No, I don't think it wasn't the atties that were causing the problem, because I tried a few different ones out, and still had the battery overheating like that. I also don't use the cone, so I am pretty well aware of the temperature of the atomizer. The battery was simply at the end of it's life, as it wasn't performing well (weak vapor, a lot of effort etc), even with a a number of different atomizers.

Or the atomizer damaged the battery, so that when you tried different atomizers on it, it - because it was damaged - kept on malfunctioning?

Lots of possibilities im afraid, and fact of the matter is that a bad atomizer can kill your battery!

Likewise ... +1

Im not throwing me cash at some flashlight tube painted funny by some geek and priced at 111 $ for as long as idiots keep on buying them.

The only worst thing than that is ppl selling 'high quality cables', that go for 5 $ per meter, patched with a 2 $ atty specific connector at the super duper bargain price of *just* 59.99 $.

Its about time some serious company ends this birthday party here and now.

Good thing TW has started taking things more seriously and they now sell SD at a more fair price.

i just wanted to make sure that my information is correct in this...in my area we are currently organizing a trip to inform the public on PV's here in Williamsburg Virginia at Busch Gardens. is the joye ego from www.goodprophets.com the same as the janty ego? from what i understand joye is the manufacturer, but i just wanted to make sure my information was correct. i was sitting at starbucks vaping away and had someone talk to me about them, i recommended both the KR808d-1 from V4L because they have treated me great over my whole transition, but that i had always heard good things from janty and they found that site while we were sitting there and asked me...i did tell him it was the same because i thought that the same people manufacture them, i just wanted to make sure so that if i was mistaken, i could get in touch with the guy to correct myself. i appreciate any info you are able to provide as always. if you live in Virginia and would like to participate in this activity we are planning send me a message and i'll get you all the info. thanks guys :)

Hey guys,

Yes i am reading here :p

But there are alot of "issues" with 5v - im not saying we wont make them, but we think the solution of low resistance atomizers are better than that of adding more voltage for several reasons.

So if you have not tried a low resistance atomizer yet, i strongly urge you to go and try one; who knows, it might be just enough for you!

The Janty eGo and the Joye ego are the same product to a certain extent; The main difference lies in the support and warranty - and ofcourse in the support; By buying Janty, you are supporting that we continue to design and develop new e-cigarettes, by buying Joye, you are also supporting Janty, just not as much!

I hope that makes sense :)

I bought my Ego 5 weeks ago. Love the unit functionally. No problems there. And it looked great when I got it. "Titanium" color.

The trouble is that after vaping for 5 weeks, the cone and BOTH bats had significant splotchy areas where the paint had pealed off and the unit looked horrible. It looked so bad that I had to use my fingernails to remove all the remaining paint. I now have a stainless steal color and it looks fine. Any replacement bats I buy will be stainless steel because I understand that "color" has no finish.

However, I'd like to point out that I have never dropped the unit on the ground. The paint appears to be pealing due to oil on my skin transferring to the coated metal surface. And occasionally a little e-liquid, which seems to really accelerate the process of de-bonding the paint.

It strikes me that this problem is inevitable with these units. It may happen sooner or later for a given individual, but it's going to happen because no one can avoid touching the cone and bats. It's too bad because the unit looks nice on delivery, and I think that people should be able to choose a preferred color and have it continue to look that way for the functional life of the unit.

I don't know if the manufacturer could use a better bonding paint or if this problem can't be avoided because metal surfaces just make it inevitable regardless of the paint used. In any event, unless or until the problem is addressed, I would tend to recommend that people just get the stainless steel (i.e. the unfinished) version because that's how it's going to end up sooner or later and it looks pretty awful while in transition.
