The non variable ego batteries I bought during my first week of vaping, I cannot use anymore as the constant 3.78 Volts are too much for my liking and I get the impression that the juice tasted somewhat burned after the first few puffs. The four I bought are already on the classifieds.

I then went out to buy VV egos. Some with 1600 mAh and some pretty, small things with 650 mAH. I still like those and will carry on taking them out with me when attending a party but it will be nice to have my work horse MVP for home and the car so the the smaller batteries can all be charged up for out and about in public times.

I hate the thought of not having backups or even a backup of the backup :)

you know, you adjust the heat , taste of a 'set' output device (3.7v)

by choosing the (or making) the proper Ω (ohm) coil to match your preference...

so eg:
hot>3.7V @ 1.5Ω = 2.5A
med>3.7V @ 1.8Ω = 2.1A
cool>3.7V @ 2.2Ω = 1.7A

then of course, which ever coil Ω you settle on, MVP will adjust to it... :D

jus sayin'

:)

Welcome to the forum, and we all may be slightly familiar with the back up of the back up of the back up.
Maybe one or two of us can relate to that line of thinking. LOL.

I was vaping on a 1.5Ω coil..........so could not go further down. I like the VV on the other ego batteries so I can start of on a higher setting for the first few puffs and then go down.

well if you were getting a 'burnt' taste @ 1.5Ω / 3.7v

then you would benefit with 1.8 or 2.0

> unless you're looking at it backwards
lower the #, hotter the vape is
higher # = cooler

What are you using for tanks or clearomizers? I used get that all too often with top coiled long wicked 1.8ml disposable and replaceable atomizer types regardless of brand including Vision and Innokin IClear 16s being one in the same! The eGo Twists are popular while the eGo-V V3s and better yet V4s with the improved button no longer wobbly and up against the connector but at the top of the battery tube run 3-15w allowing you to trim it down. Even with the SMOK Aro Winders supposedly VW those still act like Twists and Spinners not a variable wattage type battery despite the W increments noticeably placed below the V increments of course.

The Smok Tumblers with 2ohm coils at 6-8w by preference still continue to be used here despite the MVPs, Vamos, and other box mods ranging 20w-50w! The continuing reason is some menthol flavors as well as a number that simply won't wick up on the newer tanks at higher wattages run best on the older stuff! I always kept a Tumbler on top of the 2.0 as well as VTR at 7w except for the few that would need a bump upwards like a peppermint mocha java type. That would take out the oversweetened type taste. Yet the Nautilus Mini tanks perform even better at 11-13w since you are not seeing a hotter vape just because the wattage in use is higher but how the coils work.

I agree that you can never have too many backups. That is why I have 11 box mods!!

@pufZepelin: Watch me slap my forehead :) I do have 1.8 ohm coils at home and theoreticly could use those with the 3.7 V batteries but since I bought four VV batteries since, they are still up for sale.

@Night Hawk: I am using Aerotank Mini's, Aerotank Mega Mow and received a Delta 19 yesterday.
So far my favorite's are the Aerotanks, in particularly the mini but when the Delta arrived, my taste buds had gone and I did not like all the additional Airflow it had at that point. I have put it aside to try again. I also have a Nautilus mini in the mail as I wanted to try a broad spectrum of devices :)

I like the fact that the Aerotank Mini is held together without glue and once I have a mild understanding of ohms and subohms I have an eye on the Kanger Subtank for the simple reason that it comes with ready-made cotton wicks!

You should look at the subtank mini. Much less ungainly than the 25mm full size subtank as the mini is a 22mm device while still keeping the interchangeable rba section but with the added plus of not having to change topcaps and chimneys should you want to switch bases. At around 4.5 ml the capacity is quite respectable as well.

Here I ordered four V4 batteries and packed them away as spares when getting into another APV since the first vendor no longer had them listed. The full kits were priced at $22.49 at the Canadian vendor I found the first four eGo-V V4w at over the usual $35-$40 tags! Fasttech has them in the box kits for $23.50 and the batteries alone of $18.95 where I simply grabbed them up!

The 20w MVP should have been a 15w a year ago along with the VTR being a 3-15w mod as well. The VTR is a titanium tank you won't kill off any time soon but weighs like a piece of bar stock in a machine shop! The Innokin Leather Holster for VTR / MVP has one problem with the leather loop you slip the strap with the locking snap on through namely any pressure tears it right off due to the glue.giving way. The holster other then that however will take a beating and last.

The holster also features a loop intended for the 10ml U Can 2.0 stainless steel container with a push button needle bottle type tip and can. I ended up carrying in a pocket instead until I find a watch band or something else I can slip through where the retaining loop had been.

As for the Aerotank Mini and Mega tanks I have those and ran into hassles between leaking and needing to find just the right spot for the air flow controller to get anything going out of those while the Aspire tanks feature locking positions for each air hole! You can feel the notches as you turn the band and notice once one of the air holes appears feel the bump. With every tank or add on AFC one thing to do however is wipe around the base when going to use it since whatever is left in the coil will tend to plus those up at first until you get the vapor going. The air holes will sweat out the unused not being a leak however but some will tend to ooze out.

Airflow for my mini is easy! I just open it all the way up and since I vape VG/H2O only it never leaks. The Delta 19 however was gurgling on the same juice has huge amount of airflow around the chimney as well as in the base and it was like taking half a vape and half a breath of fresh air! I need to fiddle with that one and just try those tanks to find the right one.

I'll pass on the leather holster as I doubt that I will ever dangle any type of battery from my belt. I just needed something that would protect it so the silicon skin should fit that purpose quite well.

The thickest juice I have here is the VCV Caramel Swirl which kills my Kanger coils in 2 - 3.5 days. Yes I know I could boil them BUT it is still (theoretically) cheaper than smoking, right?

I have a number of other juices to try out, trying to find my flavors but I need to wait for my taste to come back. Yesterday I went to a local B&M to try some award winning juices and all I could taste was vape so right now I either mix some menthol crystals into my Caramel Swirl or use it with unflavored.

A couple of German friends of mine who started vaping years ago told me that they went through the same phase and I hope that I am soon coming out of it. So far it worked for a few hours on the occasional day, just enough to tell me how nice flavor vaping could be.

remember, thick doesn’t clog coils, sweet does
-thick creates ‘wicking’ troubles (dry hits)
-sweet ‘fouls’ up coils (residue build up)

you’re NOT throwing your coils away , are you ??
rinse them off and stash them away in a container (they're small)

‘cause I bet SOME DAY you’ll rebuild and wish you had them

brush teeth, mouth washing, lots of water etc. : your taste buds will soon recover

:D

Here I tend to have a few flavors along with a menthol going simultaneously to have a variety at times like an after dinner flavor for a few in order to break things up. I never get overwhelmed by any one particular flavor. I also sample each flavor in different tanks as well as change of wattage at times.

I am not sure if I got overwhelmed by one flavor.........?! Who knows but yes I have the menthol going. Yes I did throw them out because I blame those coils for my lost taste buds! Every time a coil goes bad on me I have to throw out the juice that was in the tank and I cannot get rid of that awful taste anymore. You can also bank on the fact that my taste has gone the next day.

For this reason alone I considered a DNA 40 mod with Temperature control BUT I am sensible enough to wait and see what happens once I am through the beginners phase. When my taste buds where working, I was quite happy with my Emow Mega and Ego VV batteries so I need to stop buying stuff to try and overcome this :)

Edit: I'd happily pay somebody to rebuild all my bought coils (I have a stash) with cotton though:)
