Preorders are probably not the best idea if one expects status updates from the vendor. Chinese manufacturers often don't give firm ship dates and, if they do, one can not rely on the shipping date being accurate, particularly for popular items. They also will often ignore communication with vendors who pester them about ship dates.

A vendor who publicly shares ship dates that a Chinese manufacturer ends up not meeting runs a significant risk of finding themselves in the position of never being able to place an order with that manufacturer ever again.

Valid point.

I have been a part of other preorders where the communication is much better though and it never hurts. Even expected dates would have been good for me, or a simple reply that said "hell if we know" :)

So I just wanted to stop by and give my review of this box mod. First I should say that I have been using it for 4 days and I am a district manager of 4 Vape Shops so I have put it through the ringer and overall I give this a 8 out of 10.

The positives: very responsive, great fit in the hand, built well - although it definitely is not as heavy as most box mods but I don't consider this a bad thing, ohm reader has been on the mark (except one time when my screw loosened up and I couldn't figure out why it was burning so hot. Hahaha), volts show up without pressing the fire button, fires every time on wake up unlike the dna 30 clone, I like the touch sensor button but is also going to be in the negatives, battery life is good but it also will drop fast with a few 40-50 watt sessions but that is expected, at 1.2 ohm build you can get just about everything you want out of your vape long battery life at low watts and clouds at high watts.

The Negatives. Ill start with the touch sensor. I like it but at the same time I have had a big issue with it. Be warned if you fire it with your RDA cap off and juice hits the sensor it will continue to fire until you wipe it off, if you have greasy fingers it may also continue to fire after releasing ( a chef friend of mine had this problem ), The screen is almost impossible to see in the sunlight when it is dimmed ( which is always unless you have buttons depressed ), I absolutely hate the screw in the 510 adapter (it would be so much better with the spring loaded one in the DNA 30, I may be replacing it myself) (also have had one person have the screw strip out and it wasn't the screw but the female end so we had to re-tap it), it should absolutely have 4 screws in the back plate because you can see gaps in the corners when you have it tightened up ( but at the same time I like only taking out 2 screws to change the battery ). I have seen moisture on the inside of the battery compartment due to this, the actual display is not quite up to par with evolv dna chip (it just looks kind of Atari-ish) but who cares because it performs like a champ!

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I will be putting it on the shelves to sell to others. At this price range I truly believe you get everything you pay for and a bit more. For some of its short comings it is still a huge game changer for dropping the price in the VV/VW market. If the touch sensor was not able to be shut off this review would have been much different. I love the touch sensor for my Kayfun's and any tank set up but with drippers its defiantly shut off. I am excited to see what is next from YiHi. The last thing to say is I hope the IPV2 holds up over time but that is yet to be seen.

Anyones - button feel more clicky than the rest? it doesnt bother me and it feels the same as the rest but if you hit the - button fast it sounds more clicky than the rest. haha idk how to explain it. Also if you havent noticed there is plastic on the plastic pieces (screen, touch fire, and side). I suggest you leave it on if you're worried about scratches. I couldnt even tell it was on in the first place.

On a different note, does anyone have a recommendation for a RBA with a big tank that wont leak that would work well with the IPV? Ive pretty much exclusively used dripping RDA's since ive been vaping and I want to find something that i can use while i work that has good airflow, flavor and vapor. The world of RBA's is pretty foreign to me. I'm kind of leaning towards this Big 26650 Kayfun Lite Plus by Tobeco - 101 Vape

I was testing that big kayfun for the shop and its poop. I use kayfuns a lot due to driving everywhere and have the builds down to a science. But that thing leaks like a civ. The chimney and deck are the same size as the regular ones and I think that's why? Maybe not enough suction with that much space in there.

So..are we still suppose to leave it alone while charging? Battery gauge shows exact same thing when fired. I would think there would be significant voltage loss if the battery didn't stop charging when firing..and that's my speculation why we can't vape while charging...

So why can't we vape while charging?

That's what I wanna know. Having pass through capability would be sweet

I already purchased a 12000mha battery bank, so I can use it all day long. Mainly having late drinks Fridays after work. Or on Thursday wings nights. Or on paintball weekends, or wile camping.

The thing is that I have a battery to charge a battery.

Elev8 finally just got back to me and will be issuing me a refund. The email was incredibly nice and apologetic. They said they they have yet to ship out past the 6100s at this point. Apparently the manufacturer is moving slow with sending out the shipments. They said if i still wanted to go through with my order that it would be 2-3 weeks before i received mine(7300s).

They're probably just saying that as precaution. To my knowledge, none of these devices are really passthrough the way laptops are passthrough.

It all comes down to whether the user is comfortable discharging the battery at high amps while simultaneously charging it. Intuition tells me that's not good for the battery, but I don't know enough to state that as a fact.

If one chain vapes at 10 amps while charging the device at 500 milliamps, I would assume that the battery is discharging at a faster rate than it's being charged at.

Battery experts, feel free to chime in.

for those of you that ordered from elev8

*Update @ 4:41AM EST 7/30: Good evening everyone!

Just would like to make a quick announcement. We are shipping whatever Pioneer 4 U sends us. They have promised us that our order would ship on July 15th, this did not happen. Now they are shipping out batch by batch. They were not able to meet demand and are now very behind with sending out units. Please do not think that we receive these units and stare at them for hours, we are actually anxiously waiting on these shipments so that we can send them out as soon as their in. Please just keep in mind that we really can not control how fast Pioneer 4 u produces these mods or how fast they ship them. We are at their mercy. If it were up to us, these orders would have been fulfilled by now. It is hard to be patient for something you want really bad, we really understand. We just want everyone to know that we are doing our best at getting the units out, but it really comes down to Pioneer 4 u and how fast they ship them to us. Enjoy the rest of your night/morning!
