaking (or not) to see if there is a common denominator. This would help everyone out as we all start using iAtty so everyone please report in on your setup and how it's going for you.

Repent, I think you put the o-rings in the wrong way maybe so you have leakage. The fatter of the same ones (4mm) goes on moutpiece, the thinner (4mm) and the small goes on the ceramic. You first put on the ceramic the small, then the bigger. Can you please try to put them again?:)

I am curious how often I'll have to clean iAtty. Typically with other devices like Bulli I have to clean it out every night, as the dark juices I use tend to gunk things up after a day of vaping. I then do a dry burn to clean the coil and then reload and go another day. I'm going to keep vaping until I get the telltale nasty taste that previously told me to clean the coil.

Imeo;

When I got iAtty the ceramic already had the two o-rings that were the same size installed on it and the o-ring that is same size but thinner was loose in the bag. On first attempt I used it like that but on second attempt I placed smaller o-ring on first followed by the little bigger one as you explain on page #1. Then it was much easier to put the ceramic into the plastic.

Imeo;

When you make the VV device I would pay more and wait longer to have the "To my good friend Chris" put on it like we talked about before. Not sure why some folks didn't like the inscription. I think it's really cool. I've commissioned a few custom pieces to be made for me over the years and always insisted that the creator sign the work somewhere on it, even if it couldn't be seen. I really like real wood, real leather, and hand made things that aren't "mass produced" but more hand made by an artisan, especially if I knew that artisan's "history", as I have come to know yours through the forum and your videos. Fit and finish, that is where the secret lies.

I have a Provari and a Darwin and both are loaded with features. Can you start a thread on the up and coming VV device and tell us some of the features you have in mind for it? I would love to have your VV blow the Provari and Darwin out of the water. My Vari and Darwin would go on the classifieds real quick!!

On a side note, my wife and I are planning a trip to the Athens Greece area in the next year or so, maybe two, and I'd love to take you, your wife and your adorable daughter out to dinner.

Repent, I will write more things this time on the GGTS. Maybe it was a mistake to disapear the "to my friend" because of some people.

GG VV will have more features than other cogs, it will be repairable by the user and you will be able to put it on and off any time. GGTS will be able to be transformed to its mechanical use very easy. Also you will be very pleased with my waranty. Dont worry, I have nice plans, just be a little patient:)

I will be here waiting for you and your wife Repent!

repent, can you please tell me the size of the mouthpiece o-ring? It has to be 4/2.

yes the one that I am now using on the mouthpiece, one of the ones that had been installed on the ceramic, is 4mm ID and 2mm thick.

Is this design of the iAtty depending on vacuum of some sort? I can see that since the juice can be above the openings for the wick and cone that gravity and atmospheric pressure come into play.

I will be patient but it won't be easy!! LOL I plan on following you very closely on the VV so I'm in on the action to order one from the first batch. :2cool:

So the GGTS model will be the "base" or starting point for your VV mod? I am only now becoming familiar with your GGTB and GGTS models. I think the GGTS model is very beautiful from the pictures I have seen. I have never held one and don't know anyone with one to be able to look at. I like the look of the SS against the brass end caps and such. I like the contrast. I also like where the button is located.

Yup from what I understand it will be an add-on for the ggts.
