BTW, since nobody has asked for any testing recently, and since I now have a Vamo (old fave), next week I am going to return the Provari's that were loaned to me. I do appreciate the loan.

I asked for some testing. Unless you are talking about hardware testing.

my doc wants me to get an x-ray

Two years ago...after 50+ years of analogs followed by 2+ years of vaping...a "routine" chest x-ray showed I had a 25-cent sized "pulmonary nodule"...

Although I'm a firm believer in "Nothing really matters...and what if it DID ???" (John Cougar)...I agreed to get a follow-up chest CT...

I can still remember lying on the CT table and thinking..."You smoked for 50+ years...you loved every moment of it...you did what you thought was best at the time (as everybody does, always)...so WTF...you now have lung cancer...What IS...IS " ...

(Turned out I was upsetting myself for no good reason. The "pulmonary nodule" was a little Arthur-itis on my spine that only looked like it was in my lung because of the front => back chest x-ray...:headbang: )

The Provari were used for profiling actual "atty specific" temps in VV mode.

Way back a 150 pages ago I offered to profile specific attys if someone sent me the atty and at least 2 cartridges.

This was a single evenings work that I could do during the week. What you asked for is a whole weekends work, and my weekends are booked pretty solid right now.

I look at it this way (and it may be because I'm 61 yrs old now instead of 21). There is one certainty in life, and that is death. No one, no matter what one tries to do to perhaps prolong life, will ever get away from that ultimate truth. Having said this, I've had a general attitude all my life, that if I like it, then I'm doing it, so long as my doing so doesn't hurt anyone else. Having said/typed that now! No one can ever convince me, that while I was smoking, I was killing someone that didn't smoke. To me, that is the biggest propaganda hype from the tree huggers I ever heard. It was not to say, that if a person already had a lung/breathing issue, that cig smoke wouldn't irritate them. It does and will and so will car fumes, fresh mown grass and numbers of other things. Now to the great debate!
I use 317L ss pretty much exclusively. I started out 5 years ago using kanthal and what ever else was put into premade coils. In Nov. of last year I had a physical, complete with blood workup, chest xray and the ole so hated prostrate exam. But to the point. I am still healthy and because I stopped smoking 5 years ago and stopped using nic in my ejuice 2 years ago, I feel better then I had in previous years. All the testing and scientific jargon may explain why that is. But I don't need all that to know how I'm feeling. I've tried literally every type of vaping wire talked about in this thread. I landed on 317L because simply put! For Me! Nothing makes ejuice taste cleaner and better. Are the wires harmful. Shrug.. Don't know really, but since I feel good and better than 5 years ago, I lean to the side of no the heating of vaping wire is not that harmful. We know the precautions to take if we use some of the other wires like titanium ( ty goes out to those with the knowledge that informed us of the what not to do's). But the bottom line for myself is... I'll go with how I'm feeling and I feel good since I quit the nasties. So I can't say if some wire I'm using is harming me. Will it in another 5 years or 10! Don't know! But I don't worry about it. WHY! Because I'm going to enjoy life while I have it still and right now and for the past 5 yrs. it includes vaping with what is available. We can spend our life worrying about everything or we can spend our life living it. I like to know if something is going to hurt me of course. But until I know it will with certainty, I'll do what I enjoy. No one knows really, that putting your hand on the burner of a stove will actually hurt until they actually do it, even if they were told not to do it because it would. Point is, most of us want proof so we test it!We as humans, learn by trial and error more than by some one running around yelling the sky is falling. Sometimes that learning curve can hurt us, sometimes not. But I really don't think, that what we are doing in vaping, is hurting us or anyone else, near as bad, as some of the other things many of us have done and tried in our life and made it through.

There is not yet any quantifiable, conclusive evidence what-so-ever anywhere that the wires we use are dangerous. So until or if there ever is! Vape on fellow vapers and enjoy your life. But mindful of the haters always! because haters will do all they can to bring forth any lie they think they can use to convince.

Tony...I'm glad to hear you're (still) healthy...(and, certainly, have a healthy approach to living your life)...

But as your "elder" (72 y.o.)...(and, admittedly, as one who has a family history of senile dementia)...

I'd only suggest that you consider adding a little nicotine to your e-juice...

Nicotine is the only substance demonstrated (so far) to prevent/delay the onset of Alzheimer's/senile dementia...

Yep, and once Big Pharma figures out how to market a $2000 ecig available in 3 delicious flavors (Cherry, Orange, and Grape) - it will be a 100% accepted habit...

I realize that you're semi-jokin' Semi...but...one of the reasons that I switched to e-cigs...(in addition to no longer having my breath/clothes/car/apartment STINK) (and now being able to walk up the Pittsburgh steep hills without getting SHORT OF BREATH)...was the availability of "Cherry, Orange, and Grape" flavors...

(In retrospect...those analogs tasted TERRIBLE... )

A few years ago I had to try a stinkie again - just had to see if I missed it - I cannot believe I smoked them things for almost 40 years....

And yep, my earlier post was half joke and half reality... A variation of an ecig will come out someday as a pharma product...

Sitting down, facing forward.
Every time I think about trying a cigarette again I think of how they smell on those who still smoke them that I encounter. Yeah, that first puff smell is very attractive, but what happens after that negates everything else. We had some guests that smoked and it was really nasty outside so we let them smoke in the house. Took a week to clear the air! Stinkies is actually a very appropriate name for them.

Political administrations change, as do their rules.
That said, I think you would have been right on under a Dem administration. We'd see big Pharma ecigs available under prescription covered by Obama care, and banned elsewhere. With the Rep administration it's hard to predict. I still hope they keep their hands off. But...

After 50+ years of smoking...and loving it...there's NO WAY that I'd EVER consider making my apartment "NO SMOKING"...

However...after I switched to vaping...I did wonder if I'd smell their cigarettes => bum one from one of them => "slip back" into smoking...

But awsum you're right...analogs smell so bad that I've had NO interest in bumming one...

So...when the party's over...I wash ALL the ashtrays...open ALL my windows...and continue in my W.W.O.V....

When I started vaping...4+ years ago...50/50 (and even 70PG/30VG) was readily available to buy online...

Then...with the appearance of sub-ohm coils and 500W Mods...these e-juices were largely replaced by 30PG/70VG and 20PG/80VG e-juices...

Since I'm too inept/lazy to DIY...does anyone here know where to buy premade 50/50 or 70PG/30VG e-juices???

[NOT because of the safety or vaping qualities of the PG or VG...but I'm finding that I'm spending way too much time cleaning the "VG film" off my car and apartment windows... ]
