Nearly 3 weeks in and I definitely have more energy, sleep 100% better and feel 100% better when I wake up, sense of smell is improved but I'm not eating a lot more (because I'm still getting nicotine) tho' my appetite seems better and I'm more likely to end up licking the plate lol. My breathing is clear and I don't get dizzy when I take deep breathes.
E-cigs are pretty much the best thing to happen to me and my lungs and its suprising how much smoking tobacco had decreased my quality of life.

Think of this... 1,5,15,30yrs of atomized tar has attached its self to your lungs... Honestly... I think it would take more than two weeks for your body to remove it.

Have you ever washed your car and found webs of tar on the skirting (lower sides of car) and had to scrub like all h3ll to get it off? most times we had to use something abrasive to get it off....well the only abrasive substance that your lungs have to remove tar is...well .. Mucus, so yes I think two weeks of improvement is great but it get way better :D

Trust me. I had quit for over a year. Concentration went up, mood went up, and erection... well you know ;) Started smoking again after my wife had surgery for topical preg. But soon to be back on the wagon. My e-cigs should be here in two days, Yah :D:D

The main thing I noticed after switching full time to e-cigs (started vaping almost a year ago but still smoked cigs until a month ago) was that my chronic hacking stopped. The other thing I noticed was that I feel a lot more energetic. However, I still have to determine if vaping has affected my running because my progress has been very slow compared to when I didn't smoke/vape or all - last year around this time I got up to 5 miles a day running in about a month and lost 15 lbs. I started running 2 weeks ago and have GAINED weight while my mileage increase has been very small :(. Could be the high levels of nicotine causing too much vasoconstriction which is preventing my muscles from receiving the oxygen/nutrients it needs to increase my endurance. Also, I read that PG can raise levels of lactic acid (as evidenced by the feeling of soreness by some vapers when they first start - something which I personally experienced myself) which is a bad thing when you're trying to exercise.

BOOM!! That sounds highly probable. The PG, might actually aid in the absorption of the NIC, as its more hypotonic than tar… Right
I'm guessing a substance starting as a liquid-to-vapor is more easily absorbed than a solid-to-smoke blah blah bonding yadda yadda active transport... Lower your dosage by half. Gashin I think your right.

A little bit of a long story...

In August 2007 I had my 13th surgery from my accident. It was the 13th in less than 3 years. The day after the surgery things started going bad really fast. Heart rate was 190, BP was out the roof, blood oxygen level was only 74%. Turns out I had a couple of blood clots in my lungs and I had this thing called atelecstasis, which is where lobes of the lungs get really spongy and actually collapse. I had it in both lower lobes from having to lay in a semi lounging position for 3 years.

In October of 2008 I finally had the money to start seeing a doc to try and get my BP and HR under control. At that point I had no air moving from the bottom loaves of my lungs. We were having a hard time getting my BP and HR under control, in fact, in April, just a few days after I started vaping he wanted to admit me to the hospital because my readings were so bad. I didn't go because I don't have any insurance and couldn't afford it.

On June 3rd, went for my monthly check up. Blood Pressure is normal, hrat rate runs in the high 80's which is okay and he can hear air moving in both lower lobes of my lungs!!! I'm still coughing up some gunk now and then but I feel toms better. I am actually breathing and not short of breath and I don't feel like I'm running a marathon while I'm sitting on my couch.

Anyone that doubts the short term effects of vaping just needs to read all the stories on here. We haven't gotten any long term studies done but it sure can't be worse than smoking analogs.

( Sorry that was long )

I started doing some deep breathing exercises about 1 week into vaping and no anologs. I noticed I could inhale maybe 4 seconds before my lungs felt full. Now 10 weeks into vaping and I can inhale a full 8 seconds before my lungs feel full. I think that's a great improvement.

Off subject:
Are there any people here with ocd's? Have you noticed any markable decline in your ocd?

I tell everyone that sees me vaping that I know it's saved my life as well. I was well on my way to a heart attack, stroke or both. I think there are many of us out there like that.

Sorry for the :Bump: but

Obama praised the historic legislation, which gives the Food and Drug Administration unprecedented authority to regulate what goes into tobacco products, to make public the ingredients and to prohibit marketing campaigns geared toward children.

