Me thinks you got your answer and have it playing. But you were in my quote list so I thought I'd ramble on about nothing anyway because well just because.
Jup, it's playing now, but feel free to ramble on anytime. :) I'm having a really bad brain day, so be prepared for me to be even more gooberish than normal! Usually best I go sit in my corner on days like these

I posted this on the Front porch but I know there are some that don't do both porches. I received an email from CASAA about a German petition. The registration process is kinda different, but you must register before you can sign. The registration form is in German (and I forgot most of my 7th/8th grade German), but there is an explanation of what to fill in in English in the walkthrough link. I registered and received a confirmation email within minutes, then followed the link to sign the petition and my name is on the list. They need 50,000 signatures to be able to present it, but they don't have to be from Germany.

CASAA is “rebroadcasting” this call to action from Vapers.Org.UK.

You can see the original post here.

Petition the German Parliament: “Don’t implement ART 20 TPD!”

We should preface this by making it clear that this is not your run-of-the-mill petition (Petition 61453). In the context of the German Parliament, this is part of the legislative process. As such, there are detailed instructions for signing this petition on the original post. Rather than rewrite the entire post -- which is thorough and you should plan to take about 15 minutes to sit down with it -- we will simply take this opportunity to explain why your participation is vital.

  1. German vapers (or “steamers,” as the literal translation goes) have written this petition to demand that their government reject implementing Article 20 of the EU’s tobacco Products Directive (TPD). For a detailed look at Article 20 of the TPD and why it should be vehemently opposed, please see analysis provided by Clive Bates here.

  1. This petition needs 50,000 signatures in order to be presented to the German Parliament. Fortunately, those signatures can come from anywhere. In fact, it may be very beneficial if a large portion of them come from outside of Germany.

  1. The deadline for reaching the threshold is Wednesday, January 20th, 2016. (It is absolutely vital that you provide accurate information when registering to participate in the German petition system. False or inaccurate personal info may jeopardize consideration of this petition.

Please follow the detailed walkthrough provided by German Vapers and register with the German Parliament website so you can Sign This Petition. (We recommend viewing the site as translated by Google for easier navigation -- unless, of course, you read/speak German)

Please take action TODAY and sign this petition!

Whenever I feel down, I hug a cow, they always understand and they never think I'm being silly.

Lannie, I always, (for some reason it's the way my brain is wired) somehow gain inspiration from these type posts .. here we go .. ;)

While you may not find the gentle and sweet love encapsulated within the velvet folds of a bovine neck here, since, we are, after all, within the Virtual Realm .. :) .. the essence of your feeling both understanding and acceptance is alive and well within the folds of our Virtual Realm .. thusly, there is rarely a lack of understanding and certainly not any judgmental leaning as it relates to anyone at any time being silly .. :) .. in fact, many of us are known Worldwide as having uncontrollable bouts of Silliness .. we wear it as a Badge of Honor .. ;) ..

So thank you, sincerely .. I am now going to Petition The White House for "National Hug a Cow Day" .. after all, we have a Day for about everything, do we not .. ?? So I find "National Hug a Cow Day" to be worthy and worthwhile .. :) .. Please do not take my post as being mean in any possible way .. many here will vouch for me .. I think .. although I know I do provide some degree of head scratching among the Collective periodically, it is not intended to poke at anyone .. :)

In closing, should you ever decide to have a Virtual Face to Face .. I'm sure a link will be forthcoming ..

An outstanding program that runs in the background of your computer and uses the unused computational cycles. Most computers, especially when you are surfing the web and watching YouTube etc. use very few of the computation cycles in you machine. This program allows you to "donate" that unused time to a very worthy project. All the various computers signed up are joined together through Internet magic work as one giant worldwide "super computer" to fold and unfold the proteins in cancer research that allows scientists to see how they work and move just a tiny step towards a cure. 3mg posted a link below to their website where you can read more about it and maybe help out too. You don't need a big machine or anything, we all have lots of capacity we aren't using.

Thanks for posting the link. :thumb:

Me too Willie. Dude you do a great job summing up the way I feel. I got to know TX later during his ECF journey. Wonderful man.

You and I got here about the same time. I was made to feel at home from the. First post. :)

They were a great bunch but, the nice thing is we still have one of the most outstanding group of folks I have had the pleasure to know. Online or RL.

It's awesome. Especially when you have multiple systems with multiple cores dedicated specifically for running the Folding@Home. Allows for fast research. Ample opportunity I say.

I should just let Chicklet run the house, and trust that Zipper will keep the messes cleaned up.
Never thought I would see that name, or variant for a dog again. My father's boyhood dog was named Zip. One of my first memories was of Zip jumping up on me and bowling me over when I was real little. My grandparents moved into town and left him on my uncle's farm (next farm over). One day, Zip was no longer there, he had left and never came back, I was told.

Puppies do zip all over the place, don't they?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "JUST A PET"!!! And yes, I am shouting that!!! They become part of the family, no matter how many legs, what material covers their body, what their "job" is, how they eat or where they sleep. So I know many of us understand and can relate to your hurt. But Chicklet sounds like a real love! It is amazing how what some people think of as a "dumb" animal can really show intelligence, love and affection. You just have to listen to them. So don't feel so weird, cuz ya ain't!
Yep! Dey's fambly!

I considered it, but was worried about the program getting access to some private information. Nowadays with my noisy hard-drive, I would be even more afraid. Wait until I upgrade.

Really glad to know this, I'd seen it before, but thought you had to be super geeky and understand puters really well. Didn't realize you didn't have to DO stuff to it/with it. Afraid to do it with my nephews laptop, but if/when I get my desktop back up and running, I will certainly look into it.

What is folding at home?

Save the World by Folding at Home on your PC Basically, people with high-power home computers can donate otherwise unused computer resources to research projects, especially cancer.

An outstanding program that runs in the background of your computer and uses the unused computational cycles. Oh, I hope what I said didn't sound like I ONLY wanted to know those people! I like everybody here! But I was gettin' all teary-eyed reading those tributes and I didn't even know them. Makes me wish I had...

I need to go hug my sweet cow. I just lost her mother in September and I still miss her. I know that's just a cow and not a person, but when you have a connection to a milk cow (and she was the bestest and most sweetest one that ever walked the Earth), it hurts bad to lose them. Almost as much as losing a person. Her daughter inherited her sweetness and her personality, though, and I treasure her. Whenever I feel down, I hug a cow, they always understand and they never think I'm being silly.

Don't listen to me, I'm rambling again. Just in one of those moods, apparently. Missing all the ones that have gone on ahead, some more than others, I guess.

I need to go make some more JOOSE! That will make me happy! I didn't get my gihugic flavor order today like I was expecting. It seems to be "lost" somewhere between here and North Carolina. They'd better find it and bring it to me on Monday!

I had a friend many years ago whos grandparents had a farm with all the requisite critters. I spent a week there with her once. She had a favorite cow. She'd been present as a little girl when it was born, & said she played with it like it was a dog. That cow always knew her when she came to visit & would follow her around. There was a looong road leading across their property to the main road & we'd go walk down the road & back, & that cow would follow her. The cow had a calf that tagged along everywhere we went. One day we got back to the house & my friend went to the barn & her cow followed her. I went toward the house, changed my mind & spun around to go to the barn & ran smack into the calf! I guess it had inadvertantly been training to follow, too! We were only there another day or 2, but we'd go out in the mornings & there they'd be, waiting to follow us!
