I am not sure if I got overwhelmed by one flavor.........?! Who knows but yes I have the menthol going. Yes I did throw them out because I blame those coils for my lost taste buds! Every time a coil goes bad on me I have to throw out the juice that was in the tank and I cannot get rid of that awful taste anymore. You can also bank on the fact that my taste has gone the next day.

For this reason alone I considered a DNA 40 mod with Temperature control BUT I am sensible enough to wait and see what happens once I am through the beginners phase. When my taste buds where working, I was quite happy with my Emow Mega and Ego VV batteries so I need to stop buying stuff to try and overcome this :)

Edit: I'd happily pay somebody to rebuild all my bought coils (I have a stash) with cotton though:)

the first coil YOU build you'll say hmmmmmmmmm...

the second one you will laff uncontrollably at yourself for not doing it sooner

the third one you will think yourself a pro...

Depending on what toppers you use, the good folk here will have you rebuilding in no time. I have some cheap clearos I got because they have an air flow control base. The coils they came with are the "new" enclosed Kanger type coils. I have a bunch of replacement open style Kanger type coils I rebuild and wick with cotton and they work just fine in these new clearos. It can be done and really not hard. The hardest part is getting the courage to "just do it". But once you do you will never go back.

Edit: coils they came with are BDC, I rebuild single coils and actually like singles better than duals. But that's just me.

The coils in the Videos above look different than the once I have. Mine are the upgraded BDC's and do not have the plastic cover but an O-ring instead. I tried removing the chimney on a broken coil and it did not move at all.

A small investment in to a Lemo Coil and you will be rocking it with the rebuilds, large and in charge!
Then your just looking at wire gauges, coil calculators, and picking your wicking material.
yes, the MVP 2 & 20w will fire at .9, I can attest to that myself, but the Pain in the A)) to get it just right is now worth it. My furture plans on mine are to go solid 1.0 ohm builds so as to make it easier to convince it to fire after rewraps.

I pull Smok coils in half but am still waiting for the Japanese cotton I ordered to come to work a little on the Big Dripper clone RDA with 32awg for a project. For some reasons the 0.5ohm reading was there for the pair that came with it but they wouldn't fire on any of the mods here I run Atlantis tanks on. With that one I suspect the center post may be grounded out.

The Smok coils however are two sections you have to partially tighen into the base and then pull apart with a pair of pliiers ripping just enough cotton and twisting it to form the new wick. Then you simply trim the excess off each end once you push the coil back together to leave only a tiny stub sticking on both sides. The vape is ok for the menthols and a few others but that simply extends the life on so many of those.

OK, you’re right, the dual coils are a bigger job to rebuild than the single coil
don’t know what I was thinking

and like clnire sez, 1st gen vs 2nd gen vs 3rd gen
I don’t do dual coils, I rebuild them as single and love it that way
then came up with this-an adapter to put my singles into the dual tanks
bcc to bdc spacer 2.jpg

I don't even bother with the fancy bdc tanks with air flow control anymore
the bcc (single) tanks get it done for me and on the cheap...

After 16 months, I finally peeled the protective cover off my display.

Now, I feel like I have a brand new device.

 haha I waited a long time also

for awhile at first, didn't know it was there

then it got scratched and THEN I KNEW

let it on a little longer, then BAM, like you said

A BRAND NEW DEVICE :D

So, what you're saying is that I shouldn't get a 20W or 3.0 and just remove my protective cover from my dying MVP2 and it will be like new? Whew! Thanks for saving me the money!

I didn't abandon Smok Tumblers at all just because I got into the MVPs! The Tumblers are still used on top of several eGo VW batteries on a regular basis as the way to have several flavors lined up as well as sample each on different hardwares. The low cost "Art of Discovery" in use! :D

You can get the coils apart with care however not to break off the small tabs that hold the coils together. Have tried using the all natural cotton balls that aren't too bad but still lack and am waiting for the JJapanese cotton ordered to come to rewick a few more. Other then that however ordering 40 replacements at once for only $24 isn;t too bad either.

hush... be very quiet all....

I got a secret to tell...

The MVP20W is really great.

Do not tell anyone.....

Eric

That's what I'm doing. :)

Whew! Thanks for saving me the money!

there ya go, you're catching on
why spend cash needlessly
just peel the protective film

(just a service provided with your MVP OG membership)

:D . :D

Naw man.

This things been lent out, spent the night in a dew-soaked lawn after a tussle, goes to the beach on a regular basis; I'm enjoying it right now.

Though, it'll only charge up to 4.1v.

I'm waiting for the MVP4. ;)

MVP4 WHO? The MVP 20W which would be equal to the MVP2.1 or .2.2 or 2.5 just came out being the upgrade of wattage only. The 3.0 is the next 30w model on the horizon to be coming shortly and..... ??? If any 4.0 version is seen later that possibly could mean a 40w or 50w model at some point while not yet unlike the pre-orders for the iStick 50w now being seen.
