Great advise. I think I will follow it too.

as some one mentioned, even kanger 1.8 coils do not read 1.8 all the time either.

from personal experience - when i put a fresh coil in, il have the mvp read it so i know what the "base value" was before i used it. after a few days or a week of use(depends on situation) il keep checking the resistance. once it goes up .2 i change it. tho i can say, i should change coils more frequently.

Rotowoman, hey neighbor! I have only had my MVP2 since Monday afternoon. I have only been vaping for two weeks. Don't be chicken to use it. This is such a great little device, just use it. I use mine at 3.7 volts, sometimes 3.8, and it is perfect for my e liquid.

Hi Y'all. I just got a MVP2. Y'all mind if I just sit in here a spell and learn some things? I've had the doggone thing for about 3 days now and still too chicken to use it.

Rotowoman, welcome to the MVP Lounge :)

Not sure what topper you have, but as Paul suggests, set it low (either Watts - button on the right or Volts - button on the left) Good starting point is about 2V + your current resistance. Maybe a bit more if you have dual coils.

I love my MVP - I have tube mods for home and work, but I always have at least one of my MVPs with a good charge on it :)

Well, hey Cher!! LOL Thanks for the welcome. I've been vaping for a couple of months now, but I've been reading my eyeballs out learning some things. I'm the cautious type and want to have at least half an idea of what I'm doing. :D I'm waiting on my daughter to take me to dinner, so I'm not going to fire it up right now, but before the day is over, it will get initiated.

It came with a Clearo, but I ordered an AeroTank for it, and that's just sitting here waiting on me. We shall see after dinner. I can be very patient when I want to be. :D

I can "tolerate" the iClear 30, if that's what came with your MVP. I prefer my Nautiluses or my ProTank2s pretty much on all my devices these days. I still have my original EVODs, but they're my backups anymore :)

Congrats and I hope you enjoy. I know I sure do!

If you have an 1.8 ohm coil, at what point do you change it, 2.2? The MVP 2 says it is fluctuating at 1.9-2.0. Sometimes it reads one or the other. I have had the coil in now since Monday.

I do not go by time, juice vaped or anything. If the taste lowers at all, or it gets harder to draw, I change the coil - keeps me happy anyhow.

i can say, the "topper"s that comes with the MVP - be it the iclear16's or the iclear30 - with the stock 2.1 coil, they were designed for use with the mvp.

they are the only "tank" that i have used, that can use the full range of volt and watt settings without getting dry hits or gurgles. i can vape the iclear16 with a 2.1 coil on 11W or 5V and never have an issue.

on a regular ego, the iclears really suck. lol

I guess after reading what you said, I'd better try mine out. I was just going to leave it in the box. I don't have spare coil/wick for it. I will have to see about that, if I like it.

Oh my word, I tried it, and I did NOT like that at all. The iClear 30 leaked on my MVP 2.0 and I was not a very happy camper. I decided to try my new Blend 4 from Alien Visions on it. Good thing I didn't like that juice too much. The whole thing was a bust. The juice was not good at all to me. I threw in some Clove to see if it would help the taste. The iClear 30 was gurgling, and I did not over fill it, or get it in the middle, when adding juice to it. It was okay at first. But then I took the tank off, added more liquid, and put it back on. The gurgling was more frequent. I took it off to look at it, that is when I noticed it had leaked all over my battery. Let's just say I won't be buying that tank. I threw it in the trash. Oh, I love Alien Visions Clove, and the Boda's Bounty. The Blend 4 is just not any good to me. I will let it steep for at least a week, then try it again. The other two were good to me, right out of the gate.

Any time you break the seal, even if you do not get juice in the middle, you will get gurgling. The way to avoid this is to stop opening the tank as much as possible and when you do have to open just assume you will get flooding due to braking the seal (opening the tank)

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I saved the tip, in case I changed my mind later on. If I get mad gurgling from opening the tank to add juice, I'd rather not use it. I open tanks that I have all the time to add juice. None of them do that nonsense. I liked the look of it, for a cheaper tank too. Are all the models of iClear like this? I suspect that they are. I will probably get another MVP 2.0 down the road a bit, and I am not sure about whether I will try this tank again, or not.

I always check the coil for tightness on bottom filling tanks. Never had a problem. As far as the iClear 30 that came with my MVP 2.0, I only opened it to add more fluid. You add fluid from the top. I had to put some clove in there, to cut the taste of the Blend 4, which I didn't care for. The clove is wonderful. I have not tried it by itself yet. But I've added it to other tanks, and the taste is very good to me. (well if you like clove, you will love it)

So... a regular ego battery isn't going to be able to produce the 11W-12W you mention on that tank, due to the resistance... you would need variable voltage/wattage. Either way, they aren't 'bad' tanks, but you can do much better. I had used those tanks on ego type batteries, but I didn't use the higher resistance heads that come in them, I always swapped out for 1.5-1.8. A 1.5 ohm coil, on a fresh ego, actually puts you right in that 11W-12W range, but still only while the battery is fresh unless you have at least VV.

On the other hand, I have 7 different mods sitting in front of me and all have an i30 sitting on them. Not to mention a box full of kangers, aspires, PT's, Russians, KF's and other odds n' ends. i30 just delivers more flavor and clouds for me. But we are all different and different strokes for different folks. :)

My first battery was the itaste vv 3.0 which came with an iclear 16d. I ended up switching to an evod2, simply because my juice shop was sold out of coils for the iclear. When I upgraded my battery to the MVP, I filled the iclear 30 with some juice and slapped it on, but it didn't give me as satisfying a hit as the evod tank. I'm now rocking the mini protank 3 and I'm loving life! It just seems to give a cleaner taste than any of the iclear tanks.

And that's why we're all different! :) But remember, different tank and/or different mod, requires adjusting power! No exceptions. :)
