Sandy, did you enjoy your visit with your daughter? What did you girls do?

DH and I went to a small get together last night. It was so-so. Many people I didn't know. Damn, I hate am not good at small talk!

I've made a lasagna for dinner tonight. Trying to talk my fat .... onto the treadmill but so far it's not working!

Mookie, I hear ya on the small talk. I can't stand being around a bunch of strangers.

My niece's wedding yesterday was wonderful! But freezing. It was out in a cornfield in Peru, Illinois. Which is near Starved Rock. Which is out near the great plains of Interstate-80.

My son came in from California, and my daughter came in, but sadly, she left this morning. I didn't drive her to the airport - was afraid of running into Chicago Marathon traffic.

It was wonderful seeing all the family.

This last one she's a few days older, and posing with my "hello kiity-ized" Leo Pro and itaste, lol

Colin's the one in the pics - she was about 2 weeks old, if that, in these pics :) We got her at 6-8 days old and we've had her for 11 weeks this coming Thursday. We named her Squirt but I call her Lambchop because she dragged a whole one off my plate last week and she only weighs about 2lbs, lol! Colin calls her Peanut cause her favorite thing in the world is (biodegradable/edible) packing peanuts. When we took her in for her 10 week visit for goopey eyes and sneezles, she only weighed 1.5 lbs, so she's a major runt...but spunky as hell! I think we're keeping her -- she'd make 8 inside (but the house is plenty big and they have their own room full of climby & playthings) plus two outside that we're gonna bring in and put up in the 350sq ft carpeted attic.

Oy! We're the cat people! I just can't bear to watch Scooter (one eyed) and Absinthe, the middle brother of Squirt and Foster - they all have the same mama and daddy -- and Scooter was thrown from a car, spend another winter out in the snow :( Scooter's endured it for two years and Abby doesn't know cold so I'm caving in and they're coming in, lol!

I'll post more of her growing up pics from the laptop.

Daisy, I took pix of the posts where we said we missed you! Just scroll to the bottom of the page https://picasaweb.google.com/108406889925344805113/ForECF#

Awww thank you! I missed everyone too! Being sick sucks...being able to finally (thank you SSDI & SSI!!) pay for anything I want or need is a safe feeling and the biggest weight off my shoulders for 6.5 years. I have to say that being 40 and on Medicare is something that confuses people, lol! Don't even get me started on picking a supplement plan, oy! I'm also getting assistance called Extra Help that makes my prescriptions no more than like $6.50 and I don't have to pay the normal monthly Medicare cost - huge relief. Colin's been supporting the two of us on his SSI for over 2 years, no more worries for him now either!

OMG! I totally just rambled....I guess I AM back, lol!

Daisy, sorry you haven't been feeling well. But it sounds like you are better and I'm glad you got the insurance and aid finally all squared away.

You kitten is so adorable. We got one also around the same age as yours - born July 26th. I'll post another pic so you can see her:

I can't imagine having that many cats and a special play area just for them. How sweet of you!

I saw some of the other kitten pics -- too cute! She's way bigger than our ill Squirt is...but she's starting to catch up. Right now she's cuddling in my lap :) I think your ill girl is about 3 weeks older, so that tells you how small she is. She didn't want to eat so we had to force feed her with a syringe. She still try to suckle air after she drinks which is uber cute...she just makes her lil sucky-sucky face, I'll try to get some video of it :)

As for the rest of it, we think I may have chronic fatigue syndrome, which would account for my constant low grade temps and just feeling icky all the time. The judge in my SSDI case actually took it upon herself to evaluate my first application, which was 5 years old and was still undecided, and she granted me another 18 months of back pay. This meant a total of 6 years of back pay. Now we can get the roof replaced and the basement sealed and finished -- YAY! We, of course, also spoiled ourselves silly as we have to spend it down to a very low amount by next May, darn...sucks when they MAKE you spend money, lol!

When we first got Rocky he was sick and wouldn't eat either. Had to do the syringe feeding every few hours around the clock for the first few days. It was like having a newborn again. Then he had to go into the vets for iv fluids a couple of times. I don't remember now what was wrong but he was fine within a week. He is now huge and wants to eat constantly.

Roz is growing so fast. Why can't they stay small and adorable! She is so full of energy and spunk. Poor Rocky has been trying to stand his ground but doesn't have a chance with this spunky kitten and her sharp claws. She is even keeping Lars (our dog) in his place. He wants to play with her so bad but she won't have any of it. She just swipes at his nose and he retreats.

Sandy, you look so lovely in your dress and vaping away. I like the purple set up also. Glad the wedding went well and you had a nice time.

I'm getting ready to go into work. This afternoon shift is weird. It's nice to be able to sleep in but strange going into work in the afternoon when it's the time you are used coming home from work.
