Back from the laundromat at the truck stop. I got a ride over at eleven, and another friend picked me up at 4:30. Had plenty of time, so took my recoil kit. Was busy with it, and a trucker came in and knew what I was doing. LOL.

i bought gas today for $1.89/gal. in california. with our state's "special" blend.
i think i had hair the last time i paid below $2/gal.
and that was pretty long ago...
later, i went to the grocery store and bought a gallon of milk for like $2.49.
i can't remember the last time (if ever) gas was cheaper than milk here.
bad news is that my retirement fund is heavily invested in oil stocks...

Robert, really not pickin' on ya, but I've laid low as to da several comments re da NFL/SB and 'mis-spent' monies. It's just too bad dat dose dat revel in da B&C don't have da ability to be as avid 'bout gov't wasteful spending!
BTW, as far as I'm concerned, you're absolutely right (as in correct). I only focused on da actual play time, although I did see a very few entertaining commercials. Since I pay fer cable, da SB was 'free'.

TS, I've followed your openness and situational self-evaluation. Besides the excellent advise/support proffered by our fantastic porch family, I'll only add that, please, do not under estimate your own vision and abilities. Your soul searching discoveries posted here tells me that you're more than capable to accomplish what will, in the end, prove to be the best outcome.
Most, if not all, of our porch family has had to deal with similar, if not identical, situations. It's an almost inescapable faction of life!!!
Be assured that you're not alone. I'm more than confident that you and yours are on multiple porch prayer/positive vibe/karma lists!

I did not comment on wasting money on the SB. I just do not care for spectator sports. Playing them is fine. I have no heroes.

Well I got xrays and will have the results tomorrow. Feels better today. Still really sore. Ginny watched the xrays and didn't see any obvious breaks so it might just be a real bad bone bruise. They told me that takes a while to go away. I was able to walk in with Ginny on one arm and my cane in the other but the way these legs work there is no pressure on the end of your stump so it's possible that I just bruised the end of my tibia really bad. The swelling was better today too. When I went down I hit the end of my stump real hard and all that is there is the tibia where they cut it off. Will find out for sure tomorrow.
