Just check out Ohms law elsewhere online, or elsewhere here on ECF. Different resistances will lead to different wattages if you keep voltage the same. It's really simple though... Volts squared (volts), divided by resistance (ohms) yields the power (watts). Attomizers heads/coils come in a wide range of resistances... let's say from 1.5 up to 3.5 ohms.
4V @ 1.5 Ohms -> 4^2 / 1.5 -> 16 / 1.5 -> 10.667 Watts
4V @ 3 Ohms -> 4^2 / 3 -> 16 / 3 -> 5.333 Watts
6V @ 1.5 Ohms -> 6^2 / 1.5 -> 36 / 1.5 -> 24 Watts
Any atty that works, set at 10 Watts -> 10 watts![]()
Yeah its a bit confusing haha. Im always referring to the spreadsheets/tables that float around here with the blue/green/red zone of 'comfortable levels' so Im pretty much running off those.. Whats funny is I should be able to relate this all to my tube guitar amps I work on since its basically the same thing, but somehow it still baffles me haha.. I guess I have to just start looking at an audio signal the same as a heat source!
When Ive run on volts, I usually started with the "add 2v to your resistance" and adjusted from a decimal or two up or down from there but it seems the most consistent with my builds in my Protank 2's and my KFL has been to stay at like 7.5w and 8-10w respectively.. But then the coil build also comes into effect too. Gauge, wraps, diamater, etc, all come into play and mess with it (just did my first twisted 32ga coil yesterday and it blew me away how it cut the resistance of a regular 32ga coil in half!).
Arrgh math.. Even as one of those 'honors' kids in high school I hated math.. I remember having my Calculus teacher sign my slip to drop the class and he told me 'This was probably the smartest thing you did all semester' haha.. Dont even get me started on when the Chemistry teacher started talking about Avogadros Number!!
I think the transmission reference just kicked in.. So if its set to watts, thats IT. You could actually be depriving it of needed voltage or going over depending on your setting like my stupid Honda Accord which is slow as hell to take off.. But with voltage, I can pretend its my Civic with the 5 speed stick and either haul ..... if I need to off the line, or cruise it like I legally should, the power will adjust just like me putting my foot on the gas at a set level..