Food and Drug Administration has unprecedented authority to regulate the products that go into tobacco products, :nah:

HMMM...?? Nicotine is a Product that goes into tobacco products

Soooo do they now have control over all the chemicals used in the production of, or derived from tobacco, and can ban they unapproved use of these substances, Like...... how they control medication:confused:

Sorry just got excited over the issue. I reading that in another tab while I was posting on this issue.

Back on track: Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether: A 13-Week Inhalation Toxicity Study in Rats and Rabbits. Landry, T.D., Gushow, T.S. and Yano, B.L. (1983). Fundam. Appl. Toxicol. 3:627–630. Fischer 344 rats (10/sex/exposure concentration) and New Zealand White rabbits (7/sex/exposure concentration) were exposed to 0, 300, 1000, or 3000 ppm (0, 1.09, 3.62, or 10.9 mg/L) of propylene glycol monomethyl ether (PGME) for 6 hr/da, 5 da/wk, for 13 weeks. Minimal effects were observed in animals exposed to 3000 ppm. Indications of a transient central nervous system depression were observed in rats and rabbits exposed to 3000 ppm. There were also small increases (6 to 8%) in mean relative liver weights of 3000 ppm exposed male and female rats relative to controls. Minimal histologic effects were observed in the livers of 3000 ppm exposed female rats. These were suggestive of hepatocellular hypertrophy but were without evidence of degenerative changes. There was an increase in the urinary pH of male rats exposed to 3000 ppm PGME for 4 weeks, but this was not evident after 12 weeks of exposure. There was no indication of histopathological effects in the kidneys of either species, and there were no hematological effects. No treatment-related effects were found in either rats or rabbits exposed to 300 or 1000 ppm.

Sorry folks copt+paste the wrong one

I think this is useful

Cyclosporine inhalation solution has the potential to improve outcomes following lung transplantation by delivering high concentrations of an immunosuppressant directly to the allograft while minimizing systemic drug exposure and associated toxicity. The objective of these studies was to evaluate the potential toxicity of aerosolized cyclosporine formulated in propylene glycol when given by inhalation route to rats and dogs for 28 days. Sprague-Dawley rats received total inhaled doses of 0 (air), 0 (vehicle, propylene glycol), 7.4, 24.3, and 53.9 mg cyclosporine/kg/day. In a separate study, beagle dogs were exposed to 0, 4.4, 7.7, and 9.7 mg cyclosporine/kg/day. Endpoints used to evaluate potential toxicity of inhaled cyclosporine were clinical observations, body weight, food consumption, respiratory functions, toxicokinetics, and clinical/anatomic pathology. Daily administration of aerosolized cyclosporine did not result in observable accumulation of cyclosporine in blood or lung tissue. Toxicokinetic analysis from the rat study showed that the exposure of cyclosporine was approximately 18 times higher in the lung tissue compared to the blood. Systemic effects were consistent with those known for cyclosporine. There was no unexpected systemic toxicity or clinically limiting local respiratory toxicity associated with inhalation exposure to cyclosporine inhalation solution at exposures up to 2.7 times the maximum human exposure in either rats or dogs. There were no respiratory or systemic effects of high doses of propylene glycol relative to air controls. These preclinical studies demonstrate the safety of aerosolized cyclosporine in propylene glycol and support its continued clinical investigation in patients undergoing allogeneic lung transplantation.

I was about a 1 1/2 - 2pack a day analog smoker -- Yea I had the cough. NOW I maybe smoke 5-10 analogs a day and lowering that with the purchase of a couple more kits. Not only do I wake up to a cough-free morning, but I feel soooo much better. I have energy I didn't think I could have again. Now I do have a very slight *cough* every now and then, but it isn't near as heavy and I have to honestly say there's no gunk anymore. I just can't get around the morning coffee needing a regular cig or after meals.

Thank GOD for this product. I tell everyone -- This has changed my life. And who knows, maybe saved it.

It has made me wonder though, if nicotine isn't the ONLY addictive thing in analogs since I do still get the *crave*.
