Thank so much Imeo, this should give me plenty of time. Are pre-orders going to be both at E-smokeguru and at COV?
Doubt it, because there can only be one of a certain number and how could they know you have the actual one. Plus then some one could buy a numbered part and "frankenstein" an Ithaka with parts and sell it off as such.
I didn't know that, seems odd that someone could buy a part with a serial number, but I hope my tank parts don't have a number.

Makes me wonder then if someone could buy a tube for things like GGTS etc. how do you know you have that number. How would you know if you had a unit with older parts and new tube? How does that work then, do you request the same number your GG had on it before? Just seems odd, but what do I know, still fairly new to all things GG except my Odys.

Cool , thanks Imeo. What about "buying " new tubes for GG PVs? I just worry with some of the "clone" ggts etc, someone could buy a GG tube and put it on a clone and someone that is new might not know it and buy a " true counterfeit " Im sure no one here on ECF would do that but we know there are many unscrupulous sellers out there in the world.
There really is no way of knowing. Many GGTS have been made from parts.
I stand corrected. As for the GG engraved tube i know for sure they all have serial numbers.
I know my dear. All GG engraved tubes had serial but now with so many clones around I desided to not put serial on spares.
No way , I don't like that ! I just built a SS GGTS with parts and registered it, but now you say the GGTS tubes will not have serial numbers on them..... I wanted to build another one with brass and ss , but with out a serial number it will not be a GG to me.
I understand why Imeo is not going to put serial #'s on spare GGTS tubes - with so many fake parts around a person could buy a legit tube and finish it off with CLONE parts and re-sell it as a real GGTS. The poor person who buys it then thinks its real - parts wont perhaps fit right - threading is bad - then they go badmouthing GG as inferior product.
They try to return parts for warranty - and it becomes a nightmare.
Its just terrible whats going on out there. You cant trust anybody anymore unless you know who you are buying from.

Exactly as you said Dspin. I know that this will have an impact to GG users like Mr and I understand his concerns but we cant do it in another way
