Hi whiskey,

Just wanted to answer your question about batts. I bought two protected from madvapes. I can definitely attest to the fact they are not all the same. The first one had fit in snugly, the second a little more snugly, but the second one would not come out. I think it had something to do with the coating. This in no way was the fault of madvapes or the laser. It was my fault entirely. I really should have known better when the second one had a tighter fit. I just wanted you know that yes they can vary. I don't think it is the size of the battery, just the way the coating has been applied.

Yep, I have a couple of the protected 10440's from MV too and there is slight differences. At first one fit fairly snuggly and the other was so tight I was afraid to push it in. The protection circuit adds some length and girth to the battery as well as making it not quite symetrically round. The coating thickness maybe even varies slightly. From my understanding they basically take an unprotected batt, add a pcb piece to each end and connect them with a wire running down the side. Then it's all thinly coated.

With the Chameleon my protected batts are tight but b/c both ends are removable it's easy to get them out. Just take off the ends and push the batts right through. With the laser that's not possible and it makes getting a tight fitting batt out much harder. I did try a tiny strong magnet to see if that'd help but really, if I can't grab it with my fingers, I'm nervous that I'd get it in and never get it out! 8-o Thus why I'm currently using just 1 batt, charge it, use it, charge it, use it, repeat! I need to get more batts but was also hoping to get a few other items from Isaac once things are in stock! Til then, I just am forced to use my Chameleon during charging times (oh the HORROR!!!)

Thanks Skydragon...After I Posted That I Started To Think About How The Coating Is Thick On Some, Not On Others...I Would Bet That Would Make A Big Difference!

It does.

Sorry, the laughing guy is me thinking about what all I had to do to get that da*n batt out. It wasn't pretty.

MastiffMike try frying your battery!!

No...... seriously.

I used an electrical fry pan and gently raised the heat while rolling the battery over it every so often until I could just feel the heat shrink getting a little bit soft. Roll, roll, roll sort of smoothing out the lumps and bumps and it worked!! Battery is now a nice sliding fit in my mod!! Just don't go silly with the heat!

I got one stuck and panicked so I shook it real hard and it flew out. Not the best way and I only used that battery once but works in a pinch.

Yeah, I shook it too. Over and over and over and over again until I thought my arm was going to fall off or my shoulder dislocate. I can laugh about it now.

So a small observation here, I noticed quite a drop off in vapor production the last day and a half. I went through all four of my batteries and could not figure it out.. then I too a closer look at the unit and the adapter threads were a gunked up a bit with some blackish residue...took a paper towel and gave them a good clean and we are back in business. I did a sniff test and it did not apprear to be fluid related more like metal dust. If anyone else notices this let me know. Still working like a champ though!!

I've been wiping liquid out of my threads on a daily basis but haven't run into that issue yet myself.

Would that Ox-Gard work on that or should you not use it on an adapter?

OK, now I don't feel like such a doofus! Wife laughed at me when I spent close to an hour just slowly spinning my half inserted battery!

Hey MM,

Tell your wife you saved yourself and probably her as well, hours and hours of aggravation. And some surgery on the batt in order to get it out. :)

Just wanted to pop in and say that things have been going good with the laser. Not having any real issues or problems at this point. It is consistently vaping well. I have been using the 10440p from Janty in rotation of 4 bats so I don't let them fully discharge most of the time before changing one out (when I remember), no problems there either. I keep switching between my 901 and my 510 atomizer, with good results on both. I am waiting for some cartomizers to arrive, so I can give those a try. I ordered blanks, so I can use my favorite flavor combo: caramel cheese cake, and strawberry cheese cake. I hope the carto's get here soon, I hear they hold about 18 -20 drops, and go longer between refills than the regular cart/atty set up. I hope to be able to clean them and use them many times before they crap out. We will see how that goes ;)

** we had a party this weekend, and one of our guests was just getting into e cig upgrades, and was very impressed with the LPV. Just thought I'd mention that. It was fun having somebody to geek out and have e cig talk with, most people look at me cross eyed when I start going on about anything e cig related.
