I apologize beforehand if this has been addressed previously, but has anyone made a master list of all the known issues and or quirks (including those that bricked the units which had to be sent back for repairs), and any possible solutions and/or work arounds for such findings?

Drummon has the list of features and tips-
For issues, this was from earlier in the week-

So what do we have so far for technical issues (leave features and subjective stuff out)?
  1. 1 instance of pump locking on- unrepeated.
  2. A few random resets that may be attributed to low battery condition.
  3. A few instances of irratic behavior that may be related to unintentional contact with the touchpad.
  4. Full charge not displaying full resolutoin on the EQ dial..
  5. A few documentation improvements.
  6. One unit sent back with QC issue repaired and on its way back to owner
  7. short battery life
Did I miss anything? That's not at all bad for the first batch.

lets update it:
  1. 1 instance of pump locking on- unrepeated.
  2. Several reports of random power level resets
  3. A few instances of irratic behavior that may be related to unintentional contact with the touchpad.
  4. 1 reported lockup- device reset by removing battery
  5. Full charge not displaying full resolutoin on the EQ dial..
  6. A few documentation improvements.
  7. Units sent back with QC issues:
[**]MX sent back 2x - controller problems
  8. short battery life

Please add on.

Okay this is what Michael told me about the voltage resetting itself to 4.0v. I was using an AW IMR18650, Joye SR510 reading 2.3 to 2.4 ohms vaping it on the 4.4 volt setting. Every now and then I get the voltage reset. Here's his reply to my inquiry about this:

I think what you are experiencing is not a defect but the protection feature that is explained int the manual (and may need better explanation).
Here is how it works.
If you are trying to vape at higher voltages and your atomizer ohm is too low (2.3, 2.2, 2.1,2.0), and the unit senses this it automatically kicks you out of what ever voltage your were at and sets you at 4.0volts. This is the unit protecting itself from over current discharge. The unit will only do this when it sense that there is too much current being called for from the atomizer and the voltage level is to high. To remedy when you are vaping with atomizers that are considered low resistance by EQ standard mentioned above the unit will set you back to a safe level to vape at. Voltages of 4.0v to 4.2v. should only be used when the atomizer is below 2.3 ohm (approx) this will stop the unit form resetting you back to 4.0v

So according to Michael if you want to vape Joye SR510 atties check the resistance first if you like vaping them at 4.4 or 4.5 volts like I do. If they meter out at 2.3 ohms or lower you can expect random reboots or only set your EQ to a max of 4.2 volts. I plan on doing some testing to see if the voltage resets while vaping at 4.2 volts. I'll post my results later.

that doesn't explain why my 801 that is 3.5ohm is resetting the unit.

and if we create a new sub forum for EQ people mike and mario won't be able to post in it. They can only post here.

same here with the HV attys....

Well, we haven't heard from Mario here (he's been tweeting though) for some 2 weeks. He's referred us back to Michael for any questions or concerns regarding the production units. I suspect there's a message in there somewhere between the lines.

And its not like Michael is responding to all the issues we've discussed here.... If we start another thread, he can always post responses here for all of us to see and link back to a question posted elsewhere - if he elects to do so.

Since I have been following the EQ for about 6 months, and did not choose to pre-order, I may be speaking "out of school" here. But I would offer a suggestion on an issue you have not listed yet:

An upgrade to the juice feeding process could easily include a "check valve" that would open the "vents" when the pump operates, and closes the "vents" when not in operation. Then the EQ would not have to remain upright to keep from "leaking" juice inside the unit....

generic idea for preventing ejuice comming back up through the mouth piece, with 510 atty.

put an empire drip shield over the EQ adapter, it doesnt fit as snug as it would, as the metal tube prevents the entire slip down.

tape the 2 holes. put on your favorite drip tips... or and tape up the bottom, though I haven't done it yet...

was thinking of dremmeling out a slot on the drip shield so you could slip on the drip shield even further, but with doing that it will also cut into the inner o-ring.

this method is really crude, but it works.

used a ming drip tip as the orings are big, it's on there snug.

or until someone makes an extension adapter....
