After two weeks now of having my VTR, all I can say is WOW! This is the device I have been looking for! It fits perfect in my giant meat hooks I have for hands, the button placement is perfect and it is very pocket friendly to me. The weight took me about a day to get used too, but I hardly notice it now.

I have not tried the 30S. After reading it was a juice hog, I decided to stick with my Pro Tanks for now. With the Pro Tank, every juice I use with this setup taste amazing. I even have been going back through some I bought from local B&Ms and Mt Baker that I didn't care for at the time, and with this, they taste a lot better (though admittedly it could be because they have been on the shelf steeping for a while)

My only complaint is that I have gone through a lot of drip tips. I set this device standing up and it seems to get knocked over a lot. My wife says it is because I am clumsy, I blame the cats, but how ever, I cant seem to go a day with out breaking an acrylic drip tip (Being in the Frozen North known as MN, metal tends to hut the lips when outside). Thanks to the way the VTR protects the tank, I have no worries loosing a Pro Tank but I am going to have to get used to metal drip tips. I have a few different ones coming in the mail so hopefully I will find one I like (and will not freeze my mouth to the device :D)

I prefer to use my Protank 1 on my VTR for just that reason, just need to be careful not to knock my teeth out.

My thoughts as well. I have been thinking of adding an SVD to my kit, but I'm worried that I won't like it as well as my iTaste VV3. I can't afford a ProVari right now and I rather not buy another throwaway. So what to do?

Do what I did, purchase another MVP and you double the life span.

I can get two full days of vaping on an MVP without going into the yellow. With two MVP's in rotation, it means I only have to charge each one once every 4 days. 200 charge cycles on this is a conservative estimate which means with appropriate care, I should not need another APV for over two years.

84 bucks for two years equates to $3.19 a month.....I think my wallet can handle that.

While I haven't read actual experiences of when individual MVP's finally failed to hold a charge, I would imagine 300+ cycles based upon li-on battery experience. (I don't expect my SVD to function longer than that.)

as far as the rattlesnake to the vtr i dont even notice it it vapes like a champ with whatever i put on it cant tell the difference between the mvp2 nd the vtr in my experience anyways im lovin it so far weight was a lil bit to get used to but performance is great

one advantage of being an old fart is that I can't even hear my rattlesnake ... never even knew it did it until someone else pointed it out ... GEE .... senior discount at the local diner and no rattlesnake buzz .... life is good :rickroll:

I vape on my VTR 97% of the time, mvp2 sometimes, and a couple mechanicals the other 3%, and I get a ton of pleasing vapor from my ibtanked carto tanks. I personally don't care or realize the issue with this rattlesnaking effect, if it does rattlesnake and rattlesnaking is a negative, what am I missing? I have Vaped on OPPs (other people's provaris) 4 or 5 times, they are great too, and I hear all kinds of sounds from the liquid popping and snapping just like on my VTR, and tons of vapor too... What am I missing? Does an actual rattlesnake eventually pop out of the drip tip and bite my lip or tongue??? Should I call animal control??

Not saying I don't like the VTR, but I seemed to have cycled from Spinner to Vamo to SVD to MVP to VTR and finally to the simplicity of a kicked Nemesis clone. Funny, started with a simple Spinner and ended up with a simple kicked mech and some fancy backups. At least there's plenty of options for all of us.

:toast:

Merry Christmas, Guys!

I believe I read somewhere that the "fix" for the fluctuating ohm reading inherent to the first generation VTR (i.e.. the one with the wheel that spins) is to repeatedly spin the wheel so as to tighten it. At any rate, I have given the fix a spin (all puns intended) but to no avail.

Does anyone have any advice on the matter?

Thanks!

Sitting down, facing forward.
All I can say is to keep spinning, a lot, in both directions. My "gen one" VTR is fairly stable but still wanders once in a while and I spun the heck out of it. I bought two more, one for my wife and one for a friend, and thankfully they both have the solid tan mount. Another trick is to use a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol and reach into the small cutouts inside the spinning wheel an clean out any machine oil that may be left there.
