Not to be a ....., but need a little advice.

Built a coil, came out at 1.8. Used cotton for wick, Vaped at 9.5 w and on 10 drags, tasted burnt. Using gwary4 outta mbv on a nautilus.

What have I done wrong?

Coumarin pipe... Grappler... STAY AWAY!

do not dry burn with cotton and maybe wick was not wet.

9 watts sounds a liitle high, but did you dry burn coils before wicking?
No.
Cotton wicks. Rip says not to dry burn.
I'm very new. My first successful coil.
Following instructions so as not to burn the rubber in the bottom

Coumarin pipe... Grappler... STAY AWAY!

What Dano said. Did you let it sit about 10-15 minutes before that first vape? Needs time to soak up the juice. And chain vaping a small coil with cotton might not have time to soak up more juice. I also agree with comments to keep your temp lower, but what do I know? JMHExperience

pardon the typos, on my phone :)

No he was suddenly sick, had his gallbladder removed locally then his numbers still didn't improve and they moved him to one of the big city hospitals. They found a very tiny tumor at the top of the pancreas, biopsied. Removed the tumor before the biopsy came back because it was near the bile duct and major artery which the cancer would spread like wildfire. He was better for a few days. Thought all would be well. Then had sudden onset heart/blood pressure probs, went into a coma. Thought he might be brain dead. Came out of the coma once, again saw improvement for a few days. Then back into the coma. It was Klempsciella. Immune to just about every antibiotic there is. Then he got better again, was about to be breathing on his own again, and went down hill one more time. Exploratory surgery found the BP meds had liquified just about all his internal organs. So I had to let him go. After everything, the biopsy results came back and it was def cancer and the same kind Patrick Swayze had. Also, he was on dialysis the whole time.

WOW! I'm, quite frankly, at a loss of what to say! I know many hospitals just suck. Just the other day my MIL went into the ER cause she had C.Diff that wasnt improving and got really dehydrated and has CHF, so get really week. The very first thing the doc did was give her a drug she could not take.. Even after being repeatedly told not too. Within 5 mins she turned blue and stopped breathing! Ya, if I wasnt dealing with my wife, that hosp and doctor would be toast... I'm still holding out that it will happen though... friggin bastages.

Finally made up my mind and am ordering the new IPV 50 watt box mod on Monday...not to replace MVP ( impossible to do ) just want a high power device for big clouds of flavor at home.

That one's moved to the top of my wishlist. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

Yeah that was me , no issues , works like the day i bought it thankfully lol.

I figured that thing would be toast in a couple days max. Amazing!

Ya.. wasnt going to the local hospital! Or the ones in the next 2 bigger towns. Not after she almost died at one and got infected at the other

Ended up going to one even farther away, and it was nice, but not big enough to handle her case so they ambulanced her 90 mins away to the University of Chicago.

9w is a little high, but can work..

If this was a KFL+, I would say not wicking good enough. I had the same problem and everyone was telling me to use less cotton and bigger wire, but that made it worse. I ended up using more cotton, smaller wire, and spaced my wraps instead of squeezing them, and it finally worked.

The stock coil is a 1.8 and sweet spot is 9...
I lowered it to 8 but burnt taste wouldn't go away... Am back to stock coil...

Coumarin pipe... Grappler... STAY AWAY!

Once you burn cotton, there is no going back :)

Also, did you dry burn the coil? You cant dry burn a Nautilus coil. You will burn the little rubber grommet and it will always taste burnt. Ask me how I know

First, let me offer best wishes for you both.

Is it rude of me to ask what the surgery is for? I have chronic pancreatitis, but am not a candidate for surgery due to having scar tissue throughout my entire pancreas. Also my duct isn't dilated; it's bent and twisted.

Adenocarcinoma - Pancreatic Cancer...

Hope they dont have to remove the whole thing on you.. Any reason given for the pancreatitis?

I by no means mean to offend any non believers if there are any here, but my path in this world has lead me to be a minister So I just want to say this To all my fellow mvp'ers well wishes and Blessings, My prayers will go to you and yours that they may have good heath, long life, and that all their needs are fulfilled.

Which church?

Wicking is a learned skill as well. Too much chokes the juice, too little can lead to leaks and floods.

You don't need to recoil, just inspect and probably remove wick, dry burn, rewick.

BTW I have two toppers in use right now, one 1.6 the other 2.5, both at 7 watts, both good clouds and flavor.

Nautilus coil... Say NO to dry burning :)

Adenocarcinoma - Pancreatic Cancer...

Hope they dont have to remove the whole thing on you.. Any reason given for the pancreatitis?

I decided not to have it removed. They are calling it ideopathic (no known reason). However, in March of 05 I had acute pancreatitis due to a gallstone. It probably became too damaged to recover and became chronic. I was largely without symptoms for 2.5 years but I suspect I had it the entire time but didn't know.

Hugs for you and your wife and hoping for a good outcome.
