That's what I figured..... It's all a circle of math. lol

So........Then how is it possible that I can adjust the volts AND watts? According to the display, I've got

4.5v at 2.1 Ω. According to Ohms Law, that ought to be 9.64w. But the setting is at 10.5.

So what is actually being adjusted?

*****DISCLAIMER: All I know about electricity I learned from Google and Looney Toons. So don't think you're dealing with a genius here. ;)*****

yepper, just as said
it’s just engaging another circuit (switch to)

- on the MVP,
--
-holding both buttons:
-first display is, Coil Ω
-second display is, Charge Remaining in internal battery
- - -
>push and hold (top button) "P" for watts control
>push and hold (bottom button) "U" for volts control
-the first display will always be Puff Counter (0-999)
(which actually just counts how many times you push your Fire button)
-second number displayed is adjustable setting (v or w)
--it is EITHER volts OR watts, never both
--3 clks off / 3 clks on (puff counter resets to "0" each time)
-- MVP memory maintains until you change it

:)

Whichever you adjust last, is the one it uses :)

Great! Ok. So it's not really opening up a black hole then.

If you forget which one you adjusted last, is there a way to tell what the TRUE setting the v or w is currently at?

It will tell me true (enough) Ω but I could be either 10.5w or 4.5v. Not both though.

Hey Flyer... If you don't remember, whichever button you push at the bottom will kick in the setting (after the puff counter). I just did mine, and I knew I was vaping on
watts setting. Pushed the left button, got 3.6V; pushed the right button, got my 8.5 W that I knew I should have been on.

yepper something I think is foul about the little box

your vaping away and wonder what setting your using

well you can't tell because when you push a button, 'your there' :?:

(was I at 3.6 or 8.5)

bonus:
while plugged in
you can operate the "W" & "V" buttons continuously
but if you push BOTH together after THAT display,
it locks you out (factory glitch)

Yep.
That's why I pick one, and nevvvvver press the other button unless checking ohms.

Every time I turn it on I press the one I want (volts or watts) to be sure it's in the right mode.

Well I am new to MVP fan club having just purchased one yesterday but ... holy crap! I can't believe this little thing. It is also my first VV/VW device having been solidly using a mech mod for the past couple of years. I'm afraid the mod is going to be headed for the FS section of the forum real soon as this beats it hands down. I cannot get over how much better vaping has gotten with this ecig. Am using the Kanger Aerotank on it and, for the first time, can really, truly taste my juices and getting the TH I was missing. I love the simplicity of changing volts/watts versus some mods that have multiple buttons and settings that make my head spin!. At 60 yrs old, that kind of thing is definitely NOT a challenge ... it's just a PITA. Which is likely why I can never see myself going RBA. Trust me ... if anyone can screw up a simple process, that would be me. :D
Anyway, nice to see such an active thread with a whole slew of obviously satisfied MVP'ers in here.

one thing about getting old tho, you do the hard things out of Discipline and or spite and the job gets done without complaining....the only thing that slows down is the body, mind is sharp as a razor..........but hell yea i'd love to be 35 again and out tromping in the woods and hills chasing those Bucks and huntin shroons & sippin on some shine.....ah the good ole days :toast:

man i got to say it again, my Carto Tank on my MVP Tastes awesome, almost as good as dripping ;one notch down from it :vapor:

I noticed my legs did not have as much spring to them when i hit the 40 mark , everything requires a little more effort lol. If i had the knowledge i have now then i wouldn't mind being 35 again , there are no shortcuts with knowledge just time .

Depending on the person some seem to retain razor sharp mentality very late in life and some lose it far sooner. Carto tank huh , is that an IBtanked model ?

I know! I'm super excited! Its basically the guts of a reo as its no batt/bottle/rda, but I couldn't be happier. He had,a zen zna I could have chose but I really want a reo!

Via a possessed phone thats autocorrect is just silly

Hey , the body is the main cost , you did great.

I just use the wattage button just because i really don't see any differences in my vape between setting just volts or watts . I vape at 8.5 watts most of the time as it seems to work perfectly with a huge range of toppers.

Hey FisherPal, welcome to MVP world :toast:

the kanger tank w/ airflow control is a nice combo on MVP...

next step would be making cotton-coils for it – big difference
saves money, tastes better, better coil quality...

here’s a good watch about the whole deal…

...........@herb, here ya go, even on close-out sale
Smok Tech Black UDTC - RTD vapor

and some 45mm big hole carto's, these lock in and won't spin or pull out and work perfect with the locking ring on the bottom of the carto tank
...would suggest the 2.4 ohm for the MVP
DCT Pro Coils

these slotted 45mm will also lock in but they can be pulled out because they don't have the bottom locking lip that fits into the locking slot on the bottom of the carto tank, but they work perfect , you just gotta be carefull with them or you'll wind up with a lap full of jooze.
45mm Slotted Boge 510 Cartomizers

there are other single and double small hole carto's but they don't work well with med to high VG jooze.....hence the big hole and the slotted ones, they suck up the thick jooze......great flavor on these!

Yep, yep and ??.... I have no clue why Evolv wouldn't incorporate reverse battery protection...That was Pbusardos only real gripe(Thumbs down). FYI. Innokins DNA chip has it(so it can be done). The .2 part is true enough too. Part of the reason that the Sub-ohm crowd loves the YiHi board.I think it's a good board too.I think the problems we've seen, Shorting, meltdowns, Sudden death..Are enclosure related and don't really pertain to the chip itself. Short circuit protection is something the Dna board Does have unless you know something I don't?

Ok.. Short circuit protection that require a reboot to reset :D...
