Chill out, I was trying to help.

I DID tell you clearly It's not made of zinc.
I posted a link to the original KUI pics and retail listing.
I then posted a link to the ECF thread discussing said device.

That's about the best I can do to spoon feed you information. Sorry if you
Took offense, none was intended.

Replied before I realized my name was involved in this... again, if the Focal unit is from Scans Tech, it's not machined aluminum.

Honestly, I might get one out of curiousity. And I have a Reo.

If it works well enough, it would be a good beater for barn and tractor work for me.

I don't see it cutting into Reo sales because:
1. People who only buy clones weren't going to buy a Reo anyway, and
2. Many people who try it to see if they like it will then buy a real one. I've done this myself on many items. Now I often keep my clone as well for beater attys that won't devastate me if I drop them or they get stolen (or for extra parts). And sometimes I give the clone to another member to try, especially if s/he has a money situation.

If they'd have called it Cleo Grande, I'd be interested (Cleo = Cloned Reo),;

I did order a 'Terminator' bottom feeder from fasttech already though

I suppose I could have PM'ed you before quoting from your post but I considered it "public", as it was posted to an open forum. So I apologize- my intent was not to get you involved, rather it was to cite a reputable source that had empirical info.

So, zinc it is. That's good enough for me. And unsolicited comments to the contrary notwithstanding, I suspect my original thoughts of it being something of a 'brick' would hold true.

It's all good brother. I wasn't calling you out, simply pointing out that I had replied before reading all of the other posts. And, yes, you are absolutely correct, the Kui is a major brick. A crappy brick at that. ;)

LOL Duly noted. BTW, been reading your reviews and liking them. Anyone who hasn't yet should give them a look-see.

FWIW I bought a Smokeless Owl but traded for a Zephyrus before using it- I just didn't care for the "feel". Kinda plastic-y and might be a fingerprint magnet but that's just a guess. IIRC the Terminator version has a matte finish- if I'd have bought it I'd still have it I suspect. People seem to like how it works, regardless.

Swedish indeed.

Just noting some keywords along the way;

First time squonker. Battery rattle, weak door magnets. Screw holding negative terminal protruded from the base, making it hard to sit down. Fixable by placing the screw on the inside and filing down some threads on some plate. Exterior "feel" is nice. No sharp edges. Included RDA is "anything but nice". 2x 28awg coils 2mm dia is very tight fit. OK flavor, too small to comfortably build in. "Ego"-sized. Machine oil mayhem. "Sleek, not beautiful"

Only mention of material (I believe) is "I really like this chrome". Seems he loves the mod but could do without the dripper.

The word on the KUI is it's not very well made.
Cheap feel, "iffy" switch, and battery rattle.
One of China's first attempts at a squonker.
Id pass this up unless you like to tinker.

Better versions will come.

The early Nemesis clones were horrible. Within a year or so they were hard to tell apart from the originals.

If China ever figured out that all they have to do is make a half decent, non clone, simple square shaped box squonker they would absolutely dominate the market.

Without clones they would give it some rediculous name, and plaster a goofy picture logo all over it.

Cough....*GEYSCANO**cough....

Half decent is the key... like the Kui, the Geyscano is not without its quirks - 10A, 6V output limits, for example.

Yea they do have an issue in the naming dept dont they lol
I read somewhere it's a combination of "Geyser" and "Volcano"...now that I think about it, that doesn't make it any better.

I heard the chip is horrible, auto fires, short lifespan, etc....
And the first version had the name plastered/ painted on the side in huge block letters. It was so horrible they finally moved it to the bottom.
Lol.
Great idea, horrible Chinese execution.

Look at all that vapor ! LMFAO !!!

I had a look at the video and almost immediately noticed that the door was on the other side of the mod compared to my Reo Grand. Interesting, but IMO hardly enough of a change to avoid legal issues down the road.

At around 1:27 I notice the guy is unscrewing the atty to screw it on.

I thought about that for a few seconds and said to myself, "Self, they flipped this video horizontally".

Or I've flipped my lid :sneaky:

My dog thinks it's me ;)

ETA: Had another look and the first 0:24 seconds of it are not flipped.

I think my dog is wrong :2cool:
