How's the warranty and after sale service?

Tapatyped

If the authentic Reos are so tough why do you need a warranty or service? ;)

I'm joking, but there is a real point in there too. Most mechs are tough as nails and won't "break" even under extreme circumstances. It seems that durability shouldn't be touted as an advantage of the reo over other mechs seeing as even cheap 30 dollar clone mechs can be ran over, fall off buildings, and take a dunk in a large body of water and a whole lot of sand without breaking (speaking from personal experience ;) ) so I'm not sure what antics people are getting into with their Reos where some sort of durability advantage comes out.

From what I've read Rob is an amazing guy and has more than earned the great reputation Reos have, so I can understand the ill will towards his products being cloned. But I don't know why there is still the knee-jerk reaction of "obviously this will be a piece of junk" when China has proven time and time again that it can bring clones to market that are as good, or sometimes even better than the authentics. Will this be one of the good ones? Who knows, but as of now there is no reason to label it junk.

If people's impressions on the clone are favorable I'll probably pick one up, I've been interested in joining the squonking ranks for awhile now but the price of an authentic Reo is just too much for something that I have no clue if I'll enjoy using. If I end up liking the clone then the price of an authentic isn't bad at all for something I know I'll like, just trying to show that cloning isn't all bad, even Zen has noted that clones don't bother him because he knows if people like the product they'll come back for the real thing.

I can respect people's moral objection to clones but I think a bit more honesty is in order, something isn't junk just because the idea of it offends a person's moral sense.

**since this is a clone thread which usually get heated I just wanted to make it clear my post isn't meant as an attack against any other vapers or their views, we are all vapers and we can disagree and discuss these things without vitriol and without forming grudges :)

Clone looks ugly...if that is what the clone will look like. If it was wood and made by Keebler Elves...

If you are referring to the clone,
The pics are of a real REO.
They stole the pics.

If you meant the "Leo", it's not a REO clone, its not really a clone at all. It's a KUI.

Um. Everyone has to learn to pull their post sooner or later. (and for the noobs: this is the reference)

The last post I saw from you was in a different (but similarly themed) thread.
I tend to be a little more direct than most. Straight to the meat and potatoes. Blunt if you will. With an adult sense of humor.

I'm not ashamed of that no matter how it looks in text format. If you knew me in person, you'd know I have no reason to be.

But the theme of the thread, really? I guess because I support people being able to afford decent gear and original mod makers at the same time, I'm a bad guy? I'm asking because the context of your post, while clear to a certain degree is clearly ambiguous as to the full extent of its true meaning.

For the record, I support Rob to the utmost. Though, for full disclosure, I have 2 of these REO grand clones on order.

At the same time, within the next couple weeks, I will be putting in an order with Rob and Mark from Dreadys for a custom grand for the wife.

You really should read the content of my posts with an open mind before you judge me.

Now... does anybody see where my post went? Like in the old format it used to still be there and read "post deleted by ____" with maybe an explanation. It may just be that I'm on my phone that I can't see it.

Don't know what any of that has to do w/my comment on the weight. Or why you quoted my post for that matter.

Because it's been talked about extensively here and it's not made of zinc.
From your post, it shows you haven't read the thread. I was trying to be helpful, hence the links.
Text sometimes make posts seem confrontational when they aren't.

I wasn't judging. -- In fact, I had no idea you actually had a missing post. And quite seriously, the last post I had read of yours was in another clone themed thread and you posted it maybe 20 minutes before, I think. I sort of thought you might have had the threads confused. I was trying to be helpful.

I should have known.
It seemed out of character.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

Links? One is to a page that has a 10 minute video in Swedish, one is to the ECF forum directory page (which happens when a link from the "old" forum is used), and one is to an 8-page-long ECF thread. Maybe if you had simply said, Hey dumbass, it's made of "X", not zinc... ;). I'm guessing Al, but I'm not curious enough to translate a 10 min. video, nor to read all the pages of the thread because my comment on weight was made mostly in passing. Just thought it was something that a prospective buyer might want to consider. You know what they say about good intentions and paving hell's hwy. LOL

ETA- Decided to read what member inswva had to say (he got one to review). In part:
I took some quick pics and did a quick physical comparison to my REOs. While not a 1:1 clone, it's not hard to see from where the design was derived. It's marginally larger than a Grand LP and much heavier. It weighs 7.4oz with no battery, bottle, or atty. My white LP weighs 6.7oz *with* a battery, SL door, 1/4 full bottle, and Derringer - my black wrinkle LP/SL weighs 5.7oz *with* battery, 1/2 full bottle, and Derringer. So, the Kui is a hoss.

It's all good! Moving on...

Chill out, I was trying to help.

I DID tell you clearly It's not made of zinc.
I posted a link to the original KUI pics and retail listing.
I then posted a link to the ECF thread discussing said device.

That's about the best I can do to spoon feed you information. Sorry if you
Took offense, none was intended.

If you're looking for a Reo style clone that can take any 22mm atty check out the "Leo" (name amuses me).

$24.52-$27.45 Leo Style Bottom Feeder Mod - Silver

I like the round atomizer pad, I'd be more likely to pick up a real Reo if it had a 22mm round contact pad up top and not a square.

Unless Scans Tech has changed materials, it is a zinc alloy mod. Heavy as hell and the 510 is garbage. I received one at no charge for review and ended up not reviewing it due to no response to questions I asked the manufacturer. It is certainly possible another manufacturer has picked up the design. But, if this is anything like the one I received for review, it's trash.
