    What?
    4.7Ω coil?
    9.9Ω coil?
I've never heard of anyone using resistances that high vaping anything, there are no replaceable coil heads offered in those resistances from any manufacturer.
Most Mtl delivery device replaceable atomizer heads run from .7Ω to around 2.2Ω.

    4.7Ω / 4.59v = 4.5w
    9.9Ω / 8.89v = 8w

Maybe I should have mentioned that I rebuild protank/MT3/H2 coil heads using higher resistance wire and numbers of wraps than they come with. I use GS-H2 and GS-H5 tanks on Smok Zmax mods which only go down to 3 watts.

As others have said, maybe you should try unflavored. That's what I'm vaping at the moment. When I smoked, except from the first few puffs of the day, I couldn't find any "taste" in tobacco, so in a sense, vaping unflavored with a mtl setup, is as close to smoking as it can get for me.

Maybe ditch the menthol based flavours, they can be a bit extreme imo. Have a go on something like Boss Reserve, or Custard based ones something a bit stronger but creamy. Don't really know, as others have said thats a hard one! got to keep trying mate and good luck I know where you stand being an ex smoker, I didn't find switching to vaping easy either.

The advice here is all over the map. Please understand, I know it may seem conflicting but it is not. Any of these suggestions may be the fix.

    Also...

Some juice needs to steep, maybe for weeks.

It’s possible to ruin a coil even at low watts if you don’t prime it properly.

I never really found the ultimate flavor that lasted. I eventually just started mixing unflavored juice with nic.

I mix tobacco flavors at 6% flavor for occasional use and use them as add mixes here and there to lightly flavor a tank of unflavored when I want a little flavor in my unflavored juice.

To me that was a drive by: I hate everything about vaping, especially the flavors (although perhaps, we should send that post to the FDA to let them know that flavors can be harmless to some smokers, including teens) and then.... Nothing.

If I were serious about vaping, I would return to find the magic answers, although it could be a member of SAFE (Smokers Against Flavored Ecigs) you just never know...

Maybe they needed to get it off their chest that they spent 7 dollars on a flavor they hated and a setup that could have been spent on valuable smoking dollars.

I do think your correct.. you know for me I bought a 10 dollar ego/ce4 kit off eBay and never smoked again (had withdrawals mind you but did it)

My husband on the other hand nothing was right for him... it took forever to get him set..

So... we are all just different and some people are just more difficult.. lol..

The Zmax can put out a max of 6v, so with the 9.9 coil the max wattage it could deliver to the coil with that device would be 3.6w, even if you set it higher.

I didn't realize. I guess I don't really have a good grasp of the electricity. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've been experimenting with different coil resistances and 9.9 is the highest I've gone, so I guess I find it satisfactory at even lower power than I thought. I think I'm settling at about 5 ohms though.

So all I can say is that the flavor seems best to me at a power no higher than just below that which makes the coil perceptively glow in the dark.

I''m puzzled. You say you've got the Aspire Nautilus 2 and you're using the 1.8 ohms coils which are best between 10-14W. I found the Nautilus 2 a pretty flavoursome tank when I tried it. Forgive me for saying this but you are priming the coils properly with juice aren't you and letting them fully saturate before vaping?

Let's assume it's not that and perhaps your taste buds are on the blink due to smoking. No idea where you are so it's hard to suggest juice but double menthol, strong fruity flavours, even drinks flavours like lime and lemon or pink lemonade might work out for you.

@mcduffy You sound the perfect candidate for a temp control vape. The best kit for that is something with a DNA chip inside.

As for flavours...imo it's because you are still smoking and you need to stop completely for your taste buds to recover. You also need to realise that there is no perfect vape.

When I gave up it was a case of trying to find something illusive that i've never to this day achieved/found. The flavours for me were just better than the last one or worse.....they were either tolerable or they weren't...

The most important thing is that you get off the killer sticks....being alive is kinda nice :)
