It's a good morning!

Yes, but the point of sleep is to feel rested and recharged... not to feel more tired than you were prior to going to sleep.

Depends where you wear them.

All I can say to that is wow... just wow. Don't get me wrong, my mind still goes there from time to time, but... wow.

You have yet to hear of the "Putin Trend in Headphone Wear" .. ?? ;)

Oh boy... only in mother Russia do the headphones wear you!

As for the earbugs... I think the antennae on the bugs themselves would start to irritate the skin on the outer ear. Which would make them uncomfortable after awhile.

I remember my Dad doing that as a kid. Well actually the TV Repair man made house calls and brought along a portable tube tester. I thought it was so cool watching him take the tubes out and then how they would light up or not when he put them in a tester.

Then when a TV/Electronic shop opened in the neighborhood .. Dad by-passed the repair man and took the tubes to the TV shop and tested them himself.

About 12-15 years ago ... I had occasion to track down a shop w/ a tube tester ... yep I found one. An old Fender tube guitar amp died and I pulled the tubes and determined which one failed. Luckily I was able to find a replacement.
The British used to call them "valves" WTF? The new tube gear is pricey! Bet, you didn't know that most of the vacuum tube today are made in Russia.
I have a tube tester. And a box of tubes.
Use em much? :(
Tube gear is alive and well .. it never totally went away .. :)

Saw that picture in one of my home theater magazines a while back. Did you see how much he has tied up in that setup. High six figures if I remember correctly. They say that tube gear has a distinctive sound. I believe and you can do marvelous things with a tube guitar amp that you just can't do (or at least not without some complex electronics) with transistors. :)
If I actually won a sizeable amount I have a very simple plan.

1. Pay off everything.
2. Get my teeth fixed.
3. Make sure the car is in top shape and/or replace it.
4. Build a house that is totally accessible in Denver and finally live where I have always wanted to be.
5. Invest so I need not worry about income and have money to pass on when I go.
6. I think I am ready for another cat (its been 5 years since I lost Mouse). I think I would start actively looking for the right furface. I firmly believe the animal chooses the human not the other way around.
Thinking small! That is an almost unimaginable amount of money.
Good brrr morning Porchers!

Woke up to a brisk 35o here this morning although it's 42 now......so a warm up trend.

I didn't realize how much I've missed y'all until I stepped up on the porch, heart dragging, in need of sympathy and hugs, and immediately felt surrounded by love and caring. I thank you for that my friends, it means a lot to me.
Many big huge {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

You were very much missed.

Hi folks, took me a while to track y'all down, guess that's what I get for not coming around more. Hope everyone had a nice holiday and is doing OK. It's been hectic around casa Kim B., dealing with hubby and maw in law's health issues. Things finally settled down after the holidays and I was looking forward to meeting my new grandson this past Saturday.

Friday evening I found my sweet calico kitty lying in the living room floor, catatonic and paralyzed from the waist down. :( My guess is that she had a stroke. I stayed with her all night, hoping that she would pass peacefully on her own, but had to make arrangements Saturday morning to have her put down. :( I was blessed to have this gentle creature in my life for 19 years. I know I did the right thing for her, but I am heartbroken. :(
Saturday was such a bittersweet day, welcoming a new life and saying goodbye to an old friend.
Congrats on the new grandson. It is a sad day when we have to assist in helping our suffering furbabies pass on.

Ya sure got that one right. Many years ago, we were checking out the pound for a puppy and I walked past the cat room. We went inside and one cat - only one - came to the front of his cage and started talking to me. He was gorgeous, so I opened the door and picked him up and he snuggled me very closely and started purring immediately. Then I put him back because, after all, we were there to get a dog. That cat threw a major hissy fit and tried to claw his way back out of that cage. Lannie said he obviously wanted to be with me, so I opened his cage again and he climbed up me and snuggled under my chin and purred calmly, so he came home to live with us for many many years. He's gone now, but I fully expect he'll be waiting on the other side when it is my time to go. I would guess that all of our pets, past and present, made the decision before we made the decision.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Bowie was and will continue to be a cutting edge musical influence .. the term Legend gets overused, yet I would say he earned the title .. there is not much you can say to encapsulate a life lived such as his .. "Ground Control to Major Tom .." .. he never stayed the same, he was constantly changing, he did not care what people thought and was always ready to try something new .. if anyone ever reinvented themselves regularly, it was Bowie ..

My all time favorite from "The Thin White Duke" ..

EDIT OUT Self Imposed Censor ;)

Am I over sharing .. ?? Because, you know, sharing is caring .. ;) ..

Wow, joy and sadness all at once. Celebrate the long life your wonderful kitty had while you celebrate the new life you get to enjoy.

Sad about David Bowie. I did not know he had cancer either. His music will live on forever. Yes, a true legend.
