You know I like me some Linda Ronstadt  (Turn your head Janet)

I couldn't agree more. In my teens she was my hero! Recently I got to wondering what had happened to her; I looked it up online, and she has Parkinson's disease now, and can no longer sing. I almost cried when I read that, such a waste of that VOICE!!

And, I want to add this, and I hope the rest of you will agree with me .. I don't say it often to anyone, but today, for you TX, the Tumbleweed Man, the guy that entertained us with the stories of his Forrest Gump like life, who always was there with advice, tips, reflection and humor ..

.. with an endearing and uplifting spirit!

Thanx, Willie, for expressing our love and gratitude!!

Yeah, I read about that a few weeks ago.

Those short skirts were awful to manage. I never realized how sitting like that would show that much thigh. Guys talked about that, but I wasn't interested in looking.

That wasn't the worst thing, though, guys looking up your skirt. The worst was how cold your ... got, sitting on concrete like that. :D

Of course when those skirts were popular, I was still in ruffly-bottomed tights. God I hated those. The best day of my childhood was when the local school board decreed girls could wear pants to school; I was in 4th grade (1970). Of course it had to be pantSUITS!! :D I only learned the perils of mini-skirts in the 1990s, when they started coming back in style.

But the thing that really gripes me is hip-huggers. First time around, I was much too young to HAVE hips. By the time they came back, my hips had grown muffin-tops. *sigh* I just can't win.

Yes, 1970, the year I started 8th grade. I never wore a dress to school again!!!!!

I still wore dresses-- the value to me was that I, or my mom, got to decide what I wore, not some arbitrary rule. By the time I was in high school, starting 8th grade in '74 (they didn't have "middle school" here, then), they'd stopped persecuting the guys for long hair, and by the time I was 15 or 16, even facial hair went utterly unremarked. God, the 70s were great. As much as I love PCs, the '70s were just... cool, to describe them as we would have then. :D The hippies were really over by then, but there was a younger generation of them, and that was the '70s. When we used to watch That '70s Show, it was like a time-travel visit -- it was in Wisconsin, though I grew up in GA, but otherwise, exactly the same. :D

Ok, I gotta ask you about your avi. We love it. Mike and I were discussing it and wondered if you were a dentist. Is there a story behind it?

Nope ! not a dentist, actually i am a machinist i work in a machine shop, no real story behind the avi, just picked it out of the clear blue sky.
Have a great Sunday !

The 70s were very cool indeed.... Bell bottoms, platform shoes, Gloria Steinem, and of course ....DISCO!

I think the invention of pantyhose enabled the short skirts. But we still had to wear girdles, to keep the pantyhose from sagging. Truly uncomfortable. And, of course, once they got a run on one leg, I had to throw the whole pair away, until I began cutting off the ruined leg, and wore two that were 3/4 intact. I haven't bought any in YEARS!

The bell-bottom hip-huggers were comfortable-- of course, I am a pear.
