Bear in mind, depending on the service used, a vendor may be manually calling the verification in by phone, rather than doing it online. This still meets the FDA requirement.

20 posts is what everyone gets. Since the switch to XF, the option to change that is no longer available.

This is true. I put "no change (yet)" by those vendors that may have something in place that we don't see and an explanation of what "no change means, but maybe there is a better way of putting it. I'm trying to keep this list as clutter free as possible but I'm willing to hear suggestions on how to handle those vendors that don't seem to have changed anything.

I personally don't think we should have to 'guess' at whether our favorite vendors are doing AV or not. If they are doing AV or at least making some sort of arrangement to do so, then it is their responsibility to inform their customers. They have to know that everyone is up in arms over this and by saying nothing adds fuel to the fire. A simple email to their customers or even a short blurp on their website doesn't take but a few minutes to create. It could make or break their business and I would think that would do all they could to ensure their continued place in this market.

I agree 100%.

Considering the FDA is now requiring it, it should be assumed that EVERY US based e-cigarette company is doing or will soon be doing checks.

Perhaps just "no change / unknown" ?

No change means the vendor may be using Veratad which is invisible to the buyer unless they cannot find a match, then you will be asked for additional ID OR the vendor isn’t in compliance (yet).

.

Instead of suggesting a vendor may not be in compliance, just say they may be using another verification system that is not apparent at the time of order.

I'm sure there are many other invisible ways to verify, including using adult signature required shipping, and the vendor pays the fee himself. I don't like putting a target on someone if we don't know what system they are using. I don't object to saying that someone uses a specific system, if you know it, and letting the buyer decide how to go forward with a purchase.

Yeah, I like that, thanks. :)

What bothers me a little is I'm not verifying all these vendors and I can't, so I'm trusting everyone is speaking from experience and not word of mouth. This list is no good if the info in not correct.

I placed an order with RTSVapes today. Seems I was verified before 8/8 and am still showing up as verified so am not sure which company they are using for verification. Hopefully someone else has ordered from them and we can find out. If I am remembering it correctly they did ask for my birth date when I placed my last order for nicotine a couple of weeks before the doom date and doing that verified me. I have searched their site and haven't found out how they do their verification but in my case they just needed my birth date.

RTS started doing age verification many years ago. I am not sure what system they use but, I do remember that it matches you up by public records. It started so long ago that I am not able to recall the specifics now.

Yeah, not being able to verify personally kinda bothers me too. That's why I posted the link as it came right from the Vendor.

I think Highdesertvapes.com must have something in place already for AV because NM passed a law awhile back about no sales to minors and also the child proof caps before the new rules. So they had to do all this before FDA came on the scene.

Sure could use more info on them if anybody has it.

Possibly. I'd kind of like to get away from "no change" but say the same thing. My vocabulary isn't that good so I got nothing.

Yeah, hard to get around that, when there's nothing to let us know...

Maybe No apparent change / unknown?

..........Now, that said, BlueCheck absolutely provides your data to other people. You have to read the fine print of their pdf file, but they admit to it.

https://api2.bluecheck.me/modal/data/policy.pdf

After reading Bluecheck's lengthy and ridiculously ambiguous privacy policy, even though they try hard to obscure/conceal the fact (legal doublespeak) there's little doubt they're a marketing company's dream come true. This is one of the reasons I won't be purchasing from -any- vendor who uses Bluecheck for age verification, the other is that they store your sensitive personal information (no doubt so they can share it) which subjects people to unnecessary risk. I don't feel sorry for vendors who elected to use Bluecheck either, they're a business and should've done their homework to ensure customer privacy wouldn't be compromised/sold out by the very company -they- engaged to provide age verification services. Took me all of 30 minutes to locate and read Bluecheck's policies, it's not rocket science only required caring enough to actually look/read. Vendors could easily have done the same, they've had ample notice/time to prepare for this.

At least California residents appear to have the right to inquire about their personal data being shared with (sold to) direct marketing companies, not that I'd expect Bluecheck's response to be straightforward or sincere.... but this proviso in-of-itself is quite revealing;

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an e-mail to
