Can someone tell me what the difference is--other than price--between the Janty regular atomizers and the throwaways (TAWAs)?

As I understand it, Janty has extra QA in place at the factory (or something). What about the throwaways? Didn't pass? <scratches head> Still have the logo on the band? Can anybody pitch in with your experiences with either or both?

Also, I'm curious as to how many companies actually manufacture 510 attys. Not just Janty, but in general. I read that they're all manufactured in China, but not much else.

Thanks in advance...

Hi F8,
Just to let you know first off, the TAWA atty's have the TAWA logo on them not the Janty logo. Also, the Janty atty's have the 6 month warrenty which you pay for and nothing beats that. I lost 1 atty already and in MHO the warrenty has been fulfilled and anything else goes wrong with my atty's is just a bonus as for replacement.
Also, the atty's that are built by Joye in China is built slower, as in better handling and care that goes into the build of the Janty att's. All atty's are in respect, hand built. So, with that said, you could buy a TAWA and another at the price or you can buy one atty from Janty with the 6 month warrenty and if it goes bad with-in the 6 months, replace it with a new one from Janty.
Lets just say, if you bought the Janty atty for $16 and every month it went bad, it will be replaced for free. Its like a new atty for one price.
Hope this helps and I know either Mik or Ethan will chime in too.
One more thing, Janty doesn't manufacture anything, Joye and SLB does the manufacturing. This is my understanding.

Hi,
I had gotten my eGo and after the first week, a Janty atty (the one with the set) Died. No, Janty doesn't give a return envelope. It's not that much to return. I had returned my dead atty and got a new one in return. I bought 3 extra Janty atty's when I got the set. I also have about 15 other 510 atty's, but if Janty is giving a 6 month warrenty, I will use theirs until my warrenty ends. Any 510 atty will work in the eGo and I have used them.
I have an atty that is still working for 3 months straight now, but is falling off a bit and its time is comming. As for Cignot, I had to return an atty to them and never had a return envelope from them although they did send me something for my postage. That is good CS no doubt. Janty has Good CS too and do everything they can to satisfy their customers as well.
Now this will be weird, I got a 5pk of attys from tw and still was one the 1st one I used. I also got a reg one from there and it died in 3 days. I got another and that died in 5 days. But the MP one is still going strong.

Sound activated? really.

A lot of auto batteries are sound activated now. You can tap them on a desk and activate them, drive down the road with the window open and they'll activate or sit in a movie theater and damn near ignite your shirt pocket... The good part about sound activated batts is they don't gunk up like vacuum activated ones though.

This would be interesting... I have never been much of an auto man.. because of my heavy dripping habits and the chance of clogs.... BUT with this baby I might have to reconsider my thoughts of auto batteries.... This would be nice especially with out a cut off.

Hey LGD,
What makes you think there won't be a cut off. The manual batt's have a 17 second cutoff. So, I would say they would have a cutoff like the manuals, maybe shorter?

You know I am going to have to add a note to my review on the manuals.... 17 secs is a long time.... I thought the manuals didn't because first I tested it by vaping it, but couldn't vape that long... then I tested it with out an atty (didn't want to burn out the atty) and noticed my flaw

I tested again with atty... yes cut off light turns off and no vape

MY FLAW with out atty light turns off and on real quick at 17sec which lead me to believe no cut off (since other ecigs with cut off you notice with out atty from my experience)

THANKS for the education

Thanks Stubear! I'm just trying to educate myself and determine whether throwaways or warranted attys would be a better fit for me. Mik said in another thread that it's a good idea to have at least five spares. I'm thinking he meant throwaways. But I agree about the spares.

The picture on the Janty site confused me because it shows a Janty logo in the picture, but the atomizer itself has the wide band. On closer inspection, I see the TAWA logo.

So I'm assuming that the Janty TAWAs are manufactured for Janty (not to QA spec) as a less expensive alternative so that customers have a choice pricewise.

What was your experience with getting your replacement? Did you have to pay shipping both ways? One way? How long did it take? I have no doubt that Janty USA has great customer service, but sometimes stuff can happen, so I want to be prepared. Running to the post office doesn't thrill me, but neither does running out of supplies. It beats running to the store for analogs though.

Edit: Never mind. I read your response in the EGO/DURA Atomizers and Warranty thread. It would be nice if Janty added this information on their website. I have a feeling this isn't the last we hear of these questions.

Hi F8,
I paid for just to send it back to JantyUSA and it was $1.40 with a tracking # so there is proof that you sent it back.
I had my new atty sent to me before I sent the dead one back and got it in 4 days (1st class). I am very happy with the experiance from Janty and the eGo and 3 extra atty's were my 1st ever purchase from them. I am now a long time customer of theirs and all.
Get the Janty atty if you can afford the $16 and you can't go wrong. I got what I needed and I will always get my attys (6 month warrenty) from Janty. In MHO, I just can't beat that at any price. I said before that I have a lot of back up atty's (not from Janty) and really a hit or miss from whereever you buy from. The 6 month warrenty is good as if I need to get a new one, it pays for itself in the end.
