Beyondvape will take your order, then you'll hear nothing for days. Then YOU call them and they do an age verification... No email. Just nothing. They said I passed, but still haven't updated the sight to reflect anything might ship anytime soon... still says pending verification.
That's ridiculous, they shouldn't even take your money unless they can send your order.

I think the mods would be a little put out if they had to update the OP. All you need to do to find out if your vendor is listed is to do a search of the vendors name on this thread.
I was thinking more like an editable online doc or spreadsheet. I think they use one in the TP thread.

What did they ask to verify your age?

Egic .com is using something called EVS. It is an integrated age verifying program embedded within their own software on their server. It is a .net program but I am not yet sure if they are storing the info they collect or not. They do ask for name, dob and last 4 of the ssn. If your age is under 27, or if they can not verify your info, then they will ask for photo id. I would think this may be a little safer ONLY because you know where you info is(if they save it) and its not available to everyone on the internet protected by their firewalls. They have said they will not sell any of their customers info.

So if you think about it, when you buy from any vendor they already have your name and address and some already have a cell phone number already stored in their databases. I have seen some sites where you to actually put in your dob just to enter their site and look around. So given that, I would think they already have most of the info they are asking for anyway. Except the last 4 of the ssn.

    All this JUST SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the future of vaping, as its only going to get worse.....sigh.........

Thanks tmcase for this thread. It will be very useful to vapers as time goes on.

Not much chance of the FDA responding to public displeasure, but vendors should certainly respect the preferences of their customers ...

Exactly, and if we express our dissatisfaction with their age verification verbally and by not purchasing from them, they should get the message. There must be less invasive and less risky ways of doing this.

Yes, it took me a while to find it myself......brb with the link

    :)
Crap, I did misspell the website....its ecig .com Its been one of those days......:(
    eta:

This is a blog for developers that use this service.
    Extension Verification Service (EVS)

The program where a vendor can verify.(if registered as a company with them)
    EVS (Extension Verification Service)

And this one is the actual software company.

.NET CMS - Content Management Software | DNN
They have lots of programs to integrate within the .net web servers on vendors sites. If you are a programmer, you will understand this. If not, it can seem kinda ...wth....

Wa-a-a-ay, wa-a-a-a-ay in a another world far long gone, when you were issued your SS# to apply for your very first job around 16, the SS Ofc. would admonish you not to give your number out to anyone other than your employer........Now it's become a National I.D. Number......Might as well tattoo it on our wrists.

Then the IRS decided if the employer has the SS#, they might as well use it. Then as banks had to report stuff like interest, they needed it to open accounts. Then credit card issuers figured if the banks have it, we can use it to check up on people's finances. And on and on........

As far as I'm concerned, the only government issued number I have which is still secure and I won't give out is my passport number, unless I'm traveling. Then airlines, hotels, and other countries know that number.

There is no privacy in this world.

What did they ask to verify your age?

Nothing. They ran my name through google and found a listing in my city with my birthdate and age. That's it... I guess I just needed to prompt them to do it. They said I should have received an email but nothing in SPAM or Junk. Maybe they are just unprepared and behind.

As bad as this is for the industry I can't help but feel like the vendors knew this was coming and should have gotten things together before the 8th instead of scrambling now.

I wonder what they will do if they don't find a document or they find one with your exact name that isn't you. I just google my full name and found 1 hit. It said I lived in the wrong state, wrong address and that I died in 2001.

So far I do not like what I have been reading about BlueCheck, a start up company with no track record, on other forums and FB from the vendors and what BlueCheck themselves stated in Q&A's and in their privacy policy concerning the disclosure of the personal information you provide, tracking, data storage (which they will not delete from their database even if requested) and the disclaimer on data security.
Online buyers need to take some time and look into the companies who you are trusting (or not) with your personal information in order to make an informed decision and decide what your own comfort level is.

Thanks @YoursTruli. I haven't had time to read up on Bluecheck yet so thanks for the heads-up.

    DON'T DO IT, KAT!!!!

    Trust me.

I was thinking more like an editable online doc or spreadsheet. I think they use one in the TP thread.

    But but but........

It's not their fault. We must take it out on our legislators, come November.

    Vote wisely (Johnson/Weld 2016)

Absolutely. I'm sure most vendors are as upset about this apple cart as we are. They are prolly scrambling to be one of the "good ones" to retain our business.

And in terms of what you said, champions, yes, they knew this was coming, but like most VAPERS (who also knew this was coming for two years now), there are prolly vendors who reacted in the same way as some of us. Unprepared. Disbelief. Etc.

You can add Nicoticket to the list.

    Blue-Check age verification requires....
    Last 4 digits SS#
Selfie of you holding driver's license without obscuring your face.
cell phone number to receive the 4-digit SMS code that is entered before paying for your order.

This may just be an early-stage glitch but after I placed my order AND received the "shipping confirmation" email from NT, I received another email from Blue-Check stating that they could not verify my "age" and I must send another "selfie" before the verification process can be completed.

I have been going back and forth with these folks since last week and just today, I received ANOTHER "Blue-Check" email letting me know... that since I have not sent the requested information, my "case" has been closed.

Now while this is currently happening, I received my package. I would like to know if anybody else has gone through anything like this. I'm very hesitant to place anymore orders with NT or with any vendor using Blue Check Verification.

Needless to say, I'm extremely frustrated (to put it mildly) with this entire process, especially requiring so much personal information!

    Sorry for this long post.

Great post, JoAnn, with really good info.
