If they are truly counterfeits, they can be seized by U.S. Customs, and if they are being sold by any U.S. Shops, legal action can be brought against them.

If these things are a simple as they claim to be a clone is gonna be just as good. Solid aluminum is solid aluminum. Finger sized hole and a plastic bottle. Not exactly building a detonator here. Clone chips and batteries is where it can get ugly. Finish may or may not be an issue.
So it kinda comes down to who you want making your solid metal box with plastic bottle inside.
I'm guessing the price to be in the 50ish range?? So 50 vs 150 I can't see much overlap between the two markets. Might even help the US guy as more people into BF's means more potential customers.

I will stick with the original. The clone will never have the customer support or service Rob provides.
Presale cost is <$26.00 US. I hate to say it but if it was a LP I'd probably try one. Being that it isn't, I'm out.
I appreciate good CS, but considering I have never needed CS for ANY device I've owned- clone or authentic- that's a moot point for me.

Still not sure i'm interested in BF but for 25 bucks I'll give it a shot.
I'd get the Smokeless Owl instead (infact I've now bought 2 of them) for $25ish you get a bottom fed mod with an adjustable 510 connection that will run a standard sized atty, a spare bottle, a coil jig, and a BF Atty(I don't like the atty, but hey, FREE).
I have a LP Reo Grand with the sub-ohm contacts and adjustable SS 510 connection, and honestly, I'll never buy another, regardless of price.

I traded the Owl I bought out of curiosity for a Zephyrus before ever using the Owl. It may work fine but I didn't care for the plastic it's made from- I don't believe them saying it's delrin, that's for sure. I also read the bottles need replacing due to them imparting a plastic taste to the juice.
So you don't care for your LP?
If the clone is 1:1 and well under$50, I'll be buying! Sorry but we can all admit that$140 Was a good price, when the monopoly existed. Now with competitors, the price should adjust itself!

It's just a battery box, not too complicated to reproduce in a country that makes iPhones.

If it works well enough, it would be a good beater for barn and tractor work for me.
I don't see it cutting into Reo sales because:
1. People who only buy clones weren't going to buy a Reo anyway, and
2. Many people who try it to see if they like it will then buy a real one. I've done this myself on many items. Now I often keep my clone as well for beater attys that won't devastate me if I drop them or they get stolen (or for extra parts). And sometimes I give the clone to another member to try, especially if s/he has a money situation.
If it works well enough, it would be a good beater for barn and tractor work for me.
