Was there any references? The only way the MVP2 would stop being produced is if a 3 came out IMHO. innokin has a lot of mods out there sure, but it seems that while the VTR looks like an MVP it functions completely different. I cannot see a sound strategy of stopping production of a complete line.

No there were no references and I commented and asked them about it but there hasn't been any new replies.

Actually, I would think you would experience a slightly different vape between voltage and wattage settings, even if the settings are theoretically equivalent.

First of all, recognize that in the wattage mode the MVP is sensing the resistance of the atomizer and adjusting the voltage to deliver the requested wattage (e.g., 8 watts, say).

If you check the atomizer resistance with the MVP's built-in ohmmeter and then go into voltage mode and set the correct voltage to achieve the same wattage as in wattage mode, you'll have to base your Ohm's Law calculation on the displayed resistance. The displayed resistance, however, is not under load; it is just the static resistance of the atomizer at rest. The resistance of the coil will vary from the displayed value while it is under load (i.e., being fired while vaping). In wattage mode, the MVP takes these slight variations in loaded resistance into consideration and may actually deliver slightly more or less voltage than the "calculated" voltage used in voltage mode, thus delivering a slightly different vaping experience.

Is it enough to worry about? I doubt it.

I was reading a few pages back about the scratch code on the box that the MVP2 is packaged in. My box does not have that scratch code, just a generic SKU. Does this mean I have a fake? Everything looks authentic and the unit is sound.

Maybe on the earlier MVP2's they weren't doing this yet? Is yours one of the older ones that had the bottom button wobble and the stiff power button? I don't know how long they've been doing the scratch codes for so this is just a guess.

Innokin started this a few months ago. You more than likely have an older stock.

Thanks for the replies! When I first started my vaping venture, me and a buddy were ripped off by a local store on starter kits ($100 for maybe $50 worth of crap) so now I see this and am thinking "not again". Since the scratch code started just a few months ago, I feel relieved by your answers. Thanks again!

I dunno. I wouldn't blame the local B&M that much. They have a lot of overhead. Rent, lights, etc. They have to charge more. While one that may be on line only has to have stock. And can be very limited and only stock what they want to sell. Could very well be some dude in his underwear sitting at his puter. :)

The local shop may have to stock a lot of stuff. And that can't usually only stock one mod or one bottle of juice. They have to buy a bunch to get a deal where they can make a buck. Even stuff they can't sell and they get stuck with a lot. I have a local shop that is a little pricey but I still deal with them because I want them around. If I need instant help it's nice to be able to talk to someone face to face.

So the way I figger it, it's like insurance. They have to eat too so don't be too hard on them. :)

The only reason I haven't bought another mvp is the local b&m has them. If something happens to mine there is another one ten minutes away. They have them for $55 but they are nice folks and its nice having them around.

This is my first experience with tanks when I bought my MVP 2. There is a big difference in flavor compared to dripping. The flavor is bad using tanks. Both the iclear 16 and the mini protank 2's I been using anyways. It wasn't bad when they were new and first tried them. I might have to try the Nautilus again.

Could also be what I call "vapors tongue". Just got over almost two days of raunchy taste. Ego, mvp, svd, different tanks... nothing. All tasted horrible. Today... pretty much back to normal. It's not that uncommon from what I hear. Too much PG? VG? Juice iritating? No clue but it happens.
