Which completely makes sense for a face to face B&M transaction. I think the need for meeting that requirement for an internet order is a misinterpretation of the process required for compliance. I understand vendors are anxious about how the FDA will be enforcing the regs, but this selfie thing is likely not required to meet the regulations.

However, if the age verification service cannot properly establish age using the public record information supplied during the transaction, which can occur for lots of reasons that aren't nefarious, a copy of something like a drivers license with a date of birth can still be required. That DL image can be edited by blacking out the license number, and should still be acceptable for establishing age.

I agree 100%. To their credit some vendors have adopted the "best in industry" approach because they chose an AVS that had -years of experience- providing age verification for online tobacco purchases. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, these vendors looked to an industry that has learned to thrive under these rules/requirements and has successfully done so for many years. Transactions with vendors who chose "wisely" should be near seamless, in fact you might wonder if they're even verifying age it's that unobtrusive for most customers. Unfortunately, many other vendors didn't choose wisely, what we're seeing from them is a panicked knee jerk response to something they clearly don't yet understand. While they're busy stumbling around in the dark trying to re-invent the wheel many are inadvertently throwing their customer's online security/privacy under the bus. Especially those who decided to use an AVS that appears to be a cleverly disguised data mining company....

I just finished placing an ejuice order at Derallecigs.com...

6 PACK SPECIALS - $26

(I've been ordering from them for about 2 years. They have GREAT tasting ejuice...EXCELLENT prices...fast FREE shipping.)

They can be added to the "Unknown means the vendor may be using Veratad which is invisible to the buyer OR they may be using some other invisible AV service" category.

..

Interesting! I just tried to place a nic order at RTS Vapes from where I've bought some before. I went through the whole ordering and when I pressed "Submit" this box popped up
rts.jpg

I hit close and then had to resubmit my name, address, year of birth and email and hit submit again. Then I got this empty light blue screen and nothing else. So I called them and they said they are having problems with the AVP and he would be glad too take the order over the phone. He said he didn't know what AVP they use. Our list says it could be Veritad.

Anyway I really like ordering from them. The three times I had to call them they have been very pleasant to deal with.

Thanks Bea. We probably will be seeing a lot more of this :censored: because they want to be extra sure they are in compliance. Until the FDA say Veratad is not good enough, these vendors are just creating more work for themselves and a hassle for us buyers. :(

I called Wizard Labs today but couldn't talk to John (owner) so I talked to CS. She was very pleasant and answered all my questions to the best of her ability. She said that they are working with Veratad to integrate their service into their website. :thumb: I also asked her if they would be asking for any extra ID like a selfie or last 4 of SSN and she didn't know. A tech from Veratad is going to work with them on Friday so maybe we'll find out something on their website by Monday.

Does anyone know what the logic is behind wanting anyone under age 27 must be visually IDed - and before anyone says anything I know thats an oxymoron when government is involved. I mean you csn drink after age 18 in most states so why 27 for vaping. Seems an odd age.
Apparently age 27 is the new age of adulting. Your kids have to allowed on your insurance until age 27 now days. So adult is 27 & up. Except for drinking, voting, & serving in the military. Because being responsible & accountable, & making independant decisions are for Real Adults. Except when then gov't can cop a nickel.

I just placed an order at Wizard Labs to see what they have anything in place now. I need more nic like I need a hole in the head.

My order went through without asking for any ID other than what we usually give at checkout so I'm going to put "Unknown" beside Wizard Labs for now. Get it while you can people. ;)

I just got off the phone with My Freedom Smokes. I explained that since being verified on my iPhone I can no longer place orders on my iPad. They looked up my account and couldn't explain why? They said it goes by your account, not your device. I have no idea what's going on? But you can disregard my tin foil hat idea about the original device. It is odd though, I do absolutely everything on my iPad, always have without an issue, now I have to place orders with MFS on my iPhone :?:
Hello. Possibly they're matching IP with ID.
In other words, your pad possibly gets used with your ISP where your Iphone probably gets used with your
cell provider. It's probable that both go through different IPs so since your ID is matched to your cell's IP and your pad is matched to...blah blah, you got it.
Who knows? Just thinking with my fingers..LOL

Just exactly like that happened to me a few days ago with RTS Vapes so I switched over to ecig express where I usually order from.

The Vapor Chef sent an email last night, mostly about their sale today, but at the bottom they have a whole thing about the fda regulations and that they chose to go with Blue Check.

Thank you. Added to the list.

I'm still waiting to hear something back about RTSVapes. Might have to change to UNKNOWN.

Hi,
This is the best explanation I've heard yet. Works for me! Thanks for the help. At least now I know I'm not crazy.

No JB, you're not necessarily crazy. It's the gosh darned gub'min that's nuts.
Seems you need to get carded with your pad now...again

You're welcome :)

I wonder if we would have to use the verification if we were only ordering flavors. :?: I don't need any more Nic for around 20 years. :|
