ok just went and fiddled with it with a small screwdriver.....it's not easy for sure. tried it on my ego.....working ok.....but still not on the MVP or the VV3.....not even with the adapter...grrrrrr..... not happy about that. I do really like the taste and would buy more if I knew they would work on my innokin products....but so far no luck.
maybe I would have more luck with the ones with an EGO conn. instead of the 510. Just about to give up on them and don't really want to.

Which version of the aspire are you working with? I have the plastic Vivi nova tank. Have to fiddle with it a lot. The metal Vivi nova tank seems to make connection mush more reliably. And I find if I take the head off the base I can wiggle the connection pin down a small bit rather easily.

Sad news fellow MVP lovers...

MVP #3, the most recent addition to my MVP family, is not feeling well and will have to be returned to 101, i assume.

The green LED stays on constantly. The unit is not actually firing, although it does still fire when you push the button.

Also am unable to turn the unit off or get any type of reading from the screen no matter what buttons are pushed.

Gonna shoot an e-mail to 101, will update with results.

Oooohhh K......just noticed the light is now off and the MVP is now functioning like normal again.

Literally have not touched it since i posted earlier, its just been sitting there...lol.

Of course i notice this immediately after i e-mail 101...

were you charging it ??

sounds like it was plugged in

-light stays on till full charged (but still works, passthrough)
-vv/vw button screen does not respond
-unable to turn off

yeah, when I read that it sounded like he was describing to someone
what happens while it's plugged in during charging...

(but he does have three of them) ?

Lol, no it wasn't plugged in...

Temporarily possessed apparently.

Yesterday being Friday the 13th, it may have just been a sympathy possesion.

If it starts showing any unusual activity, while you watch any of those paranormal shows that seem to have cropped up on cable lately.. you might want to call in a Vaping Exorcist. Just an FYI.

I just removed the beauty ring until I can punch a couple of more holes in it.

Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk

I tried that once, but I didn't notice a difference. If I unscrew it about 1/4 of a turn it seems to work better, just a pain in the ... and not stable.

I'll try the beauty ring again, though.

I tried this 3.5ml Aspire at a B&M yesterday. It's the first clearo I've used that didn't give me dry hits so I bought it. Taking it off the Vamo V5 and putting it on the MVP2 I have to pull the center pin down quite a bit for it to fire. Been leaving the beauty ring off too thinking it's a little tall not letting the contacts touch. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it! :2c:

I have had a couple of issues with certain tanks not firing on the MVP2. I've noticed that on some tanks the 510 is slightly longer making the floating pin on the MVP2 to drop down, causing non-firing issues on properly spec'd tanks. If our MVP2 would have a spring pin instead of a floating pin then this would be a non-issue.

My solution has been to slightly pull up the MVP2's floating pin with a pick. I also remove these tanks from the MVP2's rotation and use them on other devices.

what has cured this dilemma for me has been to just be extra EXTRA careful not to
screw any tank too hard, too deep into MVP...

people make fun of me because I preach "Don't look while tightening your tank"
look away so to 'feel' it make contact...

either way, it has worked - I haven't had 'conn' issue for over a month or more...

I've never pull'd the pin on MVP and never will, unless it's a LAST RESORT - JMO

Thought I was strange, after reading that so many people had issues with making contact.
I stopped looking to feel it make contact rather than keep tightening until I see it won't tighten more.

Very good suggestions, both of you.

I've never understood why people crank down their clearo to the battery. It's not supposed to be a leak tight seal. I hear about people breaking the glass on their protank 2 and mini protank 2 due to over tightening. Really? It's an oring. As soon as you feel the o-ring engage, the seal is made.

First time I've heard something that severe due to over tightening.
When I first started, I'd crank it down until I read the problems it can cause.

Yes, not over tightening is key BUT if the threads were just a bit shorter none of this would be a problem. Also, "snuggin" only solves the contact issues. It does not address some of the air flow issues myself and others are having. It is not the clearo's that are improperly spec'd , it is the threads on the MVP. No other device behaves so poorly with clearo's. They have addressed many issues on the VV and the MVP (woble, rivets, firing button, etc.) lets hope they address this one.

Just remember one thing, when you adjust voltage on a vv battery, you are actually adjusting the voltage so that you will have a specific wattage at the coil. If you have more than one clearomizer, you might notice when you change tanks, you have to retweak your voltage settings. This is because of variations of resistance between clearomizers.

Variable wattage allows you to set wattage to taste, and when you change tanks, the battery will sense the resistance on the new tank and adjust voltage automatically.

the MVP does both, but not at the same time. If it is in variable voltage mode. It will fire the set voltage every time irregardless of the resistance on the atomizer head. If it is in variable wattage mode, it will automatically adjust voltage to maintain a constant wattage.

I personally like variable wattage because I can switch tanks and get consistent vape quality without having to further adjust my battery.

Some people like variable voltage because they can 'fine tune' the voltage to the exact value they like.

The best example I heard is comparing vv and vw to transmission types.
If vv is a manual transmission, then vw is like an automatic. They both perform the same function, just do it in different ways.

If you push the U button and adjust for voltage, then the battery is in variable voltage mode and will stay in that mode until you press the p button.
If you push the P button and adjust for wattage, then the battery is in variable wattage mode and will stay in that mode until you press the u button.

For more details on the operation of the unit, you can check out the review I wrote for the MVP 2 here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../503162-innokin-mvp2-essential-vape-gear.html

Thank you so much! I've learned more from your short post than I have from all the searching I've done. In all that searching, your review never came up, wouldn't you know! You've been a Godsend! Thanks again.
