It seems that simple to me and there are many wire types besides SS, NiFe52 (for me) gives a very similar vape experience to kanthal. But no, I'm not saying anything, I was just mentioning that having a bunch of something no reason to force yourself to keep using it... If you had a lifetime supply of goat penises, would you eat nothing but goat penises every day for the rest of your life?

But what ever gave you the impression that Beck, or I, are vaping above 450 degrees??

Maybe, just maybe, we know enough about how we vape to do it safely.
Without actually testing the temperatures you're only guessing though. Not saying that you're not allowed, or that you shouldn't be vaping the way you do, simply that you can't claim with (any kind of) certainty that you're vaping safely.

Tell me about it!!
I have a son-in-law that has an actual physical reaction to the sight of juice coming from a steak.
I keep telling him that he would be better off to just have a salad.
He'd in any case be better of just have a salad, everyone would :)

Well as I stated earlier, out of the umteen mods I have sitting on my desk that I love, and use every day, and the one's I have stashed, I have only one tc capable mod that I use in watt mode. The vape from my mods satisfy me, will I clear the table, and order all new tc mods, and SS wire? Not bloody likely. What can I do with what I've got to be safer, I don't know. I will continue to follow this thread tho, as I find it interesting, and informative. We do need this kind of info to sort thru, and to help make our own decisions on how we wish to vape.

What's 'regular TC' ?

wires like ss, ni, ti. hohm tech uses their fsk curves system to simulate a tc experience with kanthal and something I had sorta forgot about. it acts like tc but you dont really have an actual F/C temp value to set it by, just their fsk curve system/values.

You are quite correct. TC is merely a calculation based upon resistance change and the known TCR of the metal. We do not directly measure the temp of the coil.

That's how temperature measurement works. If you're using a mercury thermometer the expansion of the mercury is what indicates the temperature. The same implies to the rise in resistance with metal wires with a known stable tcr.

Yes.

I would have bought them for a reason.

Good thing I don't have any, I suppose.

For me it is easy because I dont have to change anything. I have been using TC for 3 years and vape in the 440F range. LOL, I still have two 1 pound spools of kanthal ribbon that I never touch anymore.

It does seem like more and more is coming to light about "bad stuff" at higher temps. Not sure they completely have theirs arms around it yet, but it appears there is something to it.

Once you figure this out, neither can you.

There'll be something else eventually.

But due to my health improvements I can state with 100% certainty that my vaping is safER than my smoking was.

I don't inhale foreign substances for the purpose of knowing it's 100% safe.

That would be safer than inhaling fresh air. I suppose that's not likely

    OR
We're vaping so far below that threshold that it is indeed safe.

    Add:
Here's the part that keeps being left out of the conversation. Both PG & VG boil at given temperatures. That is what dictates proper coil temperature ... and nothing else!
