 Not my radio....or my car. Haven't a clue if it was a disc or a radio station...;)

re: old music ... it was my daughter who got me to like and appreciate music from the big bands and swing era. I've got a bunch of that music now that if not for her I wouldn't. When And when I was exercising regularly I actually liked to listen to some old time boogie boogie.

re: exercising ... I'm now completely convinced it's bad for your health. Janet and I sprung for a treadmill a couple weeks ago. After using it for about a week or so, we both came down w/ this dang cold. We were fine before we started exercising.

Iffy, glad to see you back and I think the housekeeper is a fantastic idea! I hope you keep her. What a difference it will make in your life.

For now we're employing her for four hours once a week. But, it's a 'foot in da door' in case...

You two hurry up and get well!

What will they do with me? Don't know.........I'm headed to work tomorrow. I think it may be my last hitch there. I'm a little sick about it.

Hopefully 'they' will find a suitable position that will satisfy you and them. Hang in dere sweet Debra!

Willie, another fine production!

I once bought a recombant stationary bike. It was the best clothes rack I ever had ;)

Well since oil fell, companies noticed that they're making more money since they have less fuel costs. That's no reason to not make more money right? Like... who's gunna notice?

I think I posted this before...

Dear Mr. Unknown Blogger,
I heat my home with oil and to save a few bucks I clean our furnace by myself. Since oil is so expensive these days I'd like to know if it's possible to reclaim a few drops I spilled while cleaning it.

Dear Mr. Stupid,
First of all, if you do spill oil anywhere you should realize that you must immediately report it to the EPA. (Environmental Protection Agency - Mental being the operative word here) Dialing 911 is perfectly acceptable here. They will cheerfully come out to your home (in proper attire, sirens blaring, coffee cups in hand) and help you get rid of any drops you have carelessly spilled for a nominal fee (Only a few thousand dollars per man, per drop, generally a 35 man* minimum, or the amount of people they can cram into your home and still continue to breath. Whichever is greater.). Also, you must keep track of exactly how many drops were spilled to report to the oil companies so that they can adjust their prices accordingly. Usually the gas pumps nationwide, as a rule of thumb, show approximately a one penny increase per drop lost by a homeowner. (Obviously it depends on the size of the drop as well, so you need to report whether it was big drops or little drops.) Of course, if you do manage to reclaim it, there is no price reduction. Sadly, they regret that they forgot to put a reverse on the signs. They are vigorously investigating the oversight and give their word that within 400 years it will be corrected. Probably. (aka maybe, but don't hold your breath in oil company legalese)

*Note. It should be noted that the men may be replaced with women, however, due to sexual harrassment laws the genders may NOT be mixed in a situation such as this. Also, please note that if the correct amount of (if chosen) women (since there are less women in this field) cannot be made immediately available, your home will be quarantined until they can produce the amount required. Generally not more than a 5 year waiting period. This can be, of course, to your advantage because as people age, they get fatter. Therefore the cost per person to you is reduced if you go over the 35 woman (in this case) minimum.

Pokes head around corner .. although some may have, by now, breathed a sigh of relief hoping that the Thread is clear, I did want to reassure everyone that I am, in fact, still clinging on to "The Land of the Living", much to the chagrin of a select few who likely would hope for a more, er, worst case scenario .. so, excuse me while I "Whip Dis Out" .. :)

"We May Lose and We May Win, But We Will Never Be Here Again" .. and, as a self indulgent side note, I have, in fact, stood on the Corner of Winslow, Arizona (a part of the earlier Bucket List wish on getting your kicks on Route 66 as documented some pages back, or 10 minutes in Real Time ) .. really, although, as with many things in life these days, the fine folk of Winslow decided to make the corner a Tourist Destination, so now it's essentially worn out (I stood there in the 1970's, before it became passé :D) .. although, I will admit to not having spotted a girl in a flatbed Ford, although I was looking, hell, I'm always looking, who am I kidding .. ?? .. much less slowing down to take a look at me .. a belated RIP to Glenn Frey .. (It's Frai, BTW) .. Joe Walsh had some kind words for him last Saturday, although in life, they might not have been so kind ..

While I certainly can't claim the title of "The Most Depressed Dude on ECF", (As opposed to "The Most Interesting Man Alive" or "The Most Depressing Dude on ECF"), I feel certain I would rank among the Top Tier .. the Cure .. ?? Mainly, I just call it My Time of the Month and let it run it's course .. certainly, there are times when Mother's Little Helper and/or herbal remedy may be initiated .. and my old friend Jack Daniels is always at the ready to help make things worse o_O .. I also find treating yourself to something nice, such as getting your nails done or People Watching at the Walmart can be helpful .. This has now inspired me to create my own Custom MEME ..

As a lark, I've decided to test what I am calling "Back Porch Radio" .. the Beta can be found at the convienient link contained below (below, below, below, below yo ho) .. for those of you that care to listen, it will require an approximate 32 minutes of your life, which you may or may not want to commit to (if not, I fully and completely understand ;)) .. instructions on voting to dislike rather than like are contained within ..Lastly, in the event you actually want to sit through the whole bit, let me suggest popping open a new tab with which to continue your browsing while singing along .. and, as a side note, perhaps a dose of your personal choice in relaxants might be in order .. :)

my only complaint was you said the Smokey tune was "for the ladies"

Smokey was the last live concert i attended. He was awesome.

I can't stress "GOOD" doctors enough. I've had my share of catastrophes with some.....but I also know what I need and when I need it.....so, I've learned to scream bloody murder when I feel myself speeding downhill........;) I'm probably much like Mary, in that I should be on meds always, but I try and go as long as I can without....
I agree whole heartedly. I have been extremely lucky in my civilian doctors. Not so much on active duty. Luckily when I was on active duty I was a much younger man and pretty much in my "indestructible" phase. Now, not so much. :) My civilian doctors both GP and specialists have always listened and taken aboard everything I've told them. :) Course I'm not a doctor but, I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express earlier in the week.

I'm starting to get worried. Willie, the file is still downloading. It's at 322 MB now!

I think something's wrong.

Maybe my pc is faster than yours, I don't know.....but I don't think there's anything wrong....it's quite a large file and did take some time to upload it to google drive.....;)
