Unfortunately, the new rules from the FDA require e-cigarette businesses to verify the age of any purchaser. Granted, online verification isn't foolproof. But companies have to make an honest effort to verify the age of a purchaser or face the wrath of the government.
Yep. I don't have a problem with any of the companies needing to find a solution or the companies providing a solution. But when I reflect on this thread I find it interesting that some providers are vilified and others are praised when they all make money scraping, buying and selling our personal data. In that way I find Blue Check's published policies actually most honest.

well that's cool. I just noticed a rep from Blue Check just posted in an area of this forum dedicated to services for suppliers. I assume that conversations there would best be between those parties so I won't interfere, but it certainly could be informative and I might learn something so I watched it.

You profit motivated support of the FDA's regulations seem to contradict that marketing spiel.
So you see, this is why I made the assumption a particular thread in a supplier's services area would be best left between suppliers and those who provide services to them.
Of course there's a profit motivation. Duh.
For vapers to insinuate that that implies support of the FDA regulations is vapers being vapers. Very irritating.

From the Deeming thread...

The current e-cig market is ~$3.4 Billion dollars. Of that, 2/3 is on cigalikes, or roughly $2 Billion dollars, which it s the market segment already occupied by BT. "We" are only one third of the total sales in vaping.

With that figure, it's easy to understand how it all works out to be a win/win for BT, but why they would want to change the predicate date. Remember, their products were not on the market in 2007, which means they will have to go through the approval process and "potentially" not be approved. In many ways, they're in the same position of us vapers. No one knows for sure if the FDA will ever even approve any product.

Yes, BT has lots of money to sepnd on all the paperwork. But what would be better for them? A guarantee of being on the market with Blu, Vuse, Market, as they currently are if the predicate date were changed, as they already "own" most of the c-cig business (by revenue)? Or would they rather take their chances on getting their PMTAs' approved by leaving the regs in their current form and hope they can spend enough on testing to meet the as of now unstated expectations the FDA will require for "approval"?

That's why it's a win/win. If the predicate date is changed to 2016, all the products BT has are set to stay on the market as is, and currently bringing in $2 Billion dollars. If the predicate is unchanged from 2007, BT at least knows they're the only ones likely big enough to ever get a PMTA approved.

If you think of future sales, most are going to go to cigalikes, as that's the typical path for a smoker. Whether open vaping systems remains around to compete really doesn't matter in BT's math.

Deeming Regulations have been released!!!!

Wizard Labs is using Veratad. I thanked them for that in the comments.
I didn't order any nic, so apparently they verify anyone ordering anything.
All I had to do was enter my birthdate. Easy peasy. They should have
no problems verifying me and apparently there has been no problem.

Thank you. I recently bought nic from WL and wasn't asked for anything I wasn't willing to give. I didn't know they were using Veratad though so thanks for that.

Maybe they just switched recently but you can't miss the little pop up box that
says 'veratad verification'. LOL

I did some (OK a lot) of ordering over Labor Day. I ordered a tank and a dew coils from MVS. I know they use Veratad, and my order went through just fine requesting USPS first class mail as it's cheap and they're nearby, so it's essentially overnight shipping for me. I had a few orders with other vendors which also use Veratad without a problem. I received the package today with an adult signature required. I still paid the low USPS first class price.

I don't know if MVS is going through some growing pains with Veratad and age verification, and covering themselves every way possible, but my order was processed quickly and without hassle.

Are these other vendors on the list saying Veratad?

Eciggity was one. I was prompted for my DOB but not my SSN. No issue and tracking shows it coming first class mail without notation of signature required (as MVS tracking number showed on the USPS site).

They must have changed this recently because I tried to order something about a week and a half ago, and they asked for DOB and the last 4 of my SSN. I canceled the order and got it somewhere else.
