I have been using the nautilus mini for a couple of weeks now on the mvp 2.0 at 11 watts no problem, no burnt taste. I just got the 20 watt and when I push it above say 12 I start to get the burnt taste, I will try tightening up the air flow, if that doesn't work I will try different juice once or a new coil. On a side note can the bvc heads be cleaned?

kinda sounds like you answered your own question...

a 1.8Ω is about 9W max, for me (burnt)

you need to seek a 1.6Ω, perhaps a LITTLE better performance

I use the LITTLE bvc coils, and they deteriorate somewhat if you dry burn them

kinda like the ceramic fiber coil starts to crumble

What is the watt limit on the 1.6 coils? What would be best to use tank wise then on the mvp 20 watt?

I just ran one of the Mini tanks here on the MVP 20W all the way up without any problem. But it wouldn't be kept up that high for any lengthy period of time since the coil which is 1.8ohm would give up rather quickly. Or would it? I run a Nautilus 5ml using the exact same coil at 20w on another 30w mod without issue unless the ejuice is a problem. I run into that enough where the particular flavor simply vapes too hot. That can wreck havoc with coils at times.

The better match for the MVP 20W does seem to be the larger 5ml tank between the higher capacity along with the 2600mah battery meshing together well. Size wise the Mini tanks always seem to go better with the smaller mods like the iStick or eGo type VV/VW batteries where they are not seen as being top heavy.

Regardless of what tank you use however once you started getting a burnt taste the first steps are to turn things down since with a good coil it is usually the ejuice found at question, check the battery level since a weak battery won't vaporize fully leaving raw ejuice in the mouth piece, and if all else has been tried assume the coil needs replacing if not able to rebuild.

Same here. I can take BVCs all the way up to 20W without issue whether it's the Nautilus or the regular coil style. I'm think it's either the juice or a bad coil. I have run across BVC coils that would work but with a funky taste at higher voltages. I have also had juices that didn't take to higher power or they were coil gunkers. I have a juice I really like but it can kill a BVC in just 15 mL. This process happens much faster at higher temps. If I use that coil at a higher wattage after vaping it for a while it does taste nasty!

Generally besides samples and a few exceptions I have been getting the stuff here from a friend who started up his own family run eliquids business where you can see the difference I also advised him about some time after he first got going about there not being enough vapor produced while the flavors were great under a certain wattage. I got used to the Tumblers since those will run upto the 10ww mark with some flavors with the 2ohm coils being the best for the tank design as found when sampling each new flavor out.

Once the flavors progressed starting with one in particular there was no longer any higher wattage issues. But take one of the first several flavors and put that into the Atlantis tank for example and try it at 20w and call it a day fast! I even lowered things down to 10w which for the most part is under what that tank will fire properly at and still a hot vape! Finally I put the Atlantis on the Smok Guardian I epipe which is a mech mod unlike the new II version 6-15w epipe mod seen now and will finish the tank off there!

With the one flavor in particular arriving you can tank that and slap things upto 20w or higher without issue since while still being 70/30 as far as the PG/VG ratio the vapor production and transformation from ejuice to vapor goes much smoother as the improvements came about. For the second year in row that's one vendor in the Top ranked eliquid vendors catagory from having listened and made things work! Unfortunately the first flavors there as well as by any number of other vendors haven't been reformulated in order to correct the main problem now being seen with the newer gear coming out. This is why more and more vendors are now starting to lean more at VG being the dominant over the old 70/30 flavorful and 50/50 to be seeing the 30/70 or 100% VG ratios.

Just another thing about the MVP20W:

Mine vent flying across the kitchen today, Border Collie incident.

The mod and the Tank ended up being just fine hitting a tile floor. (tank is a gladius).

The "White" Graphics on the MVP20W can be distressed with some 0000 fine steel wool and after that becomes a nice silver color.

Here the MVPs both are not at the pc desk but where I watch tv with the 20w presently replacing the 6-11w 2.0 model in the mod stand there. The DovPo E-LVT will be taking that spot later however since a new 50w mod will be replacing that on the stand on the pc desk. and round and round we go! :D

You were quite fortunate there not to have damaged the unit or the tank. If it had hit something hard just right at an angle the tank could have sheared off leaving the 510 stem in the hole in the favorable side for two possible outcomes or torn the tank off as well as tore up the threads! Just walking around the house one time with an eGo battery in a pocket with a clearomizer attached saw the entire connector yanked right out of the battery. The two wires later broke right off upon examining it and trying to fit that back in. That was without any impact there.

The MVPs on the other hand do have the much more durable construction but still have limits and caution is always advised. They are not as rigid as the VTRs but put together a lot better then a good number of other box mods seen.

I had one come flying out of my pocket as i rounded a corner on my bike doing 30mph. Flew out of the pocket, skidded across the road and ended up against the curb on the other side of the road. Picked it up, blew the crud out of the drip tip and vaped away! These things are tanks! I have abused the heck out of them and had them keep on ticking. I have managed to mess a couple up over the last couple of years but I assure you no other mod would have taken the abuse (massive falls, spending a week (alone) in the woods, complete submersion, etc.) that my MVP's have. You would be hard pressed to find a more solidly constructed mod.

Note to self? The Border Collie is jealous of the attention the MVP 20 gets. Check.

I worry about breaking stuff too. It's not that I'm clumsy, but sometimes I do trip over the dog or the cat.

haha, i have the same problem with one addition; my alley-cat likes to steal my blueberry jooze from me....found bottles stashed in his favorite places that i thought i lost....gotta watch-um :D
