Just a bit of "thinking out loud" here...

I've been wondering if the coils are a little too "hot" .... I've noticed several reports in this thread mentioning dry hits and my own experience with this on the AmiGo VV passthru showed a tendency to go in that direction when I turned up the voltage past 3.6v... I suspect a PV using PWM would always give a dry hit with how it pulses the voltage.

I can't get into all threads all the time, I just noticed the developments in this thread or I would have made an appearance. Just let me give you an idea of how a mistake like this can happen (sending the wrong coil stems).

On the Esco shipment we received I think, four different type of cartos: the E1, the E2 (which was alpha'd), the E3 (which we gave away because the first several I picked up had cracks in the plastic) and then there was a 10ml E2. When you get these in half the time nothing is marked or even put together logically - if they are marked sometimes its actually chinese, characters and all. There aren't packages that say E1 stem coils, etc. IN the rush of things I simply made a mistake on, I think about the first 5 orders of these I sent out. I did catch it but this was after I had sent out several. I had an uh-oh moment! It happens. I knew we were gonna get tickets on this and I knew what we would have to do.

Some of you guys who got the ones that were wrong you didn't even send in a ticket! LOL, wow you are angels for saying, "meh, I'll use them on my E3, etc" Much love for not killing me over it but I would have been happy to set you straight.

Xanderxman sent in a ticket on a Saturday and Max responded to him right away and then there were some longer gaps of a day or so but all in all this was resolved in a few days. I think xander was just in a situation where the E1 was all he had to use and so it was frustrating for him, tryign to quit smoking ,etc. I understand and apologize. But Briar was right, we need perspective, if you are receiving fairly steady communication, especially with how busy we have been lately its not a fail situation. I truly wish xander wouldn't have run to negative area so quickly as we were communicating with him and trying to straighten it out but I think he did it out of honest frustration and he wasn't "hatin'" ...

.... and the difference in the older E1 and the newer one are just the threads... the newer one has about ( if my eyes aren't missing anything like they often do ) only two turns of thread on them... that is just about 1-2mm of an area.

The first E1 was smooth and threadless but identical in the rest of the design, it was a friction fit which is prone to getting bumped out of place.

The one I am using right now has been going well for a week, and since I got my fav juice in it, it's the only carto I'm using right now... Never thought I'd find an ADV, but I did. :) Anyway, this E1 is doing really, really well. I never thought that anything could compete with a Stardust for me, but this sure does. The one thing where it really pulls ahead is that I can use my own drip tips. I'm a real sucker for fancy drip tips, have quite a collection going, and lately I've been using less Stardusts and more mini ViVis - and now the E1 - just to be able to use my drip tips.

Note to Visions: one word - DRIP TIP ADAPTER! (well, three words - but honestly, my friends, it's not a big investment, and a little doohickey like that would make a big difference, and sell great, I promise. :))

Bad, Danno, tell them! :D My new Lotus, Skull, and my growing collection of other cool assorted drip tips would look great on a Stardust...

Briar, what voltage and juice type are you using with your E1? Have you modded it at all? I LOVE the appearance of mine on my stainless Ego and was really hoping it would perform closer to the Vivi Minis, but I just keep getting dry hits and burning silicon flavor. If I could get the Vivi innards in the E1 tube, I don't think I'ds use anything else.

when i see a person bouncing here and in negative reviews while they are being handled, thats a nono, and if they dont like it they can shop elsewhere, if you want to start a complain compaign do it elswhere.

Chris, don't be so quick to tell your customers to shop elsewhere; that type of attitude is why you get negative reviews in the first place. In all honesty, I like Gotvapes, but I'm hesitant to shop with you again after reading your posts in other forums. I say that's a nono and if you don't like that I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere.

Make certain to keep it tilted so the juice is coming up to where the wicks exit the heads ( if you don't already )... Thick juices, like all VG, are going to be more problematic that average ones ( 80/20 70/30 PG/VG are probably considered average or there abouts ) and may require a little thinning out with a drop of distilled water or PGA. I've also read that many take the top thin wick out ( it is just laying across the coil ) to help....

Chris was completely right to say what he did in that case... the other user was being unreasonable and childish simply because they didn't get instant gratification in a minor issue that GV's had no control over until new stock came in...

I think the other member had a Right to say what he said.

But he Didn't have the Right to Keep going On and On and On and On about it.

Gotvapes offered a Full Refund and which Included Postage. I'm not sure what else could have been done?

I agree with both of ya' & Bad ....

& I'm using my DIY VG (which is thinned 5%distw) with my E1 just fine @ low voltage of course.:D

I'm using a 50/50 liquid between 3.5 and 4 V - no higher, it doesn't like high voltages at all for me. This particular one didn't give me a hard time beyond the first 10 or so drags - which were dry, so I dripped a drop or two on the coil. But it's been going really, really well since then.

The only modding was the extra gasket to prevent leaking.

I have (had) four of them. One I'm using now works great. The second one also works good, but I have to do the gasket thing to it, it leaks. The third had a badly screwed up wick - it was caught between the "hat" and the coil, half-torn, half-cut, and generally useless. So that one is a write-off. The fourth I haven't opened yet, but it looks ok...

Did you check if the wick is ok? You might want to drip a drop on the coil and let it sit for half an hour or so, and see what happens. What have you tried so far?

I'm just not sure it can handle the wattage I'm throwing at it. I'm using a 70/30 blend and tilting- same as I do with my Vivis. When I took off the seal, the wicks looked good and wet. From what I could see it looked nearly identical to the Vivi coil/wick. My Vivis can handle the 9-10 watt range, which is where I like to be, with just an occasional tilt. Lower than 9-10 watts doesn't give enough of a kick for me. Although, as much as I like the Vivis, I've actually found myself reaching for my trusty carto tanks more than anything recently. I can fill one and get consistent hits all day long. Between those and my Vivi minis, I'm pretty satisfied.

I don't think E1 is useful for higher wattages. ViVis do quite well on the other hand. I usually find that I can crank up my PVs with a ViVi on top higher than I'm comfortable vaping before getting even close to a dry hit on a ViVi.

I've come to the conclusion that in general ViVis have the edge on build quality, while the E1 has a slight edge on flavor.
